The food was ok. They could make it even more tastier. Some of the dishes were very bland although it looked good. The staff could be little more courteous and friendly. Definitely worth trying and they have a good varieties in their menu. The food was served quickly and there were no delays.

Thought it’s vegetarian restaurant that I expected to be good, but food were super normal. My friends complaint about the special fried rice which he could make much better than the restaurant. I have tried another vegetarian restaurant in box hill, much better than this!!

Great tasting food and friendly staff in a cozy environment. Has their own car park and is situated on a quiet service lane. Quite interesting to see so many common dishes turned vegetarian! Lovely place to visit, especially for family gatherings.

We had the fried fish, 5 spice duck, mixed vegetables and claypot sea cucumber. The texture of the fried fish was pretty spot on. Overall, a decent 3.5 star meal and the good service lifts this to 4 stars

So I have been here many many times and I love it. The customer service is always great. Everything is Vegan but just confirm certain noodles dishes as I believe they offer Egg Noodles. The last time I ordered the Entree Satay Skewers, I love them, the Satay sauce is hot for those who cannot manage the chilli heat! I ordered the Crispy Chicken, it was a good portion and it came with salt to sprinkle over which I've never seen before. I think a sauce would have been better. I also ordered the Roast Duck Noodle Soup which was good with the Crispy Chicken and rice. I probably recommend the Lemon Chicken over the Crispy Chicken or ask for additional sauce. I always get the Jasmine tea which they do top up. It can get very busy indoors, they have indoor and outdoor seating plus 2 separate areas for a private function. There is a decent amount of free parking on the premises and street.

Best Asian restaurant for Vegan food, IMO I've been exploring Vegan food in Melbourne since 2017 and have tried almost all different types for restaurants and cuisines. I have been to so many Aisan restaurants for Vegan food and this place takes the number 1 spot for being the best among them.

This has got to be one of the best vego/vegan Asian replacement restaurant in rival with Veggie Chef in Oakleigh. The sweet and sour pork and black bean beef were delicious and I have to recommend it. Very cheap too which makes it even better

Enjoyed the fried rice and lemon chicken as well as their fried crispy pan cake. The sizzling tofu and the chicken dish was rather disappointing. The lack of tofu and mock meat pieces were made up by mostly vegetables . Staff can be more friendlier too😊

First time order and very impressed. The food was very very nice and both my wife and I really enjoyed the taste and quality of ingredients. Special Fried Rice (no egg) was excellent - not oily and great accompaniment to the two main dishes - Braised Tofu with Vegetables and Beef Black Bean. The tofu in particular was big and juicy, and the mock meat beef (and even the pork and chicken in the fried rice) tasted fantastic. And the sauces were delicious when mopped up with the rice. So yummy. As vegans this is definitely going to be our go-to regular Chinese restaurant. What a wonderful discovery! Well done!

Chinese vegetable bowls (Buddhist way of eating), overall good but wondering if the kitchen is ready for a lunch break? I ordered a set meal for two. The overall taste was salty and greasy, not a good dining experience, but we still ate it "with all our heart and soul".

Very nice place. Loved the vibes. People working here knew exactly what vegan and gluten free is. Very tasty and good level of spice. Bring your friends and ask for the table with the lazy Suzan.

Great selection of food, not too expensive and friendly services. Food taste is not the best I have tried in Melbourne but on par with it. I have found some of the dishes lack a little seasoning. Update 12/03/2023 Food still great as we just went here as family for lunch. We ordered: - sesame prawn - shark fin soup - sambal kangkong - sweet and sour pork - yam basket combo - tofu and vegie in xo sauce hot plate - slice fish with spicy salt - lotus bun - banana fritter All of them great except maybe for the shark fin soup as its lacking seasoning.

Gosh! Do I love this place!!! Went here after lockdown, the staff were great with following COVIDSafe rules. The FOOD WAS EXCELLENT! It was great to be able to choose vegan options of everything on the menu. We had dumplings, spring rolls, nasi goreng, and some soupy dish. The taste and quality of the food was fantastic, and the ambiance of the place was decent. Service was timely. Can’t wait to go back and try other things on the menu.

Always a pleasure to eat here. Food is always great quality, fast to come out and the service is efficient. We have been coming here and to the other location for years and it is always the same, excellent experience. You can be in and out quite quickly! Bring your own containers for leftovers. Best vegan food you can get in the south east suburbs.

I got the Singaporean noodles, black pepper steak on rice and nasi lemak. The food was very delicious, I couldn’t tell it was vegan. The portion was generous and my favorite was the Singaporean noodles! 🤤 It was so delicious I ate it so fast and forgot to take photos! The skewers were so full of flavor and the peanut sauce complimented the dish very well! If you're looking for vegetarian ready meals I highly recommend trying vegiebowl!

Food came out fast and was all delicious. One menu has pictures and another without. I prefer vegetarian restaurants which don't serve meat to save confusion and put your mind at ease but it has enough options and the staff didn't seem phased by answering questions. They were clear about which meals were which when they came out.

I've heard good things about this place and was keen to try it out. We went for a Mother's Day lunch where we found they had a set menu specially for the day. Our neighbouring table wasn't too pleased as they said there had been no update about this. We chose the $30 per head options and were surprised how fast the food came out and how well presented it was. However the food definitely wasn't fresh except for the vegetables. The faux meat was tough and sometimes a bit hard/rubbery on the outside as if it had been made earlier and kept warm all day. It tasted ok but I've had better elsewhere. The staff also weren't too approachable, didn't smile, no recommendations, no chit chat. Not the worst experience but not the best, just average.

The worst Asian vegetarian restaurant in Melbourne! Do not go there unless you don’t care about poor customer service. We went there before melb lockdown, Staffs aren’t friendly, they just stood there, chit chatting! They claimed that since Covid , customer has to write down their order , this is a joke- it’s not McDonald’s , it’s a sit down restaurant, we should entitle basic service( the pen were shared around without sterilizing)! How could it be Covid safe practice? The small bowl on the table was dirty, stained with food debris and sauce. Especially during this Covid time, I would think this basic hygiene should be taken care of better! Food quality is average, but expensive. Go elsewhere if you can!!

I always order Lemon Chicken Fried Rice here but today is especially cold so decided to try something with soup. So I ordered the Roast Duck Noodle Soup (vermicelli). I was hesitant because I prefer egg noodles with soup but it turned out quite well. I recommend getting cut chili to go with it for people who like spiciness. The duck was crispy and savoury which was great! Serving size was generous 🙂.

Best food we've had in Melbourne so far, was trying to find a Malaysian styled restaurant that was vegetarian with no onion or garlic. Perfect for us. And the servers were very friendly! My favourite dish was the abalone with oatmeal, and second favourite was the veggie fin soup, very comforting. Hope Veggie Bowl will open up a restaurant in Gold Coast or Brisbane one day!

My family and I LOVE the food at Veggie Bowl!!! The food has amazing flavours and is well priced. The atmosphere is great and the staff are wonderful and you don’t have to wait for long and they cater from eating on your own you large groups and are extremely accomodating. Would give 6 out of 5 stars! Can’t wait to come back!!!

Went in to try some veggie food at Vegie Bowl Forest Hill on Thursday night before the Australia Day long weekend. The ambience was good and the service was okay. We ordered Satay Skewer and Monkey Head Mushroom on hot plate with steamed rice. The food taste was below my expectation and not at all value for money. The wait time was reasonable given it was fairly crowded. Overall, good restaurant to try out once. Not sure if I will go again!

Great service decent food! Ordered the sizzling prawn which the prawn was unfortunately chopped up into tiny pieces rather than king prawn style... and the Singapore noodles which were a bit powdery and dry.. but I can’t lie it hit the spot and loved the ambience of the place will try other mock meats next time

I'm not vegetarian so I wasn't sure about the menu, but I was pleasantly surprised! We had spring rolls, sizzling pepper "beef", stirfry Chinese broccoli, coconut rice and it was all delicious! Fresh ingredients, perfect sauces, generous portions, and the mock meat was barely noticeable. Plus a beautiful venue with exposed brick and high timber ceilings. Turned out to be a perfect place for a date.

  • 4/5 Edddy G. 5 years ago on Google
Wowee the food is actually super delicious !!! Some typical Asian plant based variants and plays on meat dishes Despite how tasty the food is I wish it wasn't too oily. At times I could feel it drip down my throat Kind of like when you take a bump of Coco and feel that nastyy drip The ambience and internal aesthetic was quite something too. A worthwhile gastronomical experience ! :)

We have visited this place twice and we are totally satisfied. Here is my review, Food: great taste, large variety, reasonable presentation. 8 out of 10 Service: very friendly staff, greet you when you arrive, give you what you want, no rush even though they get very busy on weekends. 9.5 out of 10. Price: very reasonable, under $20 for main course. 8.5 out of 10. Surrounding: reasonable car parking spaces, if full, can always park on the service road. There is a large covered area outside the main entrance, haven't sat there. Overall, it is neat. 8.5 out of 10.

Great vegetarian restaurant! Very flavoursome Chinese-Malaysian fare, and generous portions for the price you pay. Friendly enough service and lots of options to choose from! You have to pay $0.20 for a takeaway container. Best to make reservations.

Staff isn't very friendly unfortunately. Food is good although sure how healthy it actually is. Portions are really great size. Needs more friendly staff and some fresh dishes, as well as extra fresh vegetables on dishes (instead of frozen peas and carrot in the rice). If you're ethical about eating/vegan and craving some delicious "chicken", make sure you try their vegan honey chicken -it's yum!
