One of the only pubs I know that do all of your pub classics in a vegan version. And it’s all delicious! Everything pictured here is vegan. Vegan chicken Parma, vegan souvlaki, cauliflower and cheese. Great selection of wines, beer and non alcoholic beverages, both beer and mocktails. Staff are all friendly too.

really great service and lovely staff. Ordered the chicken papaya salad which was surprisingly bad. It was very dry, seasoned only with vinegar and parsley? Otherwise it was grated carrot and papaya and there were maybe 3 cashews on it. It feels like a dish that someone made without tasting it before hand. the worst meal i have ordered. Dont order it. My friends had nice meals, maybe go for the chicken burger.

Booked a table for 8, weeks in advance but was only provided a table for 6. No apology was provided. The head waiter (manager?) is extremely arrogant and rude. My friend was taking a photo while we were paying for our meals and he rudely told her to get out of the way. He then demanded to know where I was going next (like it's his business), I said up to the rooftop bar to join my friends. He said no you cannot and sent us out the back. Vegan food is decent and it is good to have a pub with a vegan menu but save your money unless you want to be talked down by a man who thinks his better than you.

Loved the rooftop bar, go there between 4 to 6 pm for happy hour and cheap drinks, food was great too. Loved the pizza

Souvlaki night. $15 with chips and salad!!!!!!!!! It was basically a lamb roast wrap. So won't be back for a souvlaki fix. But if you want a lamb roast wrap this is the place to be on a Monday. Laid back atmosphere, great for catch ups.

Why are all the staff so rude and unfriendly? We only come here for the food, specifically the vegan duck souvlaki. However today we were served hardly any chips, and the salad on the side and in the souvlaki was pathetic. We were also told there were no $10 bloody Mary’s, so I pulled up their Instagram and showed them a post the Cornish arms had posted 15 minutes ago about $10 bloody Mary’s. We also couldn’t order the duck souvlakis upstairs, so we went downstairs, but downstairs we couldn’t order the $10 bloody Mary’s. Whattt?

Used to love this place for its vegan options so was excited to go back after a couple of years, but left feeling disappointed (and a bit ripped off) after paying $22 for an extremely average Vegan Buffalo Chicken Burger. Staff seemed unhappy too. Was a downer on my evening, hopefully was just an off night.

Had some vegan snacks at the Cornish that were not too bad! Went during the day on a weekday and it was a relaxed environment. Lots of vegan options available

Great place to hang out. Has a relaxed outdoor seating at the back. Rooftop bar as well with city views. A perfect spot on a hot summer day. Good food too including a lot of vegan options which is great.

Good food great atmosphere. Chicken parma. Vegan chicken parma. Red snapper fillet. I feel like the snapper fillet could of been bigger but was cooked very well.

Is it the best pub/bar/restaurant in Melbourne? Nay, it is the best pub/bar/restaurant across all of Australia! 👌 ... Whether it's the moreish food (with copious vegan/vege options), the ground&rooftop seating options or the attentive&friendly service; this venue can not be beaten ... Long live the Cornish! 🥳🍹🍾🍻

This bar is amazing!! Nice rooftop bar. Nice beer garden out the back. Service is friendly. All the vegetarian goods!! They had a vegetarian chicken Kiev which I excitedly ordered as chicken Kiev was something I always enjoyed as a child. This did not disappoint! Also gravy was the best vego gravy I’ve ever had. Can’t wait to go back and try more of their menu!

Great venue. Rooftop was awesome, perfect vibe for a quiet catch up or date. Downstairs was busy but not overwhelming and the noise level was good. Only gripe was how long the meal took... waited over an hour for our steak. They offered a free glass of wine which was lovely and well appreciated though. And the steak was to die for! Worth the wait. Staff well attentive.

Just a warning if you do come here. We called up and asked if we could book for a Saturday night at 7pm, they informed us that they only accept walk ins, so when we showed up, we were greeted by a bald waiter that was super rude to my friends and I, he told us “There’s no way you guys are going to get in tonight, NOT A CHANCE” I informed the waiter that we were instructed to walk in, and he replied with a very staunched “No”. I even said to him I would be happy to split our group up, again he dismissively sighed and then answered “NO, there is no chance you guys are going to get a table.” and started acting frustrated. He acted like we were a nuisance, even though I was being super polite and respectful, I was even trying to remedy our issue. I've never been treated with such disrespect in my entire life.

Told me that sour beer wasn't available on tap upstairs so we paid 3x more for a can.... Next round I walked downstairs to get it and was told that they do have it upstairs and that the waitress doesn't know what she's doing. Three separate times we asked for water or a drink and the waitstaff say yes then walk away and never come back. They forgot my meal and everyone else at our table was served. I asked them about it after a while and it eventually arrived 10 minutes after our table of 6 were all finished eating but there was legit less than an ounce of brown rice in the poke bowl. Super weird, like 2 times more pickled ginger than rice. No real apology for either issue. It used to be good here... hopefully it's teething issues with reopening. If it gets better again I'll update my review but I'm really disappointed after this visit.

If I could give this place -10 stars I would. Never in my life have I experienced such horrible customer service. I booked this restaurant for our fathers birthday, very excited to share a family meal post lockdown. You think after a pandemic you would be over the moon to great people back in, this is not the case here. My partner and I arrived first to be met with an Indian man. He asked us for our check in and vaxx status and we gladly provided that. Then he asked us to wear a mask to walk to our table, I kindly and apologetically explained to him that I was in a rush and completely forgot my mask.. I apologised multiple times and said if by any chance he had a spare I would gladly wear one. This man was so rude he screamed at me in front of the whole restaurant and told my partner and I to go and eat somewhere else. I was mortified and in tears, we both left. I am more than aware of the rules however there has to be room for leniency, I was honest and apologetic, I am also human and it was a honest and simple mistake. You would like to hope and think that after lockdown you would be delighted to welcome people back into your venue... not this place!!! Horrible customer service and in general a very rude, arrogant man with no manners at all.

Great food. Poor service. A shame as we've been coming to the Cornish Arms for years now, and it just isn't the same experience it used to be. Service was extremely attentive (read: rushed, we were asked for our food order three times within the space of a few minutes) and after that, it was very difficult to get the attention of any of the staff for a second round of drinks. For the prices on the menu, I'd expect a bit less of an in-and-out vibe. Spicy marg tasted awful, like margarita mix with no spice at all, just sickly sugary lime. We visited regularly during lockdown and the takeaway spicy margs were incredible, so I don't know what changed. Raised it with a staff member, was met with a blank stare and no offer for replacement or alternatives. However to their credit, when I asked to send it back, they did take the $18 off the bill. I was then left without a drink while my partner finished his pint.

Great little Sydney road pub with a rooftop bar to sweeten the deal! You’ll find your usual selection of pub eats, parma’s & potato skins. The portions are hearty and was a tasty meal, most definitely worth the price, inside is a nice atmosphere, and there is an outside area out there back where you can enjoy a smoke.

We all know what to expect when we get pub food don’t we? Not this place! Excellent vegan menu and sensational mainstream food. Order was taken quickly and delivered to the table with speed. I notice a lot of staff don’t smile anymore but I guess this is the impact or COVID and me being old fashioned. We will be back.

Young, fun atmosphere but definitely welcome to everyone. Food was amazing, I had a vegan burrito bowl and my partner had a chicken schnitzel and the sizes did not disappoint! Staff were busy but our server was lovely. Roof top bar is nice and enclosed with clear plastic with outer areas.

Very laid back, relaxed pub, busy for a Monday night. It was Souvlaki Monday! $15 for your choice of souvlaki filling (lamb, chicken, vegan and vegetarian options) plus salad and chips. We both opted for pulled lamb. Admittedly, it was definitely not an authentic souvlaki but the lamb was juicy and succulent and had enough sauce, lettuce, tomatoes and sliced onions wrapped up in a warm soft tortilla. It was also a little spicy. The chips were great- crisp on the outside and fluffy on the inside. Stayed crispy - not hard, even when it cooled down. The standard pub fare salad was topped with some pickled onions which was a nice touch. Also had some cider and a Lychee Mojito. The lychee flavour was subtle but was refreshing enough. Service was friendly, polite and prompt. Food was well portioned for the price.

A great Sydney road institution. Dog friendly beer garden, plenty of nice beers on tap and classic, well executed pub fare flying out of the kitchen. It can get a bit noisy when at capacity but you can say that about most places. Overall a great pub to enjoy the company of your dog and a few mates over a Parma and a pint of something cool and refreshing.

Wow! What more can you ask for! The food is amazing with good portions. A fantastic variety of drinks. And a smashing view from the rooftop! Great place for a casual date or a group party. The best part is that they cater for vegans as well. The venue is so spacious. I went on Tuesday which includes the taco Tuesday special! The tacos were filled to the brim and so tasty. If you really want to get your monies worth then definitely visit during happy hour 😉.

The rooftop bar is a great place to enjoy a sunny day in Brunswick . Heaps of shade plus they have complementary Sunscreen available. Food is available and the prices are reasonable. As the sun goes down the city views are amazing to see the buildings all lit up.

I had a great experience at the Cornish Arms Hotel. The food was delicious, especially the Mexican parma and the vegan burrito bowl. The atmosphere was lively and cozy, with a typical pub vibe. The trivia was a lot of fun, and the winners got free jugs of beer. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the service was fast. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a good meal and a good time.

Stop by to try their specials (they offer a fair few)! Food is generally nice. Service is great, even with big groups. Their pub trivia is pretty fun too. Lots of plant based and vegetarian options! However I wish they used a different bread for the vegan steak sandwich. Reminded me of cheap stale supermarket rolls. Other menu items have been a treat though!

Incredible food, venue and staff!! Honestly this place is the best! We come here so often and always so impressed with everything! They are also super accommodating for kids and went above and beyond to ensure our time was a memorable one! This is a huge thank you to our amazing waiter KIAH! Looking forward to coming back! Well done guys

Absolutely terrible. Please don’t waste your time or money here. Began with the waitress coming to the table and bluntly saying “you want something to drink” not a hello, not a welcoming demeanour at all. The first glasses for our jug of beer were filthy and had to ask for new ones. We both had the Parma - no flavour at all and the salad was loaded with oil. We waited. And waited. No one came to check on us. We wanted water. We wanted another jug of beer. We also wanted a box to take our leftovers. No one came. We wanted our bill. No one came. Half of the staff just stood around watching the big screen TV. We ended up leaving without our leftovers (wasn’t worth saving anyway) Absolutely terrible. There are so many great restaurants around Brunswick, please don’t waste your time here.

We had a family Christmas dinner here and it was great as we had a mixture of meat eaters and vegans. This place caters for everyone and has an extensive menu. All the staff were brilliant and attentive. My only comment is that the boss needs to cheer up, he was a little grumpy at the bar. He has a great team and tasty food and it always looks busy.

Amazing menu from pub food all the way through to an extensive vegan/gluten free offering, which is always very tasty. Understaffed! Food was expensive and definatly not worth it. We had a two hour booking and in that time we only got served one round of drinks. They then said our time was up. The drinks were way too sweet!! The only good thing about the place is the staff. They could need a lot more support because it was obvious that the owners have slammed way too many people in the not enough staff. The staff were really nice about it, but they just couldn't give the customers enough service. Anyway this place used to be great. but now I won't return. What a shame

Epic little place in Brunswick. Me and my friends stopped in for food after doing an escape room near by. It was actually their Thursday night quiz night and it was packed. We were super lucky that they were able to find us a table for 4 during a very busy time. Their food is great, with awesome vegan options. Will be definitely going back to take part in their Thursday night trivia

Very good vegan options! Had a reservation for a birthday and everything went well. We would would've preferred prepaid service though, so the wait would've been easier and more efficient for us (we were 10 people). But apart from that, all good, you HAVE TO try vegan parma!!!

Doing OK after lock down. We had a group of 6 on the Rooftop looking over wonderful Melbourne. I am usually a meat eater. However for dinner I had the Vegan Souvlaki. Great tasting with its flavoursim spices. Came with chips and a little salad. All washed down with a refreshing cider. My main issue was the seats were a little uncomfortable as they did not have a good seat to support my back. All in all lovely night with friendly service.

After reading some of the reviews for this place (unfortunately after I'd already been there) I suspect that I may have run into the same staff member that stars in many of these other reviews. We made a booking for dinner but arrived an hour earlier with the intention of drinking at the bar until our booking if it was allowed. When we arrived, we walked in and asked if we could sit somewhere and have a couple drinks while waiting for our booking. We were curtly informed that no, "every minute of their time" is accounted for through bookings and so we cannot just go and have a few drinks while we wait. I said that's fine, we will find somewhere else to go before coming back for dinner - at which point the staff member said that they had room for us in the beer garden. I understand that during a pandemic these establishments are encouraged to book people into time slots. But we simply asked a question, and did so politely, and did not deserve to get treated with disdain as if we were imposing upon them by wanting to give them more business. If they were fully booked they could've said a simple "sorry we don't have any space at the moment" and that would've been fine. However, the other staff we interacted with were really nice, and the food and drinks were okay. But honestly that experience put me off really wanting to go there again.

Fantastic pub. The food options are quite diverse with a huge range of vegan and gluten free options. They also have quite a good selection of alcohol. We had Beef Cheek and the Goblin Burger, with a bowl of chips with gravy for our young bloke. The beef cheek was fantastic, slow cooked and pulled apart. The burger was above average for pub burgers the option of how well cooked you like your burger patties was a very welcome touch. The chips were pretty standard chips without too much salt. The staff here all seemed very welcoming and there is both indoor and outdoor seating options for dining. Will definitely visit this place again the next time we're in Melbourne.

$75 for two people is actually a joke. Sure our food came out quickly but it was also dry, cold and overall not pleasant to eat. Don’t bother coming if you prefer to eat gluten free, you won’t be happy with what you get.. actually I don’t think you’d be happy with anything you get from what I’ve heard. And if it’s the atmosphere you’re after enjoy screaming in your dates face over the rest of the noise and chaos. Poorly planned seating, WAY too close to the table next to us that I learned some stuff about them I really wish I didn’t while having dinner. We very quickly tried to get the food down and left because of how uncomfortable it was in there. Servers were great though.

Decent beer selection for a Melbourne pub, pretty good pub food and great service. They could really use a fan or mist spray in the beer garden for hot days. But still, I'd happily meet people here again.

0 STARS. People in the pub were raising their hands in the hope they would get served. I stood up to go to the bar to get served after waiting 20 minutes for table service, no one at the bar acknowledged me. I went to go back to my table and asked a waitress for help and shh she barked ‘in a minute’. She never came back. Me and my friend are vegan and we ordered two vegan dishes, it arrived, my friend tucked in to her ‘chicken’ burger but was skeptical it wasn’t fake. I grabbed someone and asked for help and they came over after a few minutes. Said it “doesn’t look like the vegan option”. Checked and then whisked it away. Didn’t apologise. Brought her the vegan burger after another 20 minutes. Then when we went to leave they tried to charge us for a dish we didn’t even order. I asked to not be charged for the chicken burger my vegan friend ate. They said no and laughed. I will never return and I implore you all to not waste your time. I am an incredibly tolerable person but this was unacceptable.

For a Saturday night I was still able to walk in and get seated right away without a booking, so true to their profile which states “walk-ins available”, so that was a warm welcome. But it was packed to the rafters with people filling every available spot. And it was busy and loud and full as you’d expect at this pub. Needless to say the 3 bar staff downstairs were constantly slammed with drink orders. Watching them make jug after jug of sweet cocktails. They appeared to be a favourite. But they served me quickly and efficiently. Dropped in for a quick bite and a pint or 3. Wasn’t disappointed. I ordered the Cheeseburger (Beef) for a quick meal option. Burger was tasty and I was served quickly. Particularly enjoyed the smokiness and slight char on the meat. Very satisfying. Chips were perfectly cooked.

I really enjoyed visiting this spot. Great atmosphere inside, but up on the rooftop is the place to be. Great views of the city while you enjoy your food and drink. The meals were brought out quickly and were very nice. Wednesdays is steak night on the menu, and it didn't disappoint. Great friendly service. Definitely worth a visit. 👌

Amazing views of the city. Great staff and amazing service. Very good with dietary requirements and do delicious gluten free pizza. Only lost a star because they used some random pomegrante sauce that was ridiculously sweet. But if this is your thing, go for it.

A great option for a hangout with vego/vegan friends as they have a full meat and vegan menu. Went for steak night. The steak was tasty but a little bit dry/chewy. The vegan steak sandwich was good. Servings were very generous. Service was solid, there was only one person for our section and she appeared to be managing quite well.

A really nice rooftop to hang on a cool summer evening. Great beer and I loved the Buffalo chicken burger. So crunchy! And the chips were also just the way I like them. It had a huge! vegan menu for those interested.

Authentic pub feel with modern vegan options. Rooftop has an incredible city view. Great spot to take friends travelling to Melbourne. Dedicated vegan menu. Large portions and friendly staff.

I want to start out this review by mentioning the bar staff were amazing on the night! They really made it an enjoyable experience. Large staff Christmas party booking that my co-worker had started booking back in June. Requesting function food options/menus, get to the evening and we are only able to order a very small amount of entree's off the menu (no pizza, no dip, no chicken tenders, no charcuterie boards, no wedges). We were also surprised with a 10% Sunday surcharge which was never mentioned in the booking process, which we would have chosen a different day of the week to hold the event.

This is my new favourite place in all of Melbourne. Vegan heaven. Steak sandwich (vegan) is the best sandwich I've ever had in my life (even before I was vegan). Had 3 other things on the menu so far and they were all insanely delicious as well. The chef here deserves a medal!! 10/5

Be sure to make a booking otherwise you’ll be harassed about it the whole night by the bearded man. Otherwise the beers were cold and the food was decent. The Parma was the size of my face - easily shareable.

Great food & friendly service. Even though it was very busy, we received our meals quickly. Prices are super reasonable for what you get & food allergies and dietary requirements are easily accommodated.

Brought our pooch along to meet some friends and their pooches to have a pint, Parma and watch the footy. Doesn’t get much better than that! Staff were friendly, lots of smiles and were accommodating to our dietary requests. Cheers to the team at the Cornish arms!

I hadn't been here in years & either my memory is off or they've had a major upgrade. The vibes are less pub-y now & a bit more restaurant-y, the food & drink is still absolutely great though! Anywhere with that many vegan options is gonna get a 5/5 from me & the execution of everything we tried was just wonderful. Looking forward to my next visit.

I never knew a rooftop could have bad acoustics. We ended up moving to the beer garden downstairs so we could hear each other. Bizarrely had a completely different vibe and group of people. As well as being much more relaxed there is a better variety of drinks available. Food and service were good

Ordered a normal Parma but I got a vegan one, not quite sure about the vegan Parma it just didn’t hit the spot. Quite a stand off with the waiter, but it is what it is and we live on
