Absolutely delicious food, served in a warm environment with a serene ambience by lovely staff. It's my second time eating here and I can't wait for my third. My request for a spicy green veg curry was met perfectly. The roti with peanut sauce was delectable as was the coconut rice. Simply yum. Can't wait to go back.

First time to eat here and definitely not the last. The food that we ordered were delicious and really next to authentic Thai ( having been in Thailand for a couple of times). The mango pannacota is the perfect dessert to finish your main. The serving is generous and the staff are efficient. The ambiance is cozy.

Delicious food and good service. The toilet floor and handle was extremely sticky though. Quite busy for a rainy Wednesday night.

We had the spring rolls, green chicken curry, and fried barramundi fillet. All the dishes were well cooked, full of flavour, and well portioned. The chocolate mousse and sticky date were also great, especially the sticky date sauce. Friendly customer service.

Extremely disappointed! We booked this restaurant for Valentine's Day. We are not local to the area, traveling a significant distance, and both making changes to our work and on call rosters so that we were free and could enjoy the night. We made a booking well in advance. On arrival (at our reservation time) we learnt our table had been given away "accidentally" to another couple without a booking. When shown the floor plan the table was clearly booked under our name and we even produced the email confirmation of our booking (see below). We were informed there were no other tables available for the evening, and that we could sit on stools at a wet bench outside (in the rain and humidity). After doing everything right, it's not fair being left out in the rain like the trash, especially on Valentine's Day. It's not rocket science to read a booking sheet, and to do right by those that have made a reservation. Particularly on a night, such as Valentine's, where majority of other restaurants are booked out. Thanks for ruining our night!

Food taste 5/5, presentation 4/5, variety 3/5, service 5/5, atmosphere 4/5, Price 4/5. One comment the desert 3/5 and good have a better flavor in them took the mixed platter. Overall one of the best Thai food in our area. Well worth the visit and most probably will visit again. Thanks guys

It's a nice place to enjoy Thai food. Food is nice bit pricey however. We spent over $200 between myself, wife and a 5 year old. Service was ok, but wasn't really good. I meant, it felt like they didn't need our money, never asked if we need another drink or a dessert. We ended up calling staff and ordering desserts. Also the table was cleaned up within 2 minutes we got up from the table. I think they were quite keen to get the people out (early dinner on Saturday night) and let the others in. I would still go there, as the food and the ambience was nice.

The service from the front of house staff was terrific, attentive and very warm - made me smile. Food generous and tasty. Had a lovely time, thanks team.

Beautiful atmosphere, attentive and thoughtful service. Celebrated my 40th birthday here. Enjoyed set menu and deserts. Satay was amongst the best I have had (have travelled extensively in SE Asia), Tamarind Barramundi was WOW!!! Delicious desserts. Very lovely dining for romantic night, family or party. Highly recommended!!!

We have been regular customers for years but today was most disappointing. Was so looking forward to my crispy fish which turned out crispy on the edges but middle soggy and tasteless. Beef salad also not tender and up to standard. Sadly noticed for some time that attention not as good as it used to be.

Vanilla Orchid is consistently tasty and we always have a good experience here. Prices have certainly gone up but I suppose that’s the case everywhere. Service by the lonesome waitress was also very good on the Sunday.

Worst Service on Wednesday night I have had at a restaurant in years. About 30 min to get our orders taken. Plates from main meal had to be asked to be removed as we had been finished for ages. $10 per bottle for corkage so $30 is way too much considering we brought 3 bottles for 3 different people's tastes. When we finally had the plates removed was were asked if we wanted the dessert menu which we replied 'Yes' . Menu given to us but they never came back for our order so after about 20 min we left. So in the end good food, bad service and a high end price. We used to be regulars pre Covid but now may not return. No Customer Service was the big issue and disappointing as it used to be one of our better restaurants.

Thought we would give this restaurant a try and weren't disappointed. Staff were very friendly and attentive Great service and food was really good. Serves were a good size and all served in good time. Prices are reasonable and we thought good value. Will return as a great Thai Restaurant. Highly recommended

Food was ok. Menu choices seemed far smaller than I remember. I have not been for several years. Service and atmosphere were great but prices seemed to have taken a big jump up.

Apparently the owners have only recently updated the menus, and have misleading info regarding Vegan and Vegetarian options. There were no vegan options for entree’s except Roti bread, and a number of mains items marked Vegan were not in-fact vegan at all. It was only the great service by our waitress that helped us decipher the new menu and work out what we could eat. Anyway, great food as always, and of course, lovely service.

A nice-looking restaurant in a serene area. Visited on a cold, weekday night and it was warm inside. Food was tasty though the flow of dishes wasn’t ideal. We ordered the Tom yum soup and because it was the starter, we as a group of 5 finished that pretty quickly and waited for almost 15mins before the mains were served. But as Asians, we usually have all the dishes together so that was odd. That said, still a pleasant dining experience and we enjoyed all the dishes.

WOW.... Just WOW!!! Absolutely the best Thai food ever!! Great friendly service, plenty of room to move so we weren't crammed in too close to other diners and large meals with flavours I could never have imagined. Do yourself a favour and go to vanilla orchid Thai. You won't be disappointed I'm sure.

The food here is excellent, every dish i would give 10 out of 10. I would give 5 stars, but really disappointed with wine and service. The most expensive Chardonnay Morgans Bay is $10 a bottle online, but they sell it at $45 and it is rubbish. The service was also disappointing.

Good quality Thai food. We really enjoyed our meal. $8.00 corkage perfectly acceptable. Staff did a good job on a busy night. Some dishes slightly over priced but overall, worth it. We will be going back.

Overcharged us nearly $50 for the whole fish. When I queried the issue they lied about the price. Lost a long time customer.

Some good foods on offer like the Pad Thai. However avoid the pork belly as it's twice cooked and incredibly dry and inedible, apparently by choice. Service was poor. Took 15-20 mins at the start for anyone to greet us and to order a drink; and the younger staff were showing low enthusiasm. Restaurant is clearly staffed by inexperienced people, but could be as a result of the post pandemic staffing issues. Senior waitress knew how to deal with customers better. Really needs to lift it's game if it wants to stay around and be popular.

We have been to this restaurant before and found it remarkably good. But not tonight (Tuesday). The place was packed and understaffed. Service was SO SLOW. We had to ask for our desserts and coffee which looked like they were never going to come. Not sure we'll be going back there.

Vanilla Orchid is amongst the best Thai Restaurants I’ve ever been too in terms of food quality. Consistently amazing quality, with a great selection of dishes. A tad more expensive than similar nearby Thai restaurants, but worth every cent. As a result it’s usually busy, even mid week - so it’s best to book. The service is good and the decor, over two levels, is pretty standard for a good suburban Thai restaurant. Parking nearby can be difficult, but there is a small car park behind the restaurant.

Food might be great, but I wouldn't know as the premises doesn't have wheelchair access (even though it says it does in Google Maps). Happy to change the review if the appropriate changes are made. Thanks!

Great place to enjoy with the family. The staff are friendly and always accomodate for young children. There are many gluten free and vegetarians options. Wednesday’s are 2 for 1 vegetarian dishes which we enjoy often.

Nice location with a view towards the river and seats outdoor to enjoy a drink before your meals. We came here with the family and everyone walked away happy. The food was tasty and there was a good variety for all tastes. We even enjoyed the desert.

We had three curry dishes, they were all nice although one of our diners wasn't a huge fan of the red duck curry (I liked it). Service was fast and food came out quickly. Servings were a decent size for Thai food.

Been going here for years & food is always wonderfully fresh & delicious. Dissappointing that they have now increased their corkage to $10per bottle! As a group of 3 we had 2 different bottles as we each like our own. That would have been $20! As regulars we protested over this & they kindly only charged us for 1 bottle. Not sure if we will return to our favourite eatery with this much corkage being charged.

This is the best Thai food, make sure to book in as always busy!

I love the food at this restaurant. It's the usual Thai fare but somehow with quite unique flavours. The service is also excellent.

We were impressed when we ate in at the restaurant especially the pork belly and satay which are just delicious and then ordered last night for my daughters birthday, restaurant rang after placing order to check regarding my note regarding gluten free, everything was ready at advised time for collection. Recommended as safe coeliacs as well. Menu has symbols to advise GF items.

Wonderful restaurant and comfortable atmosphere. Balanced ingredients, superb flavours, can't wait to return! A+
