Perfectly cooked steak and chips. Beautiful char on the outside and pink, tender and melting in the mouth! The mashed potato had a very unique flavour that I’ve never tasted before, quite nice. Beautiful atmosphere, friendly staff on a busy night.

Friday night dining is the best chance to get out and about before the weekend rush, I stumbled across H&B via the fork and the menu looked interesting. Made the trip to ringwood and were greeted promptly on entry, wait staff were fantastic throughout the night. I thought the pricing was a little steep for the dishes we ordered however the service and drinks were fantastic. It's definitely an experience of hospitality greatness.

Went here to use some of The Fork points. The staff were friendly although not necessarily helpful. Their non alcoholic drink I had was the best one I have had for a mocktail. It has lychee on top and I can’t exactly tell the flavour but it was super nice and distinct. Tried their grilled pork belly as we saw the grilled stuff came in amazing appearance (hung upside down above chips), beef tacos and grilled brussel sprouts. We had to say it was way too much foods for us. Staff said the grilled pork is just for 1 person portion but no way it is, it is way too much meat and chips for 1. We couldnt have not ordered the tacos if not because what the staff said. Anyway, all the foods cooked beautifully and sauces are amazing even the one on brussel sprouts. Can’t fault the food and flavour. What’s annoying though also we saw in our receipt that they charge $3 for the aioli sauce we asked. If it’s a fast food restaurant, that’s understandable. But for a rather expensive restaurant, that is just really petty. So overall great food, but be prepared to pay a lot.

"We will be back!" This is my opening words. Service & Ambience [4.5] We made reservation as we want to ensure we get a table. Friendly staff throughout the service. Ambience is nice and cosy and we could see the kitchen staff in actions. Food [5] Yes delicious! We love the food here. Look at the pictures and we had enjoyed every food we ordered. The meats are juicy and grilled perfectly wellm. We missed the desert and perhaps some other great food, hence we will definitely be back.

One of my favourite spots to take friends and clients for a nice lunch or dinner, delivering a great experience from the gorgeous venue, attentive and friendly staff and management and the variety of high quality dishes on offer. Their beef ribs live up to their reputation as incredibly addictive and very satisfying. Their 2/3 coarse Lunch specials are also amazing value with the serving sizes proving very generous. Attention to details on the decoration and fit out really puts you into a great mood, comfortable and luxurious with still that winter cabin or chalet feel. Private function rooms upstairs to suit varying group sizes for just about any event you can think of. Very easy to find recommend parking near the target side and going straight up to the top. Simply awesome 🔥

Excellent place for a great "steak-out". We had the beef ribs full rack (shared by 3!), skewered pork belly, skewered chicken thighs, pork tomahawk with mash, wagyu pie, vegetarian gluten free pumpkin wedge (yes, VEGETARIAN... and it was good too!), with fat crispy chips (to die for!), accompanied by ice cold Hunter's Mojito (it was like dipping your feet in a cool river on a hot day of hiking!) By the way, the skewered meat was substantial, not like little satay sticks (in case you're wondering). If you are having a birthday dinner, ask for the private room. The staff were all great and friendly!

Happy with the location and service (although one gentleman looked not enthusiastic with our large group moving around and changing our seats). All but the main (specifically the steak for me) was tasty. They should level up their steak game as it was bland and borderline boring.

The food was great. The rump was a bit tough, and it could be better. Our server was very accommodating and had a friendly vibe throughout our dining experience. I would recommend the tacos, brussel sprouts, calamari, and asado.

A super delicious steakhouse in Eastland that we visited recently and had a fantastic experience. Ambience is nice and cosy, family friendly atmosphere with an open kitchen, clean environment, and perfect for any special occasion or for casual dining. We tried the- 🍴Eye fillet fire grilled steak - $59 🍴Mushroom sauce - $4 🍴Prawn taco - $18 🍴Humpty Doo Saltwater Barramundi - $44 🍴Duck fat potatoes -$15 My favourite has got to be the prawn tacos, so so tasty! So juicy and crispy with the polenta crust, and complemented well with the flavours and textures from the generous filling of the coleslaw, chipotle yoghurt, charred corn salsa, pickled onion — very well balanced and a great start to the meal. We loved the meats, it was so tender and seasoned well. The steak was juicy and paired nicely with the creamy mushroom sauce, and the mixed leaf salad we opted for was a surprisingly great substantial side dish. The barramundi fillet baked in the skillet was so soft and had great flavours with the caramelised yoghurt, summer greens, heirloom tomatoes, zaatar and pinenuts. The potatoes were so crispy but I think it tasted better as a stand-alone with the flavours from the rosemary and garlic, as the tarragon mustard sauce was a bit too sour and didn’t elevate the potatoes.

I’ve always know this place as a fine dinning spot from Dubai & knowing it originates in Australia so had to check out the original spot! We’re tried various main dishes including - Beef Brisket - Burger - Chicken Strips - Hot Dogs - Skewers - Steak - Provolone melted cheese. Most of the dishes were so flavourful n cooked so well. Personally I haven’t enjoyed my steak much as it was burnt! Nothing I would’ve expected from a place like this!!! But other than that food was great n everyone enjoyed it!

Visited this place for dinner. Service was great—the staff who attended to us was very accommodating. We had steak and baby back pork ribs which we both enjoyed. Salad was also fresh. Their cheesecake for dessert was lovely. Will definitely come back here again.

We went for dinner on Tuesday night and ordered Feast banquet for two and some extra dishes. The entree bread was delicious but chicken wings were quite salty. For main, we had mushroom stew which was considered very expensive for the size, ordered truffle potatoes, not worth the money, ordered beef brisket with 3 pieces only. Also the banquet had a plate with chicken, sausage , pork ribs and steak. I would recommend to go for the banquet. Waitress was very friendly and attentive, with a big smile on her face.

Me and 2 of my friends went to Hunter and barrel to celebrate a 23rd birthday. We thought we knew what we were getting into with our expectations due to it being a fancy restaurant. However our expectations were blown out of the water! The food, atmosphere and service was amazing. We decided to get an entree board which has the most flavourful duck sausage roll with such an amazing flaky pastry, the least stringy calamari I have ever tasted and whatever recipe they used for the seasoning needs to be kept in a vault! That was the entree and my gosh when we got to the mains it was even better! I got a wagyu rump steak and my friends got a behemoth t bone 1.1kg steak! Both steaks came with a divine glaze which coated your mouth with an extremely sweet flavour, just before biting into the deep, savoury and amazingly tender meat. I would say the only downside of the steaks is that we asked for the T-bone to be medium rare, and it was served rare. This was understandable though, as it’s a very large piece of meat and it’s hard to get the right temperature, especially on the grill. The sauces we had with the steaks with mushroom and a pepper sauce and I would definitely go for the pepper sauce again instead of the mushroom. However, both were good On our table, we had a amazingly nice waitress, who was very attentive, but slightly nervous. She said that she was new when she greeted us at our table which is extremely understandable and she did a great job Overall, I would say the price which we paid is very fair, and I will be back again. 9.5 out of 10 (Visited 11/8/23)

I had a work Christmas dinner here and there were 20 of us provided with a menu that had enough options on it that we could choose from. Our meals were really tasty and presented beautifully. The staff were very attentive and helpful.

Hunter & Barrel do an excellent steak. Their slow aged New York strip was juicy, flavourful and cooked as requested. The mushroom sauce worthy of a special mention as well. Kellie tried the Peri Peri chicken from the grill and it had a lovely smokey flavour and char and was a really huge serve. Wings were sticky and with spice but not insanely hot like some places you go to. Make sure you give their Chocolate S’mores dessert a go if it’s still on the menu… that’s worth a visit it itself IMO. We enjoyed the wine by the glass menu as there wasn’t the standard options and had a great Tempranillo (albeit Australian) which was a delight after having just come back from travel to Spain. The team here were really helpful and friendly which was a nice surprise in this post covid hospitality space.

Drove 1 hour to come try and left super happy and satisfied. We went all out and tried the Hunter tasting board and the feast for two to get a taste of everything. Everything tasted and presented amazingly. Photos for proof of what to expect. I'll add in tho for 2 people it was A LOT, but managed to get all the goodness in. The staff were 10/10 very nice and attentive just makes the experience so much better.

We had a mixed experience at Hunter & Barrel. Upon entering we were greeted by a staff member who didn't really care about us waiting there while she did nothing. Our waitress was really good for most of the evening until we got the bill. The food was mediocre at best. My rump steak was overcooked and dry. The mushroom sauce was watery and bland. The salad was the highlight of the meal. My vodka was watered down terribly. Our waitress was really lovely throughout the evening up until I went to pay and she was standing next to the manger taking the payment and she saw I didn't leave a tip so she put her head down and walked away like a little child. Didn't even say goodbye. Absolutely ridiculous and childish behaviour. Definitely won't be coming back because of her, not the food.

The quality of service here is always impeccable 🥰 Staff are so professional, well presented and friendly. This time I went for the Cheese Kransky main dish and it was yummy. I love that it comes with mustard on the side. The texture of the mash is creamy and smooth. All the flavours go very well together and it is so filling! I personally like when there is a hint of sweetness in my savoury meals and the beer braised beans brought that element. I enjoyed my beer as well.

Ate there last night and had the full rack of pork baby back ribs which were really nice. They were cook to perfection, had a BBQ glaze and were also finished off on the grill which left a nice smoked flavour. My Wife had the lamb chop which she loved. It was cooked medium and was a decent size with and nice array of chargrilled veggies. Both meals were a great size leaving us full. Unfortunately we only booked 2 days ago so we were sat next to the door which is also next to the front of house desk, so if you want to go book early, it gets quite busy here! Nice place. Would recommend to all meat lovers👍🏻

Food was delicious and restaurant is nice and spacious so you don’t feel like your sitting on top of the next table. Plenty of semi private rooms to have a special occasion in. A really great addition to the Eastland shopping district.

A fantastic experience being back at H&B again after a long while. We had the Fried Buttermilk Calamari which was tender and crispy; Prawn Tacos which were refreshing; and a 700gm T-bone Steak, that my wife and I shared - it was cooked to perfection and bursting with amazing flavours of the South African basting. Had the Chocolate S'More to finish off as dessert and it was delectable. My wife also had a Cosmo, which she said was one of the better ones she's had in a long while. The young lady, Chanel, who served us was lovely, sincere and regularly checking with us if we needed anything. And kudos to her for handling the senior ladies who sat down at the table next to us and asked her over a dozen questions about allergen concerns, which she responded to quite professionally with a positive demeanour, but they ended up leaving frustrated, as one of the ladies had concerns about an ingredient which, unfortunately for her, is basically used in almost every marinade. To those with allergy concerns, it'd be best to call before hand or at least check with the Maitre'd at the front door about it before sitting down at the table. Again, great menu choices, lovely staff and beautifully cooked food. An amazing way to have lunch on a Saturday Afternoon!

First timers, & wow such a vibe! The food was 10/10 asked for medium rare , got medium rare, very nicely executed. Oh and on another note, the side salad that you can choose from instead of chips.. you guys be doing the most! It’s not just your average side salad, like most restaurants twas very put together. My partner ordered the half beef ribs & he rates it 10/10. The staff were lovely, big shoutout to (Amara) I believe her name was! Very kind/professional customer service. We Will definitely be returning & letting friends & family aware of this place.

Hunter & Barrel really puts Ringwood's Realm at Eastland on the map, great service, delicious food, lovely atmosphere without leaving my neighbourhood. Big city service and style close to home. The skewers are a delight, next time we feast on desserts too. Big thanks to Millie for making our night wonderful.

The Wagyu was delicious, crispy chips, delicious sauce and an awesome s'more for dessert. However I would have definitely preferred heavier seasoning on the steak itself, cracked pepper and salt flakes can go a long way (as I wasn't provided with my own at the table) ;) (I'd also recommend not sitting near the entrance if you get the chance, the breeze in the evening can give you an uncomfortable chill). Otherwise quite lovely, and the service was more than delightful 🙂

Service: The service was good. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Service was quick and accurate. Due to being our anniversary, they were kind enough to leave a Happy Anniversary sign on our table. Atmosphere: The place was cozy and well decorated with nice music. We sat upstairs and had a good view of the kitchen. Food: My husband and I were excited to go there for the first time to celebrate our anniversary but we left disappointed. The ribs were good but nothing special. You can get similar ribs in many pubs for a cheaper price. The beef skewer was our favorite dish of the night, however we asked for it to be cooked medium and it came well done. The display of the skewer was beautifully setup. Both dishes were accompanied by chips which were average. We also ordered a garlic butter which had very little garlic flavor and strong lemon flavor. We ordered the s'mores brownie for dessert. The brownie itself was nice and was accompanied by a very nice peanut ice cream and a little bit of dulce de leche. However, the marshmallow on top was overdone and burnt and it had an awful burnt taste.

From Audrey and my family- we really enjoyed the food and service. Staff were friendly, attentive and sincere. The dining room had a cosy and classy feel leaving everyone cheerful and able to relax. The meals were delicious. Simple but well executed. Steaks were cooked perfectly, chips, chicken wings, calamari tacos too. Chicken was a little pink but cooked. Salads were sizable and good. House wine was alright. Debortolli Shiraz. We had a slight mixed up drink order. Only small- pineapple does look like orange juice. But that was minor. For me, the highlight was the delectable desserts. Baked cheesecake with chantilly cream and a blueberry compote. Devoured the cake, and the cream was crazy delicious. Light and creamy like a marshmallow- not too sweet. Sorbets were excellent too. With so little elements for each dish, there was no where to hide. So they really stood out by allowing each element to shine. I definitely would recommend this restaurant to anyone. A big thank you for making my dad's birthday a pleasant and memorable day!!

I liked our meal the reason that I added 4 star is, I asked the Stake to be in medium level but it was almost rare. The other meal was tasty. Also, the cocktail that we had was not very professional.

The service was amazing!! We were really well taken care of. I had peri peri chicken with an extra side of chilli sauce and it was banging! My partner had the $87 Tbone however he said it was bit flavourless.. the duck fat potatoes were a no, bit on the dry side. we also had the calamari and the cheese bread and they are to die for!!! I would personally go back there anytime!

Second time coming back for the ribs and spicy chicken, and absolutely love it still and delivered with flavour. Attentive service as always and we even had personal washbowls for when we were eating the ribs. Slightly long wait on food but didn't disappoint.

Best place for tasty, creative and scrumptious dishes. Big dollar amount but worth it. It feels like they strive for perfection every time and that’s unique. Chairs are comfy, tables are a little bit small for two, especially when you include drinks and sides. Very hospitable and mostly attentive to detail. Expect to pay a high price for hard liquor, and they charge for water. Booked up most of the time so I wouldn’t suggest walk-ins. Always make a booking and online bookings is customer friendly. It doesn’t feel crowded inside as the ceilings are double storey in some areas, beautiful decor and you can see a lot happening in the kitchen which is cool. Outdoor eating area is spacious and is covered with a roof that has heaters if it’s a little chilly. More casual dining area outside. Would highly recommend. Give cash as tips to waitrons otherwise they don’t get it until after a week or so, so I heard.

Had a lazy 3 course lunch here. Service was slightly tardier than expected, however our waitress was young and appeared to still be in training so this is understandable. Menu is not cheap as this restaurant is normally full to capacity so they are able to dictate prices. Food was delicious as usual, however I feel that the unique Hunter & Barrel taste was not as phenomenal as it is when the restaurant is really busy (we went during the day when it was quiet)... So we will be visiting during busy periods in future. Booking for evenings is required as they are often fully booked a week or more in advance

  • 4/5 Anesu 1 year ago on Google
Well located. Close to train station. Fine dining restaurant. Very good food and variety. Can book room for private function. Friendly waiters. Could improve on number of waiters for private function to speed up order taking service. Highly recommended. Ideal for celebrations
