What
a
lovely
way
to
spend
an
afternoon
with
your
best
gal
pals,
drinking
gin
infused
cocktails
and
sharing
a
generous
savoury
and
sweet
high
tea!
Pilgrim
overlooks
the
Yarra
and
is
a
little
tricky
to
find.
Its
an
outdoor
venue
with
benches
and
tables,
so
if
you
are
expecting
high
tea
with
white
table
clothes
then
you
will
be
disappointed.
Pilgrim’s
twist
on
high
tea
with
gin
infused
cocktails,
bottomless
Prosecco
and
tea/coffee
is
different!
The
savoury
component
was
homemade
lamb
sausage
rolls
with
bush
tomato
sauce,
a
thin
cone
filled
with
lightly
whipped
feta
cheese,
a
tiny
cream
cheese
bagel
with
strawberry
cured
salmon,
egg
ribbon
sandwiches
and
chicken
and
mushroom
empanadas.
The
highlight
was
the
flaky,
buttery
sausage
roll
and
bush
tomato
sauce!
It
was
delicious!
The
empanadas
was
a
let
down
as
there
was
very
little
chicken
filling.
Otherwise
the
savoury
offering
was
very
nice.
The
sweet
component
of
the
high
tea
experience
was
a
little
pedestrian
with
only
three
sweets:
tonic
scones
served
with
jam
and
cream,
tempered
chocolate
bowls
with
pistachios
mousse,
and
strawberry
eclairs
filled
with
cream
patisserie.
The
absolute
highlight
of
this
experience
was
the
three
gin
infused
cocktails:
1)
Chai
tea
with
Davidson
plum
…..
oh
Lordy,
it
was
voted
as
our
favourite
and
not
enough
of
it!
It
is
served
in
a
Japanese
teapot
and
cups.
This
cocktail
should
be
bottled!
2)
hibiscus
and
salted
grapefruit….
Also
very
nice
3)
chamomile
and
lime
quite
refreshing!
Whilst
we
had
a
lovely
time,
I
was
let
down
with
the
service.
I’m
not
sure
if
they
had
enough
staff
on
but
we
arrived
on
time
and
it
took
them
15
minutes
to
offer
a
drink
and
explain
the
process.
We
could
see
a
couple
of
big
tables
and
I
think
this
put
their
wait
staff
under
pressure.
I
imagine
that
during
summer
it
would
be
a
beautiful
experience
sitting
by
the
Yarra
sampling
high
tea
and
cocktails!
