Great restaurant, very quick service, delicious food. The meat platter is so worth it (enough meat, don't worry), and the sides we had were good too (potato chunks, cabbage salad). Service was friendly and prompt. The white chocolate mascarpone tart was a great dessert choice. The 'little guiness' shots at the end were awesome too, cheers! Definitely recommended, and we'll be back.

We were a group of seven and decided to go for The Meatworks Platter, complemented by baked potatoes and Brussels sprouts as our side dishes. We all left the table well-fed and content with our menu selections. The meat was exceptionally tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor. This made for a truly memorable dinner experience! Absolutely loved it here! Was introduced to this venue by a friend and it was amazing. I loved everything from the interior, the service and the food. Had the 500g of pork ribs and that was cooked to perfection; soft and came off the bone easily, absolutely juicy and tender. The corn was superb as well, an when I tried my friends potatoes those were the best I've ever had. They were super crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside and seasoned so well. Staff were super friendly and checked in on our meal. I will be back again, thank you for the great experience!

I was there alone and I ordered their ribs in BBQ sauce. The 500g size was just the right portion for me. The sauce for the ribs was really good. The accompanying heap of salad was a good match for the ribs too. Overall, deserves a repeat visit to try out more food items.

If you're a meatlover, Meatworksco is a great place to visit. I enjoyed catching up with a friend over some burgers, prawns and ribs; all were tadty but I inhaled the burger 🤤 freaking soft buns and delicious flavour. Service was good. I liked that the waitresses didn't come check in on us a lot. The place had a casual atmosphere with some banquet tables for big groups. The seating is quite packed so may get loud when very busy. Prices are on the higher side. Overall, recommend you dine in at Meatworksco.

Friendly service. We enjoyed the platter for two which was a great cross section of the meats. The steamed greens could have been more on the crispy side as they were a little soggy but I am a big fan of crunchy greens.

Not our first time here. Yet, I’m sure we’d keep coming back for their ribs. They focus on serving the ribs as priority so my opinion is simple & straightforward, that they’re doing it great. Even their coleslaw impresses us very much. Located on a quiet street in South Melbourne isn’t a problem at all, as I always witness the crowds who support them like we do.

Definitely Melbourne’s best American BBQ!! The pork ribs and beef brisket were flavourful, tender but not too saucy and sweet. We were also blown away by the scotch fillet steak as we didn’t expect it was cooked to that perfection. As we have tried so many famous steakhouses in Melbourne and honestly the cut here was so juicy, the compound butter was a great compliment to the steak!! Highly recommended and will come back again and again 🌟🌟🌟

Visited this place the first time on Father’s Day. Good vibe good service and of course good food. We ordered the oysters and soft buns. Both are good. The stars are the beef ribs and pork ribs. We love them smoky and balanced perfectly with the sticky sauce. 10 out of 10. We didn’t order desserts because we were too full but will visit again (with a bigger group) to try other dishes and desserts.

The expectation was high but couldn’t quite deliver in terms of service and taste. Some dishes was amazing whereas others disappointed a little. 💥💥💥💥💥 for the Parmesan potatoes, Chicken sausages, chicken drum sticks and the soft bun roll. 💥💥💥💥 for the Texas beef sausage, pulled pork, ribs and corn. 💥💥💥 for the veggies with cheese: no flavour, pork belly: too charred and only tasted burnt and dry.

Steak was the star, recommended. Meat platter for two was more than enough, it was good. Service started off ok, but when the place filled up, it was hard to get hold of anybody but the wait staff were very polite. You can order via the QR code but there is a payment and processing fee or just order directly from the wait staff and pay none of these extra fees. The waitress was able to recommend and help us modify our order to suit our needs which helped the venue via our increased order, maybe a hint for the owners. Helped out the table next to us as they were going to do 6 individual orders and let them know they can order manually.

I died and went to heaven!! One of the best places in South Melbourne to enjoy a shared plate of divinely smoked cured meat platter with your mates. Perfectly cooked, everything was very tender and juicy, the pulled pork just melted in your mouth, the lamb ribs just fell apart, the pork belly was grilled to perfection. I would love to come back here again for dinner when I visit Melbourne.

I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to eat at Meatworks for a while. I finally went and ordered the platter for two. While it was a bit overpriced for the amount of food the taste made it worthwhile. The chicken was overly salty but the rest was spot on. Even the brisket was good!

Awesome BBQ @Meatworksco Their impeccable brisket, bold-flavoured pulled pork, ribs, chicken and and delicious sides most definitely delivered a tasty, hearty feed that’s bound to satisfy any hunger pangs. Great to see an Aussie business pumping out great American style barbecue. For those who love a good authentic American BBQ, Must try.

Came here with a group of 8 a few weeks ago. Ordered the XXL Platter and Ribs. The meat was cooked very well and the ambience was great. Good for large groups in particular those who can eat a lot of protein! We ended up taking some back to the accommodation for the next few days and it still tasted great. the wedges were also tasty, thick and had a little crunch. The platter gives a great mix, but probably better to order a smaller one in the future and try some of the other items on the menu! 😋👍🏼🐄

A gem found in South Melbourne. Food was delicious, abundant and with their pun special touch. Everything was cooked to perfection, the beef brisket was really tender, the prawns were juicy and fresh. The only thing was that we ordered the beef rib thinking it was going to be a rack but it was one piece of beef that we had to share between three of us, we were given the impression it was able to be shared. Other than that we could have ordered more because it was really yummy.

The food was amazing! We went for dinner walking in with the dim lighting and the way everything was set out. Set the tone for the night. I ordered the Wagyu Brisket and it melted in my mouth like butter. Was so tender didn't even need a knife. The ribs on the other hand could've gone just a little bit longer but the flavours were so good. The staff weren't to bad just hard when you're next to the bar so anything and everything they say we could hear. The female that served us though was Amazing she went over and beyond to take care of our requests. Thank you Would go again for sure

First time customer and bound to be an all time visitor from now on. Absolutely amazing food and even better service. The staff are extremely courteous and friendly and the meats are to die for. We had the baby squid entree and the portion size was excellent…..was the right size for a family of four. The beef and pork sliders were the highlight for the kids and the sausages were a whole other ball game. We ordered the steak too which was cooked to perfection. Overall a fantastic meal and dining experience……a must visit if you’re in south Melbourne. Good job guys

Pork ribs were divine, the meatworks platter was heavenly. I highly recommend the platter, it has everything yummy and meaty in it! I preferred the pork ribs in the meat platter compared to the 1kg version but it was still very delicious. The coleslaw that came with the pork ribs tasted funny though...maybe too much red onion or something.

Best smoked BBQ in town. The Meat is immaculate and the sauce goes extremely well. The service was amazing, unsurprisingly, and atmosphere is top tier. Highly recommend and will visit again. Shout out to the team for a great meal.

Wow, blown away by the service, food, ambience and the owner Nathan and his staff. Came here with my husband and 5 kids for our 17th wedding anniversary and it fitted the occasion perfectly. We sincerely appreciate the effort put into the meat to give it an unbelievably delicious taste. We will definitely be regulars now as there is something for everyone here. We happened across Meatworksco by chance tonight and the experience was the definition of serendipity, finding something really good without looking for it. First off the ambience is really attractive and cosy. Ordering was super easy with QR. Drinks were fresh (I had mocktail) and the Steak Fritz was exceptional. And staff were super lovely and efficient. There are also many other items on the menu that inspire me to want to come back. Thank you!

Visited this place today and it was pretty good! Coleslaw fresh, tagliatelle pasta was a nice portion and the selection of meats were great. The large beef rib was juicy and huge. The crispy potatoes were fantastic I preferred them over the fries. Corn also good will definitely be back. They were pretty busy today though so when we added a last minute dish to our order we had to wait a little while before it came out. They also dont have physical menus available which i didnt like - all for being covid-safe but you should have the optipm available especially for big tables. Was also able to request more sauces easily and quickly as the meat came out. Polite customer service and our table of 5 really enjoyed the entire lunch. Will be back! :)

I rarely write reviews…. But I wanted to take the time to do so because the owner was amazing and was patient and took the time to provide us amazing service! This is by far the best restaurant I’ve been to in Melbourne! The food and meat was amazing! Even the chicken tasted like smoked ham hock! The alcoholic drinks were overly generous and environment felt so warm right down to the dining tables , which made us feel like we were at some else’s home rather than those tiny uncomfortable tables that other restaurants squish you on! Also thank you so much for the icecream and crayons and paper for my daughter! We didn’t get to say good bye and wanted to say thank you and see you soon as we will be back! And congrats again on your expanding family!

smokin/grill protein for meat lovers. You can tell the chef puts lots of effort to the food. There is really not much to say bout the top notch food Meatworksco serving. However I would say the following improvement should be considered: 1. It's good to have phone order and pay option, however, it would be good to have photo display for each dish on the phone menu which helps the customer decide what drinks and food they need quicker. 2.i would also love to see more port belly on the platter dishes as it is one of the underated dish on the menu. 3.maybe it's hard, but kids menu will be a good add on even just serving simple chips with grill protein.

Walked in and got a seat at the long communal table with a QR code to view the menu and place an order. Had the following from the menu: - Philly cheesesteak slider; warm toasted potato bun which was very soft. There was a lot of melted gooey cheese and the diced wagyu brisket was tender. Very tasty but needed a bit more meat. - Small meat platter; beef brisket and pulled pork were tender but not soft and juicy. Sausages were snappy with some spice and peppery taste. Pork ribs had two bones but really only enough meat for one. Best part of the platter was the chicken drumsticks; soft and moist with a nice spicy flavour. However the pork belly was overcooked; very dry and a lot of chewing. The sauces were alright, wasn't particularly outstanding. - Beef ribs; ordered this separately as it was not included in the meat platter. Meat was tender and fatty, very tasty with the sweet glaze. - Fat chips; perfectly cooked with a crispy layer and packed with fluffy potato. Lightly salted and goes well with the garlic mayo dip Overall a decent meat feast. Not sure if it's worth getting the platter as it cost similar and you might get more ordering each meat separately. Recommend the Philly cheesesteak slider if you like a lot of cheese, fat chips which were amazing, chicken drumsticks and beef ribs.
