Really hard to get help from the staff. Our table was at the back and every time when I waved at the staff, they only went to the other tables that were closer to them even though I asked for help first. They did nod at me but didn’t came to me afterwards… Finally a waitress came to our table because she brought food in, so I asked if I could get an apron and of course she said yes. Then never came back 🥲 But I really really needed an apron as I was in white jumper. So I tried again, and this waitress who ultimately brought me an apron actually shouted at me. I was like??? What’s wrong with you??? If you are working under pressure then take a leave! Please don’t annoy the customers! The two stars are given to the food. Terrible customer service compared to CBD branch.

It’s getting cold and what better way to warm ourselves up than with some hot pot! I think a lot of people also think the same because this place was packed, huge queues and long wait times, super busy and super worth the wait. We tried the- ▪️Seafood combo $47.90 ▪️Prawn dumpling $8.90 ▪️Handmade ramen $6.90 ▪️Fresh tofu $6.90 ▪️Chinese cabbage $5.90 ▪️Premium wagyu roll $23.80 ▪️Tender beef $9.90 ▪️Braised beef $15.90 ▪️Plum juice $15.80 ▪️Sesame balls and pumpkin pies $7 ▪️Soup base (we got the tomato and seafood!) $28.90 Everything was so good, especially complemented with that flavourful tomato soup base. My hot pot must haves are some sort of prawn dumpling/ fish balls, noodles and veggies to soak in the flavour goodness and this really hit the spot! The plum juice was a great refreshing way to cut through the strong flavours and I’m a big fan of their sesame balls and pumpkin pies.

Thumbs up to Emma who serviced our table keenly and passionately! With the food they’re Sensational and savoury on the palate - It’s truly some decent good stuff from Szechuan hotpot😋

It was expensive. The tender beef had a very bad taste with dark colour which means that the meat was not fresh. The prawn dumplings were frozen. When you eat in a restaurant you expect to get freshly made food not something from freezer. I don't recommend this place to anyone and won't go back there ever again.

The food quality and service is very impressive. The self serve assortment of sauce and garnish is excellent and the katsu pork soup broth is amazing. Add to this a super special beer deal and place for the kids to play. A+ dining experience.

This place has lots of potential but for a first time visitor I have no idea what to do, and no one helped with the order of the soup, the menu isn’t helpful and only partially in English the website isn’t a good one. Waited too long for our hotpot to arrive however once we go there everything was enjoyable, fresh with delicious sauces and nice soup broth. Just need to improve the ordering process and this review would be much higher.

@davidshotpot is the most loved & popular dining spot in Melbourne, known for its delectable hotpot♨️ dishes. Offering a wide variety of fresh ingredients and flavorful broths, David's Hotpot provides a satisfying and communal dining experience, perfect for gatherings with friends and family. With multiple branches across Melbourne, we opted for the Doncaster East branch at Jackson Court for its family-friendly amenities, including an indoor enclosed playground🛝👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 Featured: 2 flavour soup : Dried fish maw & chicken soup (mama love collagen)+ 🍅 tomato, oxtail soup (Kids Fav) 🐑Sliced lamb and 🐮beef combo 🐷Sichuan pork roll 🐟Fish mousse 🦐Prawns Meat ball combo Crown Daisy Fried tofu skin homemade noodles Complimentary: David's Flower🌼 tea for free after 8pm when dining in on Mon-Thurs With a cozy atmosphere and attentive service, it's a go-to destination for those seeking a memorable hotpot meal in Melbourne.

Seriously incredible spice bases fantastic and highly recommended, unfortunately the service is woeful slow often waiting long times between dishes staring at boiling soup... Given the premium price if the service matched - 5 stars of deliciousness but sadly our experience was not.

Enjoying and feel very comfortable to have their assist with some special dishes. If you are looking for something authentic and new (Hot Pot) you can give this place a try!

My 2nd time to try their hotpot. All you have to do is scan the menu or get the waiter to help you view in their iPad and there's a wide selection of choices from dumplings to meats and vegetables. One needs to choose or suggested choice dipping sauces at a main counter. If you're craving for hotpot this is one of the better authentic choices to go to with duo spicy soup and their chicken and bone marrow fish maw stock version 😋

🔥🍲 Hotpot Time Had an awesome hotpot and gotta tell you all about it! 🌶️🥣 My friends and I ordered two broths: David's Signature Spicy Beef Tallow Soup and  Dried Fish Maw & Chicken Soup A perfect spicy & soothing duo, good for those who can't handle hot 🥩 We had this crazy Beef and Lamb Roll Combo going around the pot. Everyone can just grab what they want in front of them and cook it their way🥢 🦐🦆We also ordered some David's specials:  Boneless duck feet, prawn mince, tiger prawns, and more... We love the fish mince & cheese tofu puff the most! A DIY game where we stuff our own puff, making each bite a surprise! This wasn't just a hot pot,  it was a fun experience with friends 🧡

You need to arrive as early as possible if you will have a lunch here, as they will close at 3pm. The food and service are good.

Food was fresh and good at the store but the Liven app was apparently down so we were disappointed we couldn't use it, we came to this store specifically to use it. The person at the counter just gave us this drink to compensate for this, not sure when we will be back again.

Was disappointed with the service, they missed several of our orders. Had to remind the waiters 3 times to serve our meat dishes. They served us the wrong drinks. Bite into a rotten apple…. No apology. Overall a very bad experience. I guess we’ll just stir clear of this restaurant…..

Wow we were at the #Davidshotpot at the #Doncaster outlet! The food is fresh and service is impeccable! The broth we got (fish maw and pork bone) are very flavourful!

First time here, food was really flavourful. Tonkatsu soup base really stood out against the rest, wholesome flavour. Kids couldnt stop drinking it. Came with aprons which was definitely helpful Place is great for events, the toilet was really clean and well equiped with baby changing area. Easy parking at the front and wheelchair accessible!

If you are having a cold weather day and you are feeling upset about everything. This place just gives everything you need to make your day. Hot food, hot design, hot peoples. The food is just nice to full your stomach, the spice is just hot enough to make you sweat and the staff is just warm enough to make you happy. It has been the local hotpot restaurant to keep me happy in years and big thanks to Jessica, she makes things so easy and simple

Amazing. We had no idea what we were doing. We tried to follow what all the other tables were doing. The staff were very helpful and the food was absolutely delicious.

Fantastic food and services. Definitely worth to try, especially in this cold winter! Their take away packs also are so fancy!

Found this hot pot not quite near my house. But their soup base taste really nice. All the food was so fresh. Especially duck blood and scallops. They also has kid playground so that you can keep you kids busy playing in there while you enjoy delicious hot pot. PS: some soup base maybe too oily or spicy. You should ask staff for more detail before ordering

Hotpot has gotta be the No. 1 Chinese food experience in winter months and David's won't disappoint. Been to the Doncaster East shop once and the only downside was we were all too busy eating and didn't have much time to talk.

It was a weird but nice experience overall, they have the spray machine for your body to disinfect... but it was located so close to our table we smelled it through the entire dinner. The price tag is quite high for what you get (mostly frozen seafood) and veggie plates are a bit overpriced.

  • 5/5 Joey C. 2 years ago on Google
Their staff are amazing and friendly especially Niki and Lisa! Food are amazing! Love it and will definitely come again!

I had been waiting to try the hot pot from this place for a long time and finally had the chance today. It was pretty quiet for a Saturday at lunch time. We had a full body disinfection upon entry by a nifty machine. Covid has certainly changed the dining experience. We ordered from a paper menu and had the yin yang soup base - tom yum plus spicy beef tallow. We ordered a whole range of items. Everything was presented beautifully. I enjoyed the tom yum soup which had heaps of dried herbs. The squid and assorted meats were very fresh. Service was very good. The only down side was that prices were on the higher end. I will return.

Impressive Sichuan hotpot with good choice of soup bases (not all spicy). Meat, seafood and vegetables all very fresh. Only didn’t get a 5 star because the seafood soup base tasted like the instant noodle powder soup mix.

Super delicious food. We went here for our son's birthday. He loves hot pot and this was one of the best we went to. The service was great too. We loved all the dishes.

  • 2/5 Kolven C. 1 year ago on Google
Nothing special, hot pot stock taste normal, atmosphere and environment was good and clean. Service need some improvement, always can’t get the worker, they are not attentive at all. Don’t have fresh chilli, and the staff say replace with chilli paste. My friends and I there of us get diarrhoea the next morning too, suspect food was not fresh, won’t come back again.

Delicious hot pot. The signature soup base is the must. Banana fritter tastes good. Too delicious to forget to take photo for review. The ambiance is vwry nice. We will come back again.

Loved the food and the staff were very friendly. Had the tonkotsu soup and the signature beef with prawn dumplings, beef, Enoki mushrooms and bass fish and loved the bingsu!

Great hot pot place in Doncaster area. There is a children's area to keep them occupied (COVID19 allowing). Staff were tentative and helpful. The place is clean and well ventilated.

There's nothing better than a hot pot in winter. You have to try this place. Just beware: If you want the "teddy bear" you have to be prepared for the super hot chilli soup! If you take the "double" bowl, you should take a non spicy soup for the other soup. Very good experience overall.

Great dining experience at David’s hot pot Doncaster. Staff showed very warm hospitality right from the start as we entering the restaurant. Great and prompt services throughout. Ada, one of their staff was really lovely and warm. She even got our little toddler a balloon with light to entertain him while we enjoying our hot pot. Food is great, fresh and authentic flavours. Definitely recommended and will surely come back again soon.

We had a great hot pot experience at David’s hot pot (Doncaster east), the food is fresh and the staff is super friendly and helpful. We enjoy the dinner there. Highly recommended! We will be back again!

Probably one of the best hot pot restaurant in Melbourne. Soup base is amazing the meat dishes are fresh and juicy. Although at a busy time they tend to be quite slow at bringing out the dishes. And the spicy options are really really spicy so beware!
