This
was
our
first
visit
to
Haveli
Heritage
India
Restaurant
and
despite
living
in
New
Zealand,
I
don’t
think
it
will
be
our
last
as
we
have
relatives
living
locally
to
it.
It’s
not
often
a
restaurant
lives
up
to
the
hype,
but
this
one
definitely
did.
We
started
with
Onion
Bhaji
(be
advised
one
serving
is
definitely
ample
for
4
people)
and
a
serving
(again
4
ample
portions)
and
one
of
us
enjoyed
a
delicious
Mulligatawny
soup.
The
mains
we
ordered
soon
arrived.
I
opted
for
Lamb
Bhuna
Gosht,
which
was
simply
melt
in
the
mouth
tender.
The
others
in
our
group
ordered
Prawn
Malai,
Lamb
Rogan
Josh
and
Buttered
Chicken.
Three
of
the
four
of
us
cleared
our
plates
and
we
took
the
remainder
of
the
Lamb
Rogan
Josh
with
us
and
that
was
demolished
for
lunch
the
next
day.
The
dishes
were
served
with
a
beautifully
light
Saffron
Rice.
I
could
extol
the
virtues
of
the
food
all
day
long
as
I
consider
my
self
a
bit
of
a
connoisseur
of
Indian
food,
but
this
was
the
best
I’d
had
in
.
.
.
well,
longer
than
I
care
to
remember
actually.
The
staff
were
welcoming,
friendly,
attentive
and
were
more
than
happy
to
explain
and
accommodate
individual
‘requirements’
concerning
strength
of
the
spices
of
each
dish.
I
just
wished
we’d
left
enough
room
for
dessert.
All
in
all
a
fantastic
evening
out
with
family
and
a
great
ambience
within
the
restaurant
to
boot.
