Get the All-You-Can-Eat menu! It's such good value. For less than $40 per person you can get beautifully presented, fresh and delicious sushi, sashimi and other Japanese food. Everything we had was wonderful. We got the plum wine too, but (through bitter experience) discovered that you're not meant to eat the salty AF dried plum the bottom of the glass. I recommend the takoyaki, the salmon sushi plate and the karage chicken. Also, if you leave more than 200 grams of food they will charge you for the leftovers! Warning to all those with eyes bigger than their bellies.

After coming back from Japan a few months back I was craving Japanese. The service was fairly good but the food was very delicious. It is good value I think as you can order as many dishes you like for about $40.

Was a great place to chow down at. The food is of great quality. The BYO wine option was a very try nice addition. I recommend booking at the earlier times when there are less people as you will have faster service, meaning more food! We had so much food I could not finish the last bit!

I’ve been to lots of okami across Melbourne, but this one in station street has to be one of my favourite. Environment to Food was absolutely best. Talking about the Service, i must admit this has to be one of the friendliest amongst other Okami. The Staffs are really amazing especially a ‘Man’ whom i talked with. He told me he belongs from nepal. Absolutely loved his positive attitude toward the costumers. I was with my family & this guy came to take our order, he briefly explained menu to us & also guide us with the right amount of foods that we should order to minimise the food wastage & more types of food we could enjoy. His order taking style was amazing, he didn’t showed any fanciness while taking order but make us felt comfortable while ordering. We enjoyed a lot & shook his hand as well. We also noticed that some of the regulars of this rest used to know & enjoy this boy’s presence. Some of them also shook hand with him. There was another big group of youngsters next to our table. He took the order of them as well. That group also were enjoying & loving the way he was being friendly & helping them with orders. He provided everything we wanted on time. Moreover i could see him enjoying with the kitchenstaff as well. He was making fun & laughing with chefs amidst that hectic period just to calm them down. Absolutely amazing service. He later brought a icecream a candle on to a table celebrating birthday. I was really happy to see that service. We absolutely loved his environment. We hope to see him again.

I recently had the pleasure of dining here, and it was a great experience. This hidden gem offers an inviting atmosphere, an ambiance that exuded tranquility and elegance. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. The melt-in-your-mouth sashimi simply transported my taste buds to new heights of delight. The tempura was light and crispy, perfectly complementing the succulent flavors of the seafood and vegetables. However, the true star of the evening was the plum wine. It was truly exceptional. It had a delightful balance of sweetness with subtle undertones of plum. It was a divine accompaniment to the exquisite dishes, adding an extra layer of complexity to the overall dining experience. Service at this Japanese restaurant was impeccable. The staff members were attentive and knowledgeable. And don't forget to indulge in their remarkable plum wine—it's an experience you won't want to miss.

Okami Fairfield is a good Japanese restaurant for a quick meal, as with all restaurants you eat food you would not prepare at home. We chose the "All you can eat", menu. We were a walk-in so we were glad to be seated. The food was good quality and freshly prepared to order, most were enjoyed and a couple not so much but still good. The wait staff are run off their feet, but as attentive as they can be on a busy night. A couple of dishes were missed as a result but reordered promptly when we reminded them. The drinks menu is good and compact Prices are very good If you have a Seniors Card you get a discount too Okami Fairfield is run at a frantic pace and gets quite noisy. There is lots to be positives about Okami Fairfield so give it a try you won't regret it. Corrado

I been to 3 okamis and this is by far the best in my opinion, they brought the food almost instantly. The staff were super attentive and helpful, and the food tasted amazing thank you for making it a great experience 🥰

So, so disappointed. Turned up for our reservation only to be told they were having IT problems and it was cash only. No apologies. We didn't have cash. We could not find any ATMs in our walk, ended up dining at a Greek restaurant instead. Okami had my name, mobile and email address, not ONCE did they attempt to contact me about the situation. Such poor service, we will NEVER return. Lost a loyal customer.

Fresh salmon sashimi, and other dishes were not bad considering is all you can eat. Though the vegetable kakiage, the oil they used to fry this wasn’t good, maybe it’s just one off day, so just beware. For the price overall is worth it! Though not wanting to waste food but the portions we ordered didn’t quite reflect on what we got. They dare to give 4 portions in one plate making it felt it’s an obligation to finish it. Just remember to ask for 1 portion when you go eat with a few mates. Go for their desserts is delicious. Order as many as you can on the first round, otherwise it gets a long wait.

All you can eat for $39 per person. Couldn’t be happier. Few dud dishes 90% of dishes were absolute quality. Fantastic value for money

Finally went to Okami with my boyfriend and everything was so delicious and fresh! The service was really fast, the waiter was really nice the only thing that lost a star was the service at the start, sat us down and we waited 10 minutes for the waiter to come and take our order but after that everything ran really smoothly. Good pricing but we did go on a public holiday with a $20 surcharge but it was worth it!!

We went to Okami for the first and it was quite a disappointing evening. The entrees were OK but the mains were pretty average. Don't order any beef dishes as the meat is extremely chewy. Our friends' daughter only had an icecream for dinner and they wanted to charge us $20?? The manager had to check the cameras to check if we were saying the truth and being extremely rude, 0 customer service. Supposedly we needed to tell them as we arrived that the kid wasn't going to eat...omg... Never going back there again. Go across the road to Matsuya and you will have a 100% beautiful meal.

Waste of money! We are not going back this place. Food was way too salty and sashimi we ordered not fresh at all. And my daughter found a piece of bone in salmon. How terrible!! It wasn't small piece and half length of my finger so it's very obvious!! The staff took the plate away eventhough I was still eating so I had to stop her to bring the plate bk to the table. Completely spoiled family lunch out on Sunday.

We had a great time there, the service was excellent and only one dish that we did not like. You get more than enough food here. A most enjoyable time had by all😎

When you go to a all you can eat restaurant sometimes a little hard to control your urges. When the food is as tastie as it was, it is really worth it, if you haven't eaten at one of the many Okamis around Melbourne do your self a favour book in and enjoy the evening.

Light meals that can fully satisfy the stomach. Not the ideal place for first timers who haven't had Japanese cusine before however worth the price for accommodating a large group of people. Every restaurant has that 1 staff member that can spoil a customer's experience, though we were swift to react and requested another waiter to cater for us(who did a tremendous job & she's not even Japanese). 5 flies where discovered in our entree meals and an apology is what we only got. Positive vibes: SEAWEED was my TOP notch meal.

Absolutely fantastic. The service is wonderful, very friendly and the staff warmly welcomed us. The food is delicious, fresh, plentiful & very reasonably priced. I'll definitely be going back. Thanks for a great night out.

Food was ok. Incorrect food was delivered regularly and many items missed. Service a bit slow too. Not easy to order specific items and not all hand rolls available on the night. Better options available. Asked for no tuna and had it delivered twice.. Best part of the night was the huge portions of seaweed salad.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch here with my parents. Always love a meal at Okami for value for money and delicious food. This particular had lovely staff who made us feel really welcomed.

After so many years of coming to Okami Fairfield and always enjoying, this is the first time we have had a horrible experience. My family and I had a 7:45pm seating, we ordered our drinks and two wine glasses (no wine just the glasses). After waiting over half an hour asking for our drinks nothing was arriving. Drinks finally arrived after about 45 minutes. They started serving the food which wasn’t what we even ordered to begin with. For 4 people rather than receiving a few dishes at a time (like it used to be in the past), there would be one single dish every 15min per person. The food isn’t the same, used to be very hot, now it’s cold. The portions are no where near what they used to be. I asked many times what was going on because it was taking an extremely long time for the food to arrive. They told me it’s because there is new staff in the kitchen. However it’s not the people in the kitchens responsibility to take the orders correctly so that’s not exactly their fault. When I went to pay, feeling disappointed and ripped off, I asked for the manager, they told me the manager wasn’t there. Now I just got home and I had a look at the receipt, and I just saw that I got charged two times for the corkage, when it was only one bottle. Bad and very disappointing experience after so many years of always enjoying the food and experience here at Okami Fairfield. Certainly not the Okami (Fairfield) we are used to and remember.

Really good all you can eat Japanese food, for the price of 40$ a person Okami gives a lot of value in the items you can order, the food was pretty high quality and there is quite the variety in what you can order. Atmosphere is really nice and the staff there are really great. 10/10 will come again

The all you can eat menu was great! Lots to choose from and a true all you can eat experience. The staff were very helpful and accommodating. Would love to try the standard a la carte menu next time!

Super friendly staff, great ambiance and lovely food! I really loved to see that if there was a certain amount of food wastage that there would be an extra cost to customers. It was cool to see a consequence for food wastage. Just make sure you order to what you can manage to eat :)

Nice meal, great service. Ordered off the menu, took plenty home for next day. Can't do that with the "all you can eat" option.

Dinner for 4 on a Friday where we wanted to order off menu and not the all you can eat. However we were given only the latter menus and had 3 staff within 5 minutes ask us are we ready to order. It was only when the table finally figured out their meals and I asked why no prices on menu when I was told we had the wrong menu and waitperson returned with correct menus and we started again. The nigiri was good, salmon miso a bit watery but cooked ok. The teriyaki steak was tough and mostly inedible. Clearly if you want quality Japanese and a less chain-based gluttonous approach maybe go elsewhere, e.g., across the road to Matsuya.

First time trying this restaurant and unfortunately wasn’t as good as I expected after reading the reviews. Service was ok and the all you can eat is catchy however food wasn’t great. The chicken skewers had an unpleasant boiled taste, chicken curry sauce was terrible and runny, the beef udon noodle was very slimy and vegetables missing. The rice in the sushi was mushy and very tiny stuffing. Overall the flavours weren’t very nice. We mentioned food wasn’t great when we were asked how the food was and the guy at the register didn’t really care and ignored the response.

This was my first ever Japanese restaurant I dined in at celebrating a mates party and the service as well as fhe food of the place was exceptional. We all got the All You can Eat for 38.50 per person and we were all able to eat as much as we want until full. Overall, great first experience will definitely be back!

Our favourite Japanese restaurant. Food was AMAZING. Sooo well priced and so much yummy food in the buffet. Staff were absolutely amazing and so accommodating with allergies. Everything was just perfect.

Been to other Okami and must say that this is the best branch I have been thus far…. Awesome service from the waitress here… with great atmosphere for chatting and celebrating …. Not to mention a very friendly and helpful restaurant manager joanne Highly recommended !!

It’s hard to put in words the experience without sounding rude, but I will try. The food was extremely unpleasant, not fresh and some of the items were inedible. The all you can eat option is very limited and nothing can’t be changed, even if you don’t eat Tuna or other items that they offer on the sushi platter. The salmon tasted off and I’m not sure how they are allowed to even serve it to be honest. The fried food was so oily, you could barely taste what was deep fried. The staff were ok but really did not seem like they wanted to be there. It was our first time at the restaurant and definitely the last time.
