Lee Ho Fook served Chinese cuisine with a modern twist housed in a small yet cozy venue. For lunch we ordered the yum cha brunch which was a set menu consisted of dim sum, noodles, a rice dish and a dessert. We also ordered their famous crispy eggplant dish and white chocolate tarts in addition. For the dim sum, there were some spring rolls, pork/scallop siu mai, prawn/chive dumplings, and prawn crystal skin dumplings. The noodles were rice noodles mixed with enoki mushroom, and the rice was served with slow roasted duck leg. Dessert was almond jelly with pine nuts and oolong syrup sitting on top of the jelly. My favourite dish was the super crispy eggplant sticks which were very flavourful with a slight tangy flavour, and perhaps also the duck dish, with its tender duck leg and fragrant sauce. The almond jelly dessert was rather unique; the jelly had a slight pannacotta texture, and the pine nuts gave it a nice crunch. The other addition to the set menu, the white chocolate tart with its cheesecake filling was devoid of any white chocolate flavour — and it was also the size of my thumb. Overall the food here was average; small-portioned, but more importantly not innovative and lacked flavour complexities. Service-wise, it was pretty quick and efficient, and the staff members were friendly and polite.

Ordered almost everything on the menu to share amongst ourselves and every dish was amazing. The food was prepared with finesse and packed with flavours. We preferred & enjoyed the dishes in the Cold menu over the Hot menu. The King Salmon Sashimi is probably the best we’ve ever eaten, just melts in your mouth. All the desserts were delicious (except the almond jelly to be honest) however we wish the portion sizes were better (too small)! Wish the restaurant had better ground floor seating arrangements for groups that don’t choose to go with the banquet menu. Will be sure to visit again :)

It is a pleasure to go back to Lee Ho Fook after the long lockdown. The restaurant is doing a fixed menu that has some flexibility around the edges. Whenever I dine at Lee Ho Fook, I am challenged and excited by the flavours that the chef puts together. For example last night we ate duck with a cinnamon and star anise sauce. The duck breast had duck leg chinese sausage layered under the skin. While duck works well with sweet sauces, the cinnamon and star anise sauce served by Lee Ho Fook was subtle and delicious complementing the duck rather than overwhelming it as so many sauces served with duck often do. And while we are on the subject of sauces, the meal included an outstanding example of how a sauce can bring together different parts of dish into a balanced whole. We ate steamed Murray cod with a wombok puree on top served with paspaley pearl meat and some more cabbage. The dish was finished off a ginger and spring onion sauce that brought the whole dish together so that while each element stood out as flavours on their own, they also shared the flavour of the sauce which was very delicate with the spring onion balanced by just a touch of ginger. All in all, the eleven courses were all excellent and delicious and sized so that by the end of the meal we felt that we had eaten just enough. Each course was beautifully presented on the plat, this not a restaurant that dresses its food up to look like something it isn't. Lee Ho Fook is about putting interesting flavours together in food well presented and that is a pleasure to eat.

Finally tried this two chef hats Chinese fusion restaurant. We pre ordered the set menu and everything was so perfect. My favs are Peking duck and the porridge. It’s truly filling and worth trying. We also had the tea pairing which helps you digest the food and refresh the tongue.

Started fairly strong and we were super excited. The first 4 treasues dish was amazing, fresh and great flavors. Sadly not all the dishes were as amazing with some hit and misses. The eggplant dish which the waitress pushed us to get was very disappointing. What was even more disappointing was she pushed us to order this dish saying its the most popular dish there without us asking for a recommendation, and the dish was very spicey and I was with my 8yr old. Most other people would have warned against spicey dishes being ordered, let alone recommend it. When I mentioned the dish was very spicey, there wasn't any apology. Which started to let down the night. Clearly sitting at the bar and noticing all the dishes come out. Nobody else had ordered the eggplant and they probably just wanted to get rid of it. The most popular dish by far was the 4 treasures, which was very good. Most of the other dishes we had were ok. If we were to return would definitely get the 4 treasures again along with some new dishes to try.

Had my birthday dinner there. Staffs are very lovely and attentive. The food is amazing, a great balance of Cantonese food with western twist. We were very full by the end of the dinner. Highly recommend.

I dined at Lee Ho Fook for lunch where they serve their 4 course set menu, with a couple of optional dishes extra. Lee Ho Fook is an exciting dining experience. Being able to transform the flavours of traditional Chinese dishes into something completely modern and fine dining. Executed really well, flavours extremely well balanced. The venue is warm, relaxed and filled with natural light. Service was for the most part good. Not as attentive as I would have liked but friendly. The only negative was the slow pace of service. It took about 3.5 hours to serve up the courses which is pretty considerable given there are only 4 courses (we did opt for one additional course making it 5). Only one thing to fault about the food. The batter on the Peking beef (pictured) seemed unnecessary and did not add much to the overall dish. Other than that - the food was incredible all round. I will definitely be back to try their dinner set menu!

It’s a place that’s tucked away in plain sight. Wander through their doors sans up a flight of stairs and there’s the “Lee Ho Fook” sign staring back at you. The setting is intimate but inviting and the staff give you a with tie off the menu and drinks available 👍🏻 . Our food: ~ Prawn Toast with Sea Urchin ~ Crispy Eggplant with spiced red vinegar ~ Fujian Fried Rice ~ Roast Pork Belly & Charsiu glazed Pork Jowl . The food was amazing and that crispy eggplant is definitely something everyone needs to try - they just do it so nicely 🤤 . I was surprised that the sea urchin on the prawn toast was pretty fresh with no oceany taste. It’s creamy & compliments the prawn toast itself pretty well 👌🏻 . All in all, not a bad dish experienced and loved all the food 😇

Yunnan milk curd and scallops were our favorites of the night. The salted garlic chives paired wonderfully with the milk curd, allowing you to savor the freshness of the garlic chives. As for the scallops, the combination of king brown mushrooms and black fungi added a complexity of textures to the dish. The prawn toast and bang bang chicken salad were also very enjoyable. The Peking duck had incredibly crispy skin, and the meat was cooked to perfection. However, both the crispy eggplant and wagyu steak were overly salty, and we had to drink a lot of water to finish those dishes. The night we dined was a bit cold, and we could feel the cold air coming in from somewhere. The heater wasn't turned on until we had almost finished our dinner. The service was a bit inconsistent. I was asked if I needed another drink, but when I declined, my empty glass should have been promptly removed. It wasn't until later when several dishes were served together on our small table that I had to pick up the glass to make room for the dishes.

Been here five times. Food is consistently good. Love the pumpkin seed ice cream, with jam and toasted pumpkin seeds and bits of cocoa nibs. Service is impeccable too! Special mention to a thoughtful staff who relayed the message that my friend and I were sharing a main dish, the kitchen plated it separately for both for us. It was a pleasant surprise for us.

The 12 course set menu sure was nicely plated so I ate with my eyes first BUT my taste buds didn't follow through with a BANG or WOW factor. Good to okay food but underwhelming and overpriced for what it was. It was mainly elements I liked in the dishes not so much the dishes as a whole. What was nice :) was the • Fried bread with soft curds very tasty although it had a heavy hand of sprinkled salt flakes so some bites were unbearably salty • The cumin lamb was nice. I've tasted these flavours before so nothing special but the "stretched out mashed potato" amazed me (texture was stretchy and chewy) and I wanted a bucket of it! •Tea infused dessert ball had a cream or syrup with strong flavoured jasmine tea taste. LOVED • ♡Pandan mocktail soda. So unique and sooo tasty. Slowly sipping it throughout the night so I could savour it :) • ♡Steamed fish and shaved calamari was beautiful and perfectly cooked. I had to lean back to take a moment! Only dish I truly loved. Not so good :( • The wagyu dish (main) was literally just Char kway teow noodles with weird tasting, off-putting wagyu slices. We wondered if it was even wagyu. Rest of the dishes like entrees were meh.

By far the best duck I’ve ever had! Every dishes are awesome! But the duck is too impressive! Didn’t know you can make it so crispy yet so juicy at the same time! I will be returning and highly recommend for everyone! The staffs are extremely friendly as well. They also introduce each dishes for you. Very nice dining experience!

Life changing meal! Every dish were perfect portions and the Asian fusion was absolutely perfect. They didn’t lose any authenticity and managed to accentuate flavours in a sophisticated and balanced meal! They were presented beautifully and everything was practical while looking visually. Service was absolutely lovely and overall, an amazing place to go to! Major props to the two male waiters for making the meal more special with their pleasant service and great explanation of the dishes! 10/10 for any special occasion or just a treat yourself moment! My personal favourite had to be the fried bread, personally I’ll never see bread and dips the same way ever again 🥲

I've found this place by recommendation of our AirBnB host and it was amazing. Very unassuming location and entrance, but the food is great. Eggplant and duck are my favourite meals there, but pretty much anything is guaranteed to be of a high quality. Definitely worth a visit when you're in Melbourne

Had a nice date night at Lee Ho Fook and some very nice food. Some of the flavours were very classic Cantonese, but there we also some surprises. We went for the Eight Courses and felt very comfortable in the dining room, the music is definitely nice in that it outs you at ease and removes any awkwardness. How can you feel uncomfortable with Queen playing in the background? Staff were very nice too! Faux shark fin soup was very nice and the portion leaves you wanting more. The spring roll was interesting as the Nori wrapped fish adds an additional element which I hadn't experienced before. I felt the dumpling course could have been more special as the filling was something that tastes very homemade. The steamed Murray cod was one of the heroes of the menu as the fish was perfectly cooked along with a beautiful accompaniment of silken tofu, fermented chilli and black bean. This was absolutely delicious! The odd dish was the roast duck with abalone. Although each element on the plate tasted nice in isolation, it was hard to understand how all of it related as it was brought together by beef tendon. It was at this point that I realised that we didn't have cutlery besides chopsticks and a spoon. This made it very hard to have little bites as chopsticks tend to be made for mouthfuls. The claypot with grilled Blackmores Wagyu was very good and the sauce with the beef was reminiscent of a black pepper sauce from a Cantonese restaurant. The claypot rice had the desired crispy bits from the bottom of the claypot and the mushroom sauce made it very moreish. The granita with coconut sorbet was refreshing and the sweets at the end rounded off a really pleasant evening.

🥢 weekend yumcha brunch 💛 pork & scallop siumai 🥩 wagyu char kuay tiew 🐽 bbq pork puff 🍞 prawn toast 🐷 fujian style braised meat 🍤 prawn har gao 🧋 hk milk tea ice cream 🏠: @leehofook 📍: 11-15 Duckboard Place 📝: Lee Ho Fook means ‘good fortune for your mouth’. The food served here is based on Chinese cuisine, but elevated to a whole new level. They currently have Yumcha Brunch on weekend lunch and Early Autumn Course Dinners available. ❤️: The Yumcha Brunch we had was delicious and filling. We started off with a selection of signature dimsum, including 💛🖤 Steamed pork and scallop siu mai with smoked roe, 🍤 Classic steamed prawn har gao, 🐽 BBQ char siu wagyu beef puff, and 🍞 Prawn toast, sweet and sour sauce—all of which were delicious. The dishes that followed included the 🥩🍜 Wok fried rice noodles, wagyu beef, enoki mushrooms and garlic chives (10/10 for this), 🦆🐷 Fujian style master stock braised meat plate with rice, and a sweet delight inspired by Hong Kong and the regions surround and of the season—🧋🇭🇰🍦 HK style milk tea ice cream with coffee jelly, crumble, and condensed milk cream.

Came here for lunch and had some of the noodle and wine specials. The clam and crab noodles were particularly nice, chock full of perfectly cooked clams and lots of springy noodles. Washed down with the rose, was a great little lunch. Also had the spring onion pancake with silken tofu and trout roe - a little greasy but pretty tasty combination.

Overall an enjoyable night - high quality ingredients and an inventive menu with different flavours. Flavours on the heavier and saltier side than my preference. My favourite dishes were the starters (pictured) - the four bites of seafood were fresh and had interesting and distinct flavours, the fried bread with curds dipping sauce was a standout, and the crab tofu pudding had complex flavours.

Wowwww had the set menu and am blown away! The balance of flavours, spice/heat and textures is phenomenal, really impressive menu. The baby cucumber starter is the perfect example of what happens when everything is perfectly balanced. Standouts were the baby cucumber, prawn toast and red bean/cacao dessert due to their unique twists. The signature tea was the perfect accompaniment. The service was also amazing with very attentive staff. Highly recommend! P.s. forgot to take a photo of the crispy eggplant before shoving it in my mouth lol but that was also delicious

Overall a nice dining experience and the food was tasty. We had the scallops, eggplant, half Peking duck and duck hot pot. Duck in both dishes was succulent. Servings were pretty good for the price but wine was very expensive. Service was friendly and attentive. Food came out quickly, but it was a quiet night probably cos of the bad weather. We enjoyed our evening sitting at the chef's table and watching the chefs in the kitchen.

Exceptional! From walking in the door - the service was fantastic. We seated at the bar and watched the chefs perform their magic and present perfect courses. We enjoyed the banquet, which included aged duck, lobster with xo sauce and wagyu beef. The evening was definitely a celebration of food!

Three of us attended the restaurant after hearing good things. We ordered the Sichuan Bang Bang Chicken Salad, a serving for 3 - the serving is large and if having other items I would suggest a smaller serve. The salad itself was tasty but very salty, it also contained jellyfish which is not listed on the menu. The pork and chive dumplings were okay, nothing special. We ordered the Pork Belly only to be told they had sold out, waiter then attempted to upsell a main which was double the price. Received a serving of the crispy eggplant, which we did not order. A fault of the waiter and it was offered complimentary. It was way too sweet for our liking. On a positive note, the Lee Ho Fook Pecking Duck was nice, but nothing to rave about. Overall, small servings and average food, flavours were good but I wouldn’t come back in a hurry.

Incredible experience! My friend and I came here for dinner and we had the best time. The service was friendly, helpful and went the extra mile to make us comfortable - Joyce in part was fantastic. The atmosphere was beautiful and comfortable and stylish and the food was to die for. The crispy eggplant in particular was spectacular. Would highly recommend!

We had a dinner reservation at 8pm for a group of 10. Unfortunately we had to wait 20 mins for our table due to the previous diners being late and delayed the seating. Then our first dish wasn’t served till 9pm, this was particularly hard when you’ve got pregnant guest, kids and seniors. Fortunately the food made up for the flaws in the service or it wouldn’t be worth a single dollar. Every single dish served had no faults, taste and quality was amazing. Lobster noodles were the best I’ve tasted in Melbourne, and same could be said for many other dishes served. I do have to acknowledge that the store manager was very attentive to all the request and dietary requirements made, with all of these followed through from email chains to the night itself. In summary, amazing food but service needs to be reviewed to improve the overall experience for your diners.

Loved my experience at Lee Ho Fook ! Very elegant, the service was impeccable, beautiful ambiance with perfect lighting. You could see the menu without having to squint your eyes to see. I did a last minute booking on a weekend and managed to get a table without any issues. The menu was very well explained to us. The price is $$$, very much worth the taste. Beautiful texture and flavours. The location is fantastic. Very close to car park spots, multiple bars nearby if you want to carry on with drinks and a dance. I really enjoyed it and will be going back with my friends. Would love everyone to experience fine dining at a great price.

This was great! We knew we were going fine chinese fine dining. At that was it. We eat a la carte and every plate was better than the lrevious one. They were all delicious, well portioned, well presented. Service was impeccable. Ambiance is great. This is now in my list of favorites in Melbourne!!!!!

Fine dining Chinese food, in a fancy modern format. Very easy to spend too much money here! Everything was tasty, but I especially loved the fried eggplant and dumplings.

Safe to say that they have the best roast duck in Melbourne. I don’t normally like Asian fusion but Lee Ho Fook doesn’t just do creatives, they also execute them to perfection. We had the set menu with wine pairing, and have to say we were amazed by most of the dishes, except dessert, which is understandable as Chinese are not super strong in making western style desserts. I would definitely come back for the amazing food and good service.

Semi fine dining experience in the melbroune CBD with seasonal menu. We came for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the food and service. It's a set menu with no a la carte option but they cater for vegetarian too. Food is on the smaller portion as you would expect in this kind of restaurant but flavour wise they pack a punch. Food - 9 Service - 9 Vibe - 8 Price - $$$$
