There are many great freinds for your dog if you have one. It is my dog's second home. Lots of space for different walks, picnics and swimming. Lots of regular people happy to be out with their best freind.

Great park with a few lovely walking paths along the creek and parkland around it. With an open pitch for Football and an enclosed pitch used for Cricket, Lacrosse an enclosed dog park this is a popular, well used community park. Also home to the Eltham minute railway two playgrounds and a BBQ area. The only downside is that in the peek of summer and many weekends (particularly when the railway is open) it can attract more visitors than the already large Carparks can handle and often creates a lot of congestion in and out of Eltham.

Nifty little playground area, but is like the poor cousin of the larger playground on the other side of the oval. Still, two BBQ areas, a small flying fox, swings, some climbing structures and lots of space in which to run around. Heaps of car parking.

Good looking park, has a small playground, just note you are unable to turn right when you leave, left turn only.

Eltham Lower Park is a large park with great facilities and scenic natural bushland. Three different sites are available for picnics; the western end (within the rail loop) has tables and shelter. The northen playground has great equipment, shelters tables, toilets and BBQs. The southern site is quietest and has basic play equipment, toilets, tables, shade cloth and BBQs. The bike/walking track provides access along the creek and into Eltham. Highlight is of course the marvellous Diamond Valley Railway.

We had a birthday party here yesterday and it was fabulous. Enough tables for everybody and a barbecue. An undercover gazebo with more tables and chairs. An hours worth of train rides and very friendly conductors and drivers. A lovely four hours spent in comfortable surroundings.

Eltham Lower Park in Eltham offers a fantastic family-friendly environment. The park's serene ambiance, well-maintained green spaces, and various recreational facilities make it an ideal spot for families. One notable highlight is the miniature railway, providing an additional layer of enjoyment for both children and adults. The park's overall atmosphere, coupled with the charming miniature railway, creates a delightful experience for family outings.

Nice infrastructure! Lots of cool activities to do with kids - oval, beautiful park nearby, and even a tiny railroad! The only downside is that the play area gets super crowded

Great park area. We went to enclosed playground but I remember coming here as a child and seeing the miniature railway that is still here and operating. There is plenty for people to do here

Fantastic park all round. There is heaps going on here! The miniature railway is an icon of Eltham and it’s great to see that it is still operational. The playground is a great place for the kids as well it was upgraded a number of years ago now it’s safe to say it was a good investment. The only thing I don’t like about this place is the cricket club here there are a terrible club and the panthers are way better!

Best place to take your dog for a swim in the river on a hot summer day. There will be plenty of other dogs for your dog to socialise with. 🙂🙂

A pretty good park with a Cricket ground that doubles as Lacrosse pitch and a fully enclosed Dog Park. There's also another green that's used for mixed sports and a miniature railway that runs around the Main Road and Creek section of the park. On the downside the drainage can be a bit rubbish after high rainfall and the dog park element is lacking better planning, particularly considering there are probably more people using this space to exercises and socialise dogs than use it for sports over the course of a typical week. There is also a number of trails around the park and plenty of circuits around the park as well as longer walks you can take starting from there.

Mini trains, river nearby, lots of trails, dog friendly areas, 2 minutes from Eltham Town for cafes, supermarkets & shopping.

  • 5/5 Anthony S. 1 year ago on Google
A lovely day out with the kids. The miniature railway is a winner, even when busy there is barely any wait time. The playground has something of everything.

  • 4/5 Siew Kiat T. 1 year ago on Google
Nice park. The bbq facilities are good. Finding a spot in the car park can be a problem though. The highlight of the park is the miniature trains of course. I like to support the enthusiasts behind the trains but the queue is often so long that it is not worth waiting for.

  • 4/5 Chrissi H. 1 year ago on Google
Roadworks equipment have been using part of this part as a turning circle, leaving a vast tract of muddy soil around what used to be a wonderful picnic/bbq area. They’ve also taken up many of the parking spaces to store equipment that’s not being used. 👎🏼👎🏼

Enjoyed the playground, slides, climbing gym, butterfly things to hop on. Toilets and carpark nearby, sports field across the carpark. It's also beside Hohnes road playhouse which was excellent.

Tucked away in park this kindergarten was the perfect venue for children's birthday party, play area, swings, climbing apparatus and a safe area where they can supervised and monitored. The kitchen had everything required and a fun afternoon was had by all.

This is an amazing park. Aside from the well maintained ovals, toilets and car parks, the park has one of the best miniature railways around, a horse riding paddock and a fantastic kids playground. It adjoins the Diamond Creek and Yarra River. It has a great circuit of trails that link to the Main Yarra Trail. A fantastic resource.

Best value in Australia. You do not get a steam train, it is diesel.

  • 5/5 Leigh M. 3 years ago on Google
Ovals that sit next to where the miniature railway operates and next to the walking track that stretches from diamond creek to westerfolds and beyond. Fair amount of parking spaces that lay around the edge of the ovals. There’s also a few playgrounds as well for the kids.

I have run all the creek and river trails in greater Melbourne. And so I have run Diamond Creek Trail. The starting point of which is Eltham Lower Park, right on the confluence of Diamond Creek and the Yarra. And so I have experienced the park before sunrise and in the heat of day. Like all urban parks in Melbourne the local Council does a great job of maintaining them. Its a great spot.
