Was really nice being on a farm in the city. I never knew this place existed. Having a meal with chickens peeking around your feet was quite the experience. Im not sure if the weather or maybe something else contributed to hardly any animals but nevertheless we got to see a few. A nice family day out.

After reading some of the recent reviews about lack of animals we were a bit worried before our visit today. But it was wonderful, plenty of classic farm animals for the kids to view and pat. The guinea pigs were so cute, plus goats, pigs, horses, ducks, geese, peacock, sheep. Lovely rambling orchards, veggie gardens and flower gardens. The children loved it and it was great value for money. We are at the farm cafe which was brilliant!

Our long overdue Collingwood Children's Farm visit lived up to the mark. Enjoyed the atmosphere and the experiences (especially, petting of some of the cutest Guinea pigs and the 🐔/🐓 parade). I wish more experiences/encounters/talks were in offer. On the day of our visit, there was nothing for sheeps, horses, cows and the pig.

Much loved by our family and always a story. What’s there not to love here. Kids roaming around at their own pace, brushing the cows, patting the Guinea Pigs, feeding the horses, chasing the goats and dodging the geese! We even picked up a Peacock tail feather on a visit. Plenty of seating around. Amenities mostly centralised around cafe. Don’t forget the boots when it’s been wet. Paid parking nearby and can get very busy on fine weather days on the weekend.

A lovely wedding venue! I’ve been lucky enough to attend two weddings held at the Collingwood Children’s Farm, and it’s a beautiful venue. There are peacocks freely roaming the grounds, and you can also see goats, sheep, Guinea pigs and more.

Good farm to take young children. Has a variety of good produce as well inside the farm. Lots of space and is just outside the city. Cafe serves good desserts and coffee. Tickets can be booked walk-in.

Amazing place to visit - not only for kids. I actually enjoyed escaping the city and enjoying the nostalgia. Very interesting for kids to learn and understand farms, spend time with animals and get to know them. Enjoyed spending time with the goats and spotting all animals that were roaming around the land. Also loved the gardens, the different plans and how everything was laid out. There’s also a little cafe onsite that offers drinks, pastry, muffins and other delicious looking dishes. Worth the visit!

Reasonably priced for a farm experience for the kids and maybe for the city slickers. They have everything what a farm would have except cows! Couldn’t find them. Lovely people who works there. It’s a very laid back setting. Stroller and wheelchair friendly in most places, cafe with a good selection and decent coffee. Bring a mat and find a spot for a bite. Parking is reasonably priced. Probably the only feedback is if they could have a clearer map and maybe let us know the feeding times. Noting that this is not a zoo 😬 Overall good place to introduce your kids to some animals... although the chicken was as big as my kid!

Getting married soon and looking for the venue? This is the one! Its a beautiful farm setting with lush gardens, a charming barn that transforms into a reception space, and a stunning cottage where the bride can get ready and rest, it's just like a fairytale world! The gorgeous tree under which the ceremony is held is also the highlight of this place. It's absolutely massive, and it provides the natural canopy for the couple and the guests :) The surrounding gardens are simply stunning too! with a range of flowers and yup, you heard it right, animals that gives the unique backdrop for the photographs! It's a true gem in the heart of Melbourne. Just don't look further! haha.

We had a great time visiting this farm with our 14 months-old. Staff is kind and knowledgeable. Plenty of opportunities for little ones to interact with animals or watch them. It was much bigger than we thought too and really pretty! We will be back!

A great place to take the little ones to see some real life farm animals such as cows, chickens, goats, pigs, sheep, geese, peacocks. You can pet some of the animals such as the cows, goats, and sheep. There is a cafe and many tables and benches where you can have a snack. Clean toilets and a few parents rooms where you can change your little ones. Plenty of parking but also located near some buses and the Victoria Park train station.

Collingwood Farm was marvellous!! Cannot believe that this incredible place is within metropolitan Melbourne! My toddler saw a Peacock, Goose and a pig for the first time in her life. She also got to interact very closely with the sheep, chickens and the Guinea pigs. We could spend a whole weekend here without getting bored! Also, the staff were super sweet and the cafe was lovely. Finally, to top it all off, the farm had a really beautiful community atmosphere. It's truly a special Melbournian treasure! We'll try to visit often.

As soon as you walk-in 🥾, it will teleport you to a country farm. You won’t believe that you are just 4km away from the Melbourne CBD and NO skyscrapers 🏙 whatsoever to spoil the country farm effect. If you are a first timer, you will be surprised to see that this place exists so close to the CBD and that too in Collingwood. +🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️It is nice and calm for a walk. You may be able to complete the circuit within 30-60minutes. + A sturdy pram is better than a stroller as the track isn’t smooth or better if you can use a baby carrier/sling. + 🅿️ Paid (with boom gate) parking available next to the farm entrance. + ☕️ There is a cafe on site (didn’t try, so can’t comment but it looked decent) + Kids will learn some facts about animals using ‘What can you see?’ board as well as they have a play area. They can pat goats 🐐 and sheep 🐑. + Staff were nice, informative and friendly. + Keep in mind that this is a ‘farm’ and not a ‘petting zoo’. - Wish there were more animals as a few enclosures were empty. - They should consider adding more sign boards. - Last entry is at 2.30 pm.

Take your kids here! The geese, ducks & peacocks as well as stray birds were roaming around 😍 My toddler loved interacting with the animals. We walked all around the premises. Visited the pony’s, cows, chickens, sheep and horses that are located further back. The atmosphere was peaceful. The gardens were beautiful. We visited on a rainy Saturday so most activities were limited. But nevertheless we loved it. Just make sure you wear mud-friendly clothing & shoes. Bring an umbrella too. The workers were friendly. They have an area that caters to children with drawing tables. Lots of tables to sit at for lunch.

Great place to relax and enjoy the nature with the family and it is close to Melbourne city. You can have breakfast or lunch and at the same time enjoy the nature. Fresh fruit and veggies are sold at the entrance. Locally grown without chemicals added to them.

A fun and low key farm for kids, there are daily activities for children, with our favorite being the Guinea pig patting. There are free roaming peacocks around the farm which is fun to see and also a goat enclosure to give them a Pat and a scratch. Entry prices are reasonable and they often have a farm stall where they sell their farm grown fruit and veges

Nice place for kids to see animals and pat them. It was difficult having a pram as pushing it was hard given the track was not paved. No signs to guide you through the place. In general it was nice experience and Kids enjoyed a lot.

We had our son's 3rd Birthday here last weekend and despite really bad weather the staff were absolutely amazing and so incredibly helpful! We have been going for years and the kids love it but this experience last weekend was just above and beyond what we expected. So we would definitely recommend for a fun day out or for a kids birthday party.

The Farm Café was the perfect venue for our wedding. Having the ceremony and reception at the same venue meant that the day was relaxed and minimal effort for us or our guests. The venue has big outdoor areas, yet felt cosy enough and the guests weren’t too spread out. It has beautiful areas for photos, and looks like a country wedding with the convenience of a city location. The food was delicious and the option of a five course menu meant that no one went home hungry. Dietary requirements were also well catered for with equally delicious options. Bartenders and staff on the night were friendly and accommodating. Grace and Steph were amazing event planners, and made the whole process so easy and worked with our extreme indecisiveness. In the end, we were able to enjoy the day without any stress!

Delightful farm close to the city where kids can feed the animals. The cafe can be accessed independently of the farm and while they do have additional menu items to the farm only menu, you can order those items and have them in the farm, you just have to ask.

We attended the Collingwood Children’s Farm as a family outing today and it exceeded our expectations. My children ages 4 and 5 enjoyed the interactive experience. We got to brush the cows, hold and pat the guinea pigs and then go on the feeding walking. On the feeding walk, the kids participated in feeding chickens, ducks, pigs, goats and sheep. All the food was supplied by the farm. There is a café on the premise where you can purchase drinks and food, or you can bring a picnic lunch. I think younger and older kids will enjoy the experience too, this time we found that our kids were the ideal age. This is a great value activity for the kids. If you have the small ideas app or entertainment book you can get a further discount.

Collingwood Children’s farm is a great place to take your kids in a farm setting close to the city. It was great to see various farm animals and kids enjoy the interaction with them. The various animal talks were quite informative as well. The peacocks were the highlight of our visit.

A fantastic place to visit with young kids, small enough to feel intimate with the animals but big enough to have lots of diversity. Great Cafe and lots of DIY activities in the barn. We signed up for an annual pass which seems amazing value and will return frequently with our grandson.

If you hv children, it is great to bring them to this lovely Children's farm. In Melbourne itself. Must visit the Guinea pigs areas. They are so cute and cuddly. There is also a small restaurant area to eat.

A fun farm experience in the city! You definitely felt like you were in the country. I'd recommend going in the morning when the sessions are on, that way it's more interactive and there is more to do. On this particular morning they had pig feeding and Guinea pig patting and it was perfect for my toodler! Staff are friendly and the cafe serves lovely food and coffee too.

Wonderful place where we had lots of fun . This farm is a kind of petting zoo where we were able to feed the animals. The property was very nice and authentic. Very well maintained. My son and I fed some chickens, goats and some sheep . We were able to roam inside the sheep enclosure, it was so amazing to walk among them . We were also able to pet some of them . Soooo soft . There was also a horse expo going on in that place and we looked at some horses too . The food in this place was lip smacking good . A limited menu but tasted very good . The whole property has a very special place in our hearts .

We went there for Winter Solstice bonfire and it was amazing. Food trucks were good. But would be nice if there were a little more entertainment for kids. There was only one person in sheep costume, would be nice if there were something more for the kids. But over all it was perfect.

Great working farm to visit with the family. Plenty of animals, including feeding sessions and petting areas, plus fruits and vegetable gardens and a kids play area. There's also a cafe available though limited shaded areas throughout. Bring a hat and plenty of sunscreen. Beware of snakes during warmer months. The signs there are not for show! Parking available nearby though can be a bit costly.

Such a great place to take the kids and let them enjoy such beautiful farm animals and more right in the city. The staff are very helpful, there is plenty of space to sit and eat, explore and for the animals to be seen. Good activities for the kids to get involved in to like feeding the animals, watching the cows get milked, petting the guinea pigs and more. Great onsite cafe too which does good coffee and decent food. Worth a visit and won't break the bank

  • 5/5 Paul R. 6 months ago on Google
First, an expectation check: CCF is not comparable to a zoo, or even to bigger kid-friendly farms you may have visited. It's not one of the best things to do in Melbourne, and you probably won't touch many animals. But it's still a great experience for young kids and their parents, where you can get up-close with some classic farm animals - plus some others, like guinea pigs. The space in and around the Barn is lovely. The birds (peafowl, chickens, geese) are beautiful. The signposting isn't super clear but you can also follow the path through the fields, which I think is worth the short walk, even though you can see most of it from the Main Yarra Trail for free. You can also enter the goat pen next to the stables, where you can touch the goats if you want to. My child was completely done within a couple of hours and then couldn't wait to get out of there, but it was still worth the admission price. If you're travelling from further afield then you could combine CCF with the Convent and a walk along the river, at least to Dights Falls or Deep Rock (the farm itself actually doesn't make much of its riverside location). CCF includes a cafe, and there are places to eat in the Convent. Most importantly, the animals seem happy, and CCF is a not-for-profit that's always been very community-focused. Those are big reasons why it gets five stars from me.

It is a good farm not too far from city. Though the animals here are less than Mayuna farm for instance but still it has got something different. The feeding activitiy let you stand next to each animal you feed and walk freely between them. Good cafe inside this farm to relax for some time and have refreshments. Parking is very close to this farm but it's paid.

This could be a great spot to entertain kids but when we visited we hardly saw many farm animals. I am not sure if it was due to some covid safe plans by the farm, but we only saw sheep, goats, chickens and Guinea pigs. And the cafe was closed. This was not worth the 44 dollars we paid for entry. The good thing that came out of this visit was the Convent next door that had an open cafe and nice open green spaces.

(Translated by Google) It costs 12 yuan for adults and walks outside without going in. There are not many animals and there are not many places. There is a small fresh cafe, and a drink and cake is good. Generally nothing to recommend. (Original) 要收门票大人12块,没有进去就在外面走走,地方不大动物也不多,有个小清新cafe,来杯饮料和蛋糕还是不错的。 普通没有什么可推荐。

Whether you're a child or a grown up as long as you love animals you'll enjoy your time here. If as an adult you feel a bit funny going in without kids you can always say you went in to dine or have coffee at their excellent cafe. It is also a place where you can pat sheep, goats, guinea pigs etc. and experience farm life yet remain in the city.
