Banyule Flats Reserve

Tourist attraction β€’ Park

πŸ‘πŸ‘ Went there to find Gang Gang cockatoos. A lifer for me. And it did not disappoint me. I found it munching on hawthorne barriers not far from the entrance. And found some red rumped parrots, a bonus. People often mention walk, Great, Nice, area, spot, birds,

Banyule Swamp is a haven for natural wildlife, no hand-feeding of birds makes for a very natural experience. No dogs allowed. Many water birds, bush birds, kangaroos at a distance, echidna near the adjacent billabong.

Great place for birdwatching. Luckily I didn't need a toilet as I couldn't find them. Owners of dogs seem to disregard the on leash signage.

How lucky are we to have such a wonderful nature place, so close to the city. We are very fortunate πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯πŸ’₯

Diverse suburban reserve with the Yarra flowing through. Spent a morning birdwatching and identified 50 different species!

Nice play area with many play equipment, however needs to upgrade to the mats, as the mulch is quite harmful. Kids get hurt, as they fall while playing and the mulch goes through the clothes as well..also needed a bit of cleaning as found dog poop at many places near the equipment Inspite of warning signage placed.

I jumped into the spot when I brought my son to attend a soccer session in it and the whole reserve was so beautiful and quiet. I love it.

Been here many times. Nice reserve situated around the banyule swamp where you can relax on a small seated area plus walk or ride around the trail. Area is well maintained and good for pets

Went there for a nocturnal twilight wildlife watching tour with a bunch of naturalists, from the local Warringal Conservation Society. Unfortunately Banyule City Council arborists had recently destroyed some of the older established Acacias and habitat trees, which the local population of Krefft's Gliders depend on, so we missed finding them in the usual areas.

Part of the Yarra trail with many interesting things. The river goes off in another direction leaving the billabongs behind.

Have not been there for years. Great to see the car park is now sealed with marked parking spaces. My 14 week old puppy enjoyed the soft grass pitchs.

Gorgeous bush walks so close to the bustle of Melbourne suburbia and with views of the city. Hard to believe you're near civilisation sometimes. Lots of wildlife seen. Kangaroos, rabbits, loads of different birds, and so on.
