I went around this market today and really enjoyed it. There is meat, seafood, fruit and veg, some clothes etc and some nice cheap food to eat for lunch there. All the seafood, meat and veg seemed cheap so many bargains to get here. I will be back

An extensive undercover fruit & vegetable market that goes beyond f&v. A fun place with a wide range of quality and organic f&v, very price competitive. Many luncheon options, our choice today was the crepes which were terrific (photos). Went back for more crepes....

Preston Market Reviewed on 25/8/2023 It was a weekdaymid-morning. It was not busy. The stores were well organised in sections, and easy to find what we want. Some store staff / storekeepers were not friendly when I approached them to take photos for Ggogle Maps. I was not sure whether I missed them, there were not many eateries, and only limited furniture to sit down for a bite or coffee. The market was more like a meat and seafood market. The prices were reasonable, probably due to competition among the sticks. The vegetables prices were higher than what I paid for somewhere else. The floor of the market is from ideal. It must be through years of neglect. The market will not around much longer, despite the storehouses and residents in Preston have been call8ng the owner and council to change their mind. The piece of land is prime real estate, and it is roo naive to give up redevelopment opportunity.

The revamped Preston Market looks amazing with lots of niche stores to buy that unique gift. There is a lovely store which sells unique, hand painted ceramic pots. Their website is dannie.com.au

Enjoyable half day walk at the Preston Market. I have been to a few local markets in Melboure. Comparing Preaston to Vic Mkt, South Melb Mkt, Camberwell Mkt and Dendenong Mkt, I enjoy the vibe of this local market the most. Very local and down to earth with extensive variety of food selection at very reasonable price. Would go back.

One of the best places to go to on a Saturday morning if you love a fully packed carpark. You get to sit in your vehicle for thirty to forty minutes watching people fighting over carpark spots. Then if you are lucky or angry enough you may score a park. There should be a documentary made about this market. Maybe David Attenborough can do one for us.

A good place to buy all your fresh meats and sea food. This market has a wide variety of sea food like crabs, fresh fish, prawns, lobsters, mussels, calamari, clams and much more. There are also different cuts of chicken, beef, mutton, veal etc. The variety is endless. The market also has a lot of vegetables and fruits. Other shops with other household items are there too. A place to definitely experience.

Its a kind of vibe to see around when to Preston market for some purchase and exploring from West Footscray, our usual go to market is Footscray market compared to footscray market its spacious, cleaner and more options for food and dining but unfortunately everything seemed to be expensive. Its much more cheaper for everything in Footscray market. But the architecture, parking, spacious everything is a plus for Preston but not the pricing.

A local gem inside of Preston for the past 20+ years, with cafes of every cuisine, hot food, clothing & jewellery shops, fruit and vegetable stores and a seafood and butcher section! Easy to get around, lots of parking and a buzzing atmosphere from Wednesday’s- Sundays.

It’s one of the superb market we have been travelling all the way from Geelong to Nothern Melbourne for fresh produce & astonishing eateries. Cheap & massive parking spaces & toilets. Always been amazed by friendly vendors with affordable yet cost effective plants & groceries. Grabbed these two amazing lemon tree & chili adding to our garden. Can’t wait till our next visit.

Many options for veggies, fruits and meat. Prices not much different from shops. Only advantage is wider range of cuts of meat and choices of veggie shops in one place to compare quality. Very busy market. Clean Plenty of parking. Close to train station so ideal if using public transport. Recommended

I was so impressed with this market, having never visited before! They had such a wide selection of fresh produce (a lot more affordable than supermarkets - and better), meats, seafoods, fresh and organic bread and a huge Asian supermarket! We stopped for some Mexican at a food truck at the main entrance and the food was great! A must visit!

A good place to shop, but, you need to get in early if you want a parking spot. There is only limited seniors and disabled parking available. Wheel chair access to all the shops is good if you can get a park. Alternatively, there are plenty of buses (903, 527,) available in Murray Rd if you want to use public transport.

Great variety on offer and I especially like the competitively priced fresh meat and seafood. Preston market is an icon and well used by locals and residents from the northern suburbs and beyond. It's much more conveniently accessible than the QV market and has everything you may need. The European deli food is good as is the artisan bread and cakes on offer. Will be a shame if and when this place is demolished for more apartments. Car Parking can be a bit a bit of a nightmare during peak times

Preston Market, is a essential Melbourne experience. The food, the vibe and the best hot jam donuts in town. Coffee, cakes, amazing bakery's; worth the line up. Fresh fruit and vegetables, that are actually affordable.

Love a good multicultural market. This place is well known with lots of different food available. Can easily waste 2-4 hours here. Need to visit soon as the place will shortly close down towards the end of 2023 to be redeveloped and will loose it current ambience and old world charm. Parking is a pain at peak times.

The culture of this little market in Melbourne's north is fabulous. Its range of meat, fruit and veg are of decent quality and reasonably priced. I love the range of artisan restaurants such as the south Melbourne dim sum shop, the Mexican restaurant, cannoli shop and French bakery. I would highly recommend going to get decent groceries at decent prices as well as artisan goods such as cheeses, jams and the like. An Asian grocer also is placed at the market and I would recommend visiting there as well. I would also recommend attending when a festival is being held at the market for the vibes and culture it brings to the north of Melbourne.

Love it! We went to T’s Vietnamese Classics and we loved it! They are very friendly and their energy is the best!- we also tried the hot donuts and fresh croissants. Preston Market is the best place to go for fresh fruit, veggies and good food!

An absolute institution for the northern suburbs. Great priced meat, fruit and vegetables and international foods that are hard to get elsewhere. Cone and do your shopping and get some lunch while you're here.
