Hawkstowe Picnic Area

Picnic ground

👍👍 Came here on a weekday for a walk so not many people out and about, which was nice! Plenty of walking tracks to explore here but not well signed so best to download an app like Alltrails before heading out here. The walk I went on was fairly exposed so sunscreen and sun protection is a must. Popular... People often mention area, walk, picnic, tables,

Spacious picnic grounds. Well maintained. Lots of sitting spots and benches. Easy walking trails available. The homestead available for viewing purposes but it’s closed on holidays. Toilets available but could do with more cleaning. Gas barbecues available. Sheltered sitting areas also available. Saw some kangaroos. It was very peaceful for relaxing. Beware of mosquitoes. They were lots of them. No kids playground available. Ideal for Day out or even family catch up. Highly recommended.

Plenty of walking tracks to explore here but not well signed so best to download an app like Alltrails before heading out here. The walk I went on was fairly exposed so sunscreen and sun protection is a must. Popular spot with mountain bikers too. Lovely walk to the wetlands area. Some picnic tables and I saw one bbq near the homestead and car park.

Nice place for families. The way down is a bit slippery for cars but it is ok. There is a dedicated parking and also there's a BBQ.

I love the park so much best sunny day outs was an awesome picnic to be exploring at and finding new places around to explore the nature bushes! Very relaxing and comfortable to sleep on the grass all day long with the warm sunny weathes! ☺

Needed a break far from the madding crowd;-) Nice walk through the gardens and good photos to be taken at the homestead itself. BBQs, tables and plenty of parking.

Lovely area, quite easy to get to (take the first left in, not the 2nd or you'll hit the tyre spikes). Public toilet and bins could be better marked. We didn't use the BBQ's but it looked clean/tidy. The hike around the marshlands was beautiful, quite easy and flat. Could almost take a stroller if it had big wheels. So many kangaroos, birds, frogs and a brown snake 🐍 (off the path though). Was a nice day out!

It's a great park, but needs more picnic areas and more park seating on the long walk sections.
