Always a great place to have a beers with some mates. Nice little beer garden area out the back and staff are always super friendly. Has live music regularly as well. Food options are great and not over priced, the fried chicken burger is always a winner.

Good basic food (will not disappoint) Casual music sets a good atmosphere. The best Bloody Mary I've had in a long long time! Give it a crack!

Terrible experience, all vodka was watered down, absolute scammers. We ordered a Royale with cheese, chips were good but the quantity was not. However, the burger… I am writing this on the toilet, that double Big Mac trash burger has cooked my insides.

Consistently excellent. Affordable burgers have no business being this good. Dive bars have no business being this friendly. Trivia hosts have no business subjecting people to their idiosyncratic music tastes. Apart from the 3rd trivia round, it's an amazing bar. Also sometimes a person brings their pet rabbit to chill. 5 stars.

Sort the smoke out. Lovely open fire out the back, however, the smoke fills the bar. Three of us sat inside for a couple of beers. Got home and smelt like we had been camping. It was the same with cigarette smoke during summer. I’ve been drinking there off and on for 15 years. Something has changed. Too many other options so won’t be back for a while.

Fabulous people. Have been coming here since it opened back when Thornbury was just firing up. They have been key drivers in making Thornbury the vibrant community it is now. I always leave feeling better about the world.

Good Burger (although structurally not entirely sound) nice venue but relatively quiet (ergo atmosphere was a bit flat due to us arriving early in the evening). I'll have to practice my Burger eating skills, but will definitely return with our friends.

I'd go back. Any time. Beer garden has an intriguing atmosphere. The staff are easy going but efficient. You'd try anything once, and this place is one I'd give a repeat.

I love dive bars and this is great. Decent, cheap beer, great live music (open mic night can be a treat) and a menu full of standard dude food. Lost a star because the burgers could be better, but the cheap wing night put it back to 5.

Ordered the buffalo cauliflower - it was so salty, I couldn't eat more than three pieces. The sauce that went with it had some bad sour business going on. I would not order food from here again.

The bartenders were super friendly, tried an awesome Gold Rum and Coke on their recommendation! My GOD the Buffalo wings are good!

always a good vibe here! I visit semi often and the staff are always lovely. the vibe of the place is cosy and warm and it's so easy to lose a couple hours here, getting lost in conversation and atmosphere. the food is phenomenal, I recommend the po-boy to everybody who will listen. absolutely delicious and isn't messy as hell. all in all, a great place for everyone from all demographics!

It's a cozy little bar, with some sweet music, tasty food, and an eclectic assortment of furniture. Great for a date or a small group of mates.

I have very fond memories of this place. The Thornbury Local holds a very special place in my heart. The cocktails taste amazing, service is fast and they have generous servings of hot chips I don’t think we were able to eat half of it. Tram station is just outside so it is very accessible. Croxton train station is also walking distance.

We had fun here for our first visit. Good drinks and good service. OK food and relaxed environment. Will be back.

Blown away by reviews bagging the staff. I thought people might bag the toilets, or bag that it's a dive bar, or bag the size of it when there's a gig - but you can't bag the staff here, they're all amazing. I love the local, it's everything I wan in a dive bar. Beer is slightly cheaper than nearby. Great summer pub sitting out the back; great winter pub either sitting inside, or standing by the fire outside. Plenty of really good vegan options on the menu too (as well as carnivore food.)

Cracking pub. Love atmosphere, good local ales, friendly Bar staff and nice, reasonably priced food. Toilets aren't amazing but that doesn't matter because the rest of the place is great.

First pub I went to since landing in Melbourne and continuously going back. Love everything from the Decor, to the smoking area to the upstairs balcony. Food is great, loads of weekly deals and fab open mic on Wednesday’s. Has to be said that the staff make the place; they’re extremely friendly and welcoming. Great suggestions like the Tempranillo from Cal or Pot & shot recovery tactics from Liam. Place has great atmosphere and good vibes. See u all again soon!

A great combination. Convivial atmosphere, helpful and friendly staff, plus tasty and economical bar snacks (we chose bean fritters, mixed tacos and buffalo chicken wings). With live music added, a good way to spend a wintery evening

I paid $19 for a glass of lime juice with a wilted bit of mint drooping down the side. Apparently it was a mojito. Shame, I've been here ages back and the vibe was nice. Honestly wouldn't care if they didn't serve cocktails at all, would be fine just getting a beer, but if you do them at a premium price, make them nice?

Haven’t caught up with my mates for a long time. Were more that happy to cater for our needs! Suz was great in helping us decide our drinks for the night! The epitome of professionalism and class! Only rated 5 stars cause I couldn’t go higher!
