This is a small boutique art gallery located in Kew, Victoria. It has art exhibitions, though we went there for a Sip & Paint Class. Classes are held upstairs, with everything for the class provided, such as the canvas, acrylic paint, brushes, aprons and an art teacher who walked trough each step of the painting. The class is structured such that everyone paints the same painting at the same time. You can go onto the website and choose the painting you want, with variations such as Paint Your Partner and Paint Your Pet, which would be different paintings for each person then. On the day we were there, we did Poppies by Van Gogh. The session lasted 2 hours, though it could have been a little longer as one or 2 of us were a little rushed in some sections of the painting. But the art teacher, Lily, was very good and guided us well enough to catch up. The class size is usually around 15-20 though we only had 6 on the day we went. It is very relaxing, made more so by the fact that we could bring our own food and drinks. Finger food is best as our hands did get some paint on them. Glasses were provided by Ladder Art and they even cleaned up after us! Our work benches had plenty of space to put the canvas, food, wine, painting material, etc. There is ample parking outside on the street and across the road. Only thing is, there is a 2-hour limit in weekdays there, which happened to be the duration of the class. Overall a most enjoyable and relaxing time, and one to enjoy with friends or strangers.

Lily was great!! We did our work team building here and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It was relaxing and Lily was a great help. Having Justin Bieber play in the back was great as well. THANKS LILY.

My friend and I had such a fun time here painting our pets’ portraits! The vibe was cool and casual, we could bring our own drinks and snacks so that was nice. The teacher (Tristan) was friendly and insightful too. Just an input as I’m a beginner in painting, I wish there was a short lesson on how to do strokes and highlights before we start painting, so at least we have an idea of what to do and not to do. Maybe it’s good if the teacher paints along with us on his own portrait as an example. But overall was such a great experience! 🥰

We spent a lovely afternoon at Ladder Art Space. Lilly was a wonderful teacher and gave out clear step by step instructions on the painting we did. It was so much fun painting away with a glass of wine in our hands. Highly recommended 👌

My daughter and I spent a fabulous evening at a Paint Your Pet session and what a great time we had. Tristan was so supportive and his cheeky sense of humour made learning the finer skills of brushwork and colour/light and shade that much more fun. To say three hours passed quickly is an understatement; it was time to finish up before we knew it. Everyone in the class left with their own masterpiece and a spring in their step with new found confidence in their ability to create something amazing. Thanks Ladder Art Space for making this opportunity available.

I'm visiting Melbourne from Thailand and a friend recommended the Paint & Sip class to me and my boyfriend. We very much enjoyed the class and the facilities. The teacher, Emma, was very nice, super helpful, and fun!

Had a really fun experience learning to paint from Lily this afternoon. Lily’s understandable instructions, patient guidance, and overall lovely character made the lesson highly engaging and entertaining. Both my partner and I, who are both first-time painters, wound up painting a piece we’ve come to display in our room to remind of us the great time we had. I would easily recommend this lesson to anyone and everyone. Thanks so much, Lily! We’ll definitely be back for another lesson from you.

Emma was a great teacher. She was patient and went through the steps clearly. It was a chill class which was very good for beginners and the paintings turned out so well. I had so much fun painting! Although I wish the space could be bigger as it was a small room so felt a bit squished even with 6 people.

Fantastic experience from first reach out to enquire through to the class itself. I called looking for a class for our company team day. The initial person I spoke to was helpful and the pricing here is cheaper than other places doing paint and sip, the class time was also longer. The team here helped me make last minute changes, provided a table for drinks and food, and made sure I had all the information needed to have a great day! Jack, who taught our class was a great teacher, lots of fun and clearly a talented painter himself. He led us through each step then gave everyone individual guidance when needed. I was pleasantly surprised with the painting I was able to produce with his help. I would recommend this class to anyone wanting a fun group activity.

We had a wonderful eve with Monty as our teacher!! She was really patient and gave great tips as well as being great energy and uplifting the eve with her chat! The night was super fun and we all managed to create beautiful works of art in the end despite not having being very confident in my artistic talents before. It's in small groups so intimate atmosphere which makes it better to get some more guidance as well!!

Had the most amazing night at the Paint and Sip class, and the lovely, professional, patient and very talented artist, Kathryn teaching us to paint Van Gogh’s Irises. Will definitely be back! So much fun!

We had a lovely time there. Our instructor, Jack, was really sweet. We were a bit late but he made sure that we catch up. He paid attention to everyone's needs and made suggestions. It was a nice little anniversary date for us and we truly enjoyed it! Thank you ❤️

My hubby and I were gifted a pet portrait session and at first we hesitated because we were worried we would not be able to create something we were proud of. To our surprise the portraits came out better than we thought, good enough to hang actually. The outline sketch and techniques learnt over the 3 hours really made the result achievable even for us beginners. Highly recommend for a creative night out.

We painted our pet here at Ladder Art Space with Tristan as our instructor and he was superb at what he does! From the sketch on the canvas to guiding us in class. He was chill, cracked some funny jokes and made our class feel relaxed and calm (the way it should be!) I've been to another paint & sip before and they just rush you out of the class when the time was up! Pretty sure we went overtime and Tristan did not rush us out. We had a great experience here!

Emma was a fantastic teacher who was very friendly and patient. She taught us the basic techniques, so even if you are a beginner, this class is perfect for you, as you can learn some painting skills. I found the class a fun way to relax and unwind after a long day at work. The one problem was that it was too short (2 hrs)! I would have liked a bit more time to spend on my artwork.

Myself and a group of friends decided on a Paint and Sip evening at the Ladder Art Space where with our partners, we had a go painting 1/2 of a single picture. What started to be a friendly competition between my wife and me to see who had the better painting, quickly turned into a forced collaboration when our group decided that it will be mandatory to display the finished peice in each of our respective homes. The 2 hour session is first-time-painter friendly and is very well structured/paced. It will take you through acrylic painting basics with a good mix of: layering, blending, flicking/stippling, experimenting with different tones. The session had about 14 painters and was in a very relaxed setting with all equipment provided. Our host and instructor for the evening was Lily. She was amazing at keeping everyone on-task and on-time while still allowing us time and helping us get creative with our peices. All of us had an absolute blast. While it might not be a service or part of the package, Lily did offer therapy and emotional support during my silent breakdown while blending...Thanks for rescuing me and my painting multiple times that evening.
