I wonder now if Doctors actually remember the reason they chose this profession. I have been visiting Dr Melissa Soares ever since I arrived here in the country,which was 14 years ago.She used to practice at another clinic before and was always open to walk -ins no matter what because sickness doesn't always gives you 2 weeks notice to book an appt. I have always admired her for the professional she is and compassion she has when treating her patients. However, It has been extremely difficult to get appts. with her at this clinic and reception staff give out different advice when it comes to taking walk ins. I now have a 5 day old baby and needed to be examined yesterday urgently as advised by the council maternal & childcare nurse . The receptionist initially asked us to walk in and the next minute called and said not possible.Given it was urgent we chose to see any other GP in the centre who could accommodate us. Dr Majid agreed to see us however, I hope I had not seen him anyway. Zero compassion, questioning why we wanted to get the child checked now, quickly examined him and said he is fine. Lost more than 10% weight at discharge and another 15gms yesterday when checked by the council didn't seem like a concern to him even when I showed him a piece of paper that our council staff provided quickly so the child could be seen.Being first time parents, we were just following advise that was provided to us but he made us feel like idiots. Asked if we want our child to examined properly book a long consultation. My husband and I have great respect and the reason we go to this clinic is for Dr Melissa Soares but the experience we had yesterday was extremely disappointing and inconsistent responses from receptionists are frustating. I am hoping the clinic can address these in the near future and provide their patients best care. It's not a free service and being in the healthcare industry myself, I understand the pressures however, things can still improve here in my opinion. Thanks

Hard to explain why I would give a doctor's clinic a 5 star rating when I had to wait two days for an appointment. However, when I arrived for my first ever visit, admin was efficient and clear about what I needed to do... the soft music in the waiting room is a very nice touch. The doctor is, without a doubt, the best doctor I've ever consulted... exactly what I always thought a doctor should be like.

Dr Philip Westmore is our GP and we've been visiting him whichever clinics he's been working at. Luckily at this clinic, we had a great experience as well. Well looked after and friendly environment.

I followed my GP Doctor (Dr.Hasanthi) when I found she has moved to North Blackburn Square Clinic. Dr.Hasanthi is a fantastic doctor, caring, highly professional and providing information and details for treatment. Great doctor. Highly Recommend

We are always happy coming to see Dr Melissa at this clinic. She is always so warm and caring. They were right on time too didn’t have to wait for appointment.

Doctors all are amazing in this clinic however the receptionist is not very helpful and if you are booking an appointment do it online otherwise you will be on hold for hours.

I don’t live in the area or close by at all. But I will make the trip to come here to see my doctor. I’m very impressed with the beautiful clean surgery and the efficiency and professionalism of all the staff from the receptionists to the doctors. They all work very hard and I always feel cared for and valued by all the staff when I need to see my doctor, Dr Melissa Soares. I have on a few occasions seen other doctors when Dr Melissa has been unavailable and I have had the same wonderful treatment from them too. Definitely worth it if you need excellent medical care.

I needed to come here after falling and injuring myself requiring treatment. The reception team were helpful and arranged for me to see nurse promptly. The doctor and nurse (sorry did not note names) were very professional and I was treated well throughout, even though I must have caused unexpected work. Many thanks. 😀

Dr. Soares is a very good and proficient doctor and I recommend her as she has been my doctor for the past decade. However the reception needs a overhaul, especially in terms of scheduling her appointments as every time I go to the clinic, I need to wait for at least 30 minutes to 2 hours even after making an appointment. Hopefully the administrators of the clinic take this into consideration and improve.

Dr. Hasanthi has been my GP for over a year now. She is friendly, approachable, and treats with compassion. When she moved to North Blackburn Square Clinic, I gladly followed her because I feel confident and comfortable under her care. Dr. Hasanthi answers all my questions with great patience and takes the time to carefully listen to me, ensuring I am well taken care of. Her knowledge is evident and reassuring, with remarkable attention to detail. I consider myself fortunate to have found such a wonderful doctor and recommend her to everyone. The nurse and the rest of the staff at the clinic are also friendly and welcoming, and everything is well-organized. The whole experience was positive.

Met with Dr Hassan for the first time. She was lovely, very good bed side manner showing genuine empathy and concern as she addressed my issue promptly and professionally. I will be asking for her again next time I attend.

I went to Dr. Hasanthi Tennakoon and am very satisfied. I have also been to Dr. Melissa, very talented lady. The atmosphere is nice and the admins are very cooperative too. The location of this clinic is good. In front of Blackburn square mall junction.

We came here based on the reviews with Doctor Hasanthi .. Our Newborn has been diagnosed with Jaundice for 3 weeks and we have been following up with Nurse and Hospital and they said should go away. But for the sake of doubt we came in to check and all the answers we got was a maybe or not sure .. Not even a weight check to see if the baby is healthy or not. We got a referral to emergency. I understand the criticality of a newborn health but at the same time I wasn't expecting maybes and not sure in answers and not doing basic checks. Hope this approach changes in the future.

Unsure of the role of a GP. I have never experienced so many referrals in one visit. I was given 2 referrals for 2 minor issues. One was a skin check for a freckle. I understand it is advisable to refer a skin specialist if there is uncertainty and a complex issue. My referral was to another GP in the same clinic. Yes the other doctor has done further studies but I was advised it could still be a potential referral. Also hard book the appointment on hold over 20 minutes in the afternoon. I had to wait over a week. I ended up booking an appointment elsewhere and got in within 2 days and they advised me they can do the biopsy and consultation in one go. The doctor was lovely but the setup in the clinic is lengthy and too many people involved costing more to get answers.

I have been attending this Clinic since I was a young child and I'm now in my late 20s and it's the best clinic out there. Dr. Soares is hands down one of the best doctors in Melbourne, always so attentive and incredibly knowledgeable. I have recommended this to my friends and family who have attended and feel the same!

Dr Melissa is a very lovely doctor and I am very satisfied getting my kids checked by her. The only drawback about this clinic is their service at the reception is very poor. Some of the girls come across as very rude especially when asked on the wait times.

The care here is so good that I can overlook the time it takes to book and be seen. Dr Melissa is fantastic - she’s very thorough and supportive. It’s also really great that a lot of procedures can be done in house.

My Doctor is pretty good, but the reception, very unprofessional, never calls back after a call drop out, they ask if you can be put on hold and won’t even wait for you to responds. Not to mention the ATTITUDE. They need proper training or they need to be replaced, not once have I had a pleasant experience with anyone from reception. High school kids could do a better job than the current reception if they had some basic customer service training.

Extremely happy with my Dr at this clinic. However, like many places, it takes up to 2 weeks to get an appointment. The real negative to this clinic is the amount of time they keep you waiting on the phone. First, even if it a quick question you want answered, you have to sit through the same recorded message every time before you can do anything else. Then you have to listen to recorded music for quite some time before your call is answered by a receptionist. This morning it was 15 minutes. I understand that at times it can get extremely busy, but every time I have had to ring of late, the same thing has happened. Not exactly sure why this is occurring on a regular basis.

I am always happy with this clinic even though I have to wait every time when I am in call and also when I am with the doctors. I have had experiences with other clinics but the waiting time for the call is over 30 minutes without good service. Everytime when I visit this clinic, the receptionists are all busy in call or with patients. I totally understand how stressful the receptionists and doctors when they provide their excellent service to their patients. If I have something urgent, and I can't get the booking here, I would book my back up GP which is even not as good as my doctors in North Blackburn Square Clinic. I think they do really good job.

North Blackburn Square Clinic is hands down, THE best clinic I have been to. All receptionists there are full on with incoming and urgent requests, which includes, handling booking appointments and answering the crazy amount of phone calls every day, yet they seem very passionate when they communicate with the patients. Doctors there are fantastic, and treat their patients so lovingly, everytime I visit the clinic, I'm always excited to see the positive looks on all the employer's faces. The waiting time for both on call and to book an appointment is reasonable as I understand it gets really busy there, however, in contrast to other clinics, which roughly takes 45 minutes of waiting, this clinic takes half or even less for a response which is great service, considering the fact that everyone seems stressed at times. I am really glad I was able to find this clinic, and I am looking forward to visiting again soon!!

I really like this clinic. All the receptionist have been amazing, they are always ready to help even when they get busy. The nurse who gave me my flu shot was so efficient I hadn’t even realised she’d put the needle till she told me she was done! Would definitely recommend coming here, great doctors, nurses and staff!

I was invited to the consulting room less the 10 minutes after the scheduled appointment time. I was treated with respect and courtesy. The procedure undertaken was fully explained prior to commencement. The follow up steps were also fully explained. I left the clinic content I had made a excellent choice in the physician I chose.

My first attendance at this clinic today. Patients in the waiting room, but I was seen almost on time. The doctor was professional and efficient. Clerical staff polite and very prompt. Happy to go back again. Certainly recommend this clinic.

I am very disappointed with this clinic. Not with the doctors but with the clinic as such. Specifically, my frustration relates to instances when my family members need to see a doctor fast because of immediate health issues. We call the clinic to only be told that the nearest appointment is in 2 weeks time. This is ridiculous. I always wondered how people know what kind of problem they would have in 2 weeks. With such a system, only issues that do not require an immediate action and that can wait might be addressed. Often this is not the case. For example, today my husband got sick with a severe sore throat and he could not even book a phone consultation. His problem was definitely not 000 but rather a problem that required GP's intervention. If you can't treat sick patients, why do you exist at all.

Always reliable, thorough and caring services from all staff at NB Medical clinic. I have been going for years and now I also take my young children. Highly recommend.
