This place was recommended as a go to place for something to eat. We decided to give it a try. We telephoned to see if we needed to book, told for the restaurant yes for the bar area and outside no. It was a lovely evening so decided just to go and eat outside. We arrived and found a table, enquired at the bar how to order was told sit at the table there are staff wondering around and will see to your order. We sat and sat and a member of staff wondered by us several times looked at us and just walked on by. A little time later an older gentleman (possibly the owner) said are you waiting to order We replied yes he said the member of staff will be shortly with you. Whilst we were waiting at least 3 other table became occupied and was served before us. In total it took 25 mins before The member of staff came to us we asked about vegan options, he pointed out the garlic bread or the soup of the day. We explained that we wanted a main meal. (He didn't seem to have a clue) asked to speak to a manager he went inside and came out with another menu. On a positive note the food came out quickly but unfortunately we waited for some cutlery to arrive but no nothing arrived. I had to go to the bar and ask. Very disappointed ๐Ÿ˜ž

We stopped here on our way to Northern Ireland and it was a very lovely place. The oysters especially were very good and fresh, the service was very good and they were really nice. And nothing can beat the view of the ocean while eating seafood. The view was spectacular.

The food was good and the view is stunning. Also, friendliest staff and service there. You can't go wrong. We come here every time when were in town!!

Good menu selection. We got chips for the table, a BLT and oysters. The food was excellent, really tasty and fresh. The staff were lovely and friendly also. Gorgeous views and nice outdoor eating area.

The view is spectacular. The food is OK. We had the mussels with bread but it came with just one very small slice of bread and the sauce was extremely salty. Some of the mussels looked a bit grey and undercooked. The toilets are clean but the smell is so awful that it made me gag!

This is a must go to when you stay or visit Rossnowlagh it has slightly changed since last time we went. No more lobster tank and less fish on menu but still very nice food. And the view is fantastic over the bay.

We had a drink in this amazing bar and restaurant overlooking the sea recently. The place was buzzing. Really friendly and helpful staff. We will be back for food next time!

My plate was "dropped" beside me while the rest of the customers were served their plates nicely in front of them. When I addressed the issue with the manager, her justification was that the Irish staff working for her were "babies and didnt know nothing", "needed to be trained" but the Ukrainian staff she once employed had better work ethics. Not only did I get insulted, so did her staff and the Irish customers that were paying their hard earned money to eat in this establishment. This is not a place I would recommend anyone visit.

Food is excellent, really well presented, and you can tell the chef(s) love their job. Service was excellent, pleasant staff who come across very friendly and they also look like they enjoy their work. Well done Smugglers, keep it up ๐Ÿ‘

Can I put 6 stars? Haha. The food is amazing and the service superb. With an amazing view and a very cozy Irish environment, youโ€™ll enjoy one of the best foods youโ€™ll have in Ireland. Mussels are a must, and the portion is very generous.

The clear selling point is the magnificent views , but the service and food was lacking. Only one vegan option and some of the so called choices in the vegetarian section of the menu were not vegetarian . I had the risotto and it looked and tasted like it had been cooked from frozen- my stomach was not feeling great after! delicious pudding afterwards which slightly made up for it, but I wouldnโ€™t be returning or recommending.

Food is ok, pork belly is not that tasty, although it looks very cool. We waited at least half an hour for somebody to take our order on Friday night, but the food was made and served quick. Looks like the hostess woman is doing everything, which is quite sad, she's flying around everywhere. Get her help!

Have to say after eating here many times the food and service was shocking was severed food which partly came out quick only to have one dinner returned just as quick as it was inedible and had a hair in it and I actually was enjoying my fish although bland and unseaoned till I found another hair sitting under it yuk as someone who worked as a chef all I need to say is hairnets are needed. Only 3 off our drinks were delivered and had to ask several staff for the rest really disappointing experience as I have had many good ones before but after mentioning it to staff nothing more was said overall wouldn't return. Also, don't believe ketchup and pesto plate drizzle don't belong together even if only as a decoration.

We stopped here for lunch today and what a fantastic place, itโ€™s a lovely charming pub / restaurant, itโ€™s was spotlessly clean and the service was excellent , the food was very good quality and promptly served and .the view from the restaurant over the bay towards the mountains is stunning

Trading on past glories. Very underwhelming. I ordered the special on Sunday a seafood medley with champ n mash. It was small , the veg was cold a couple of small prawns , 6-8 mussels not in shell. Two small pieces of white fish all for 28 euro. No I won't be back ,I don't mind the price if it's going to Wow me but that certainly did not happen.

Omg, an amazing find. Can't fault this place. Dee and the waiting staff were so courteous and efficient during our visit. Food was served in a timely manner and from the monk and prawn starter, wings, perfect Steak and Haddock, we just were in food heaven. Weather was not on our side, but the food and restaurant experience will definitely become a firm place to frequent for us and extended family.

One of the best bars in the north. I have spent the best evenings there, nice people, fine drinks and good live music. A historic house with a view of the sea, with a cultural background and a place of wonderful encounters. It is a vibrant bar and restaurant where all the locals get together and have some craic. I would love to be there every day. Off da hook, right on!

Dined here with my wife Saturday evening. Lovely friendly staff and prompt service. My steak was beautiful and cooked to perfection, and my wife had the Medley which she said was tasty and filling. She had John Dory, Salmon, king prawns and Mussels on champ with fresh veg. Looking forward to going again really soon. Couldn't recommend high enough.

Great location. Sat outside as we had our dog. Outdoor menu has less options, however the food was still very good. Great views even on a dull day

A lovely restaurant with excellent food. This place is lovely it has excellent views across Donegal bay with the sweep of Rossnowlagh beach in the foreground. The food is very nice and the staff pleasant and helpful. it does get very busy in the summer months so booking is advised.

This place is amazing! We not only stayed the night but we ate dinner and breakfast! This place has unreal views of the beach, delicious food and great hospitality. This was worth the drive over and I highly recommend staying and eating here!

Even though the place was fully booked, the waiter found us a table. Food was really nice and came quickly, we had fish and chips and a kids burger. Service is okay, everything is nice. You can pay by card, there are places outside and they have additional seats for babies. Parking outside can be challenging.

Had the nicest wedding anniversary here. Josh is lovely chap who always had a smile on his face even at breakfast. Emily is a great head waitress, who kept the show running when the restaurant was extra busy. The food was delicious & fast. Great spot with beautiful views, would highly recommend

๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ Just spent two nights in the Gaslight Inn with our dog and had the best time. Anthony and Pauline are so kind and accommodating. The food was fabulous and the room was spotless. Great views of Rossnowlagh beach, will definitely come back and will be recommending to family and friends
