This guest house is not what is advertised in photos, on booking.com or trip advisor. There is a smell of damp and dirt throughout. You have to share poorly laid out communal bathrooms with approximately 4 other double rooms. There was one plug in the room, there was a clear stain in the sheets, and crusty brown towels sitting on display for “use”. Furthermore you would have thought your the neighbouring room was in the room with you the walls were that thin. There wasn’t even bulbs in the side dresser lamps. When you think of getting away you want somewhere that is clean, comfortable and private, this is none of the above. Poor form for a guest house.

Nice place, really cool to drive through the narrow corridor to the parking. Rooms were a bit small though

An absolute discrace. A group of friends who booked into stay for a friends party where turned away at the door at check in and no explanation given. The lady was so rude when we tried check in and we are so disappointed that this is the direction hospitality and tourism is going in our area. We will never be back or will ever recommend this place.

The hosts went out of their way to make my stay as comfortable as possible. Clean facilities and a great location. Would definitely recommend to anyone. The rooms are a bit small, but otherwise perfect.

Located right in the middle of Donegal town, it's only a few minutes walk to any restaurant or pub. The rooms are simple and clean. The owners are extremely helpful and very friendly. DO NOT PARK ON THEIR YARD. Driving in and out of the narrow passage to it's own extreme sport. There's very cheap paid parking at a lot next door for €0.30 per hour, €3 per day.

I cannot say anything positive about this hotel no matter how hard I try. From start to finish we couldn’t wait to just leave. The owners were absolutely rude and unhelpful, literally the only hateful people we met in all of Ireland. She couldn’t be bothered to answer any questions and he acted like I was stupid and didn’t know how to flush a toilet. The facility itself is ran down, stained and torn bedding, towels were ragged and ripped, curtains were discolored and torn and our toilet wouldn’t flush. No shampoo, body wash or even a bar of soap, only cheap liquid hand soap in the shower. Not even a hair dryer. At the bottom of one of the stairwells you can see a massive pile of trash and discarded broken furniture. The pictures are a gross misrepresentation of what this place is and clearly the family hate their jobs and take zero pride in what they do.

Pleasant stay, view from the room was terrible but that's because (I reckoned it was booked on 'Booking.com')! Btw breakfast was excellent and hot, not always the way in certain hotels, but very good hospitality from Lorainne, i think the manager was 👍

Nice little guest house, excellent location with everything nearby in walking-distance. Friendly hosts and choice of breakfast. Hint: Book an en-suite room If possible. In hot days you'll love the extra shower before dinner.

Lorraine made us feel very welcome and couldn't do enough for us. Rooms spotless and beds really comfy. Excellent service, nothing was too much trouble. Would definately go back again.

Greta stay at Atlantic Guest House. Lorraine showed me to my room which was a little small but had everything that I needed and was super clean. As a solo traveler I felt safe in the guest house and Lorraine was kind enough to do some laundry for me which was really helpful! Lovely breakfast in the morning which set me up nicely for a day of cycling

Delightful old town house Bed and Breakfast, warm rooms and very good breakfast. Restrooms down the hall or en suite, Mr. And Mrs Brown and their children are very kind hosts. Great little bargain wlking distance to anything in Donegal. We especially like the reading room and the peat fire. Very cosy on cold wet Irish days.

Run by the sweetest couple Greg and Lorraine. Very kind and accomodating people. Wonderful place to stay! The interior is oldfashioned, just how you want it for an authentic feel. The rooms are clean and tidy and bathrooms are kept very clean and neat. Overall for a hotel in its class it is a great choice! No regrets, expectations met and more! in fact I'd give 6 stars for kindness for sure!

I needed a place to stay and booked a room super late around an hour before closing, the owner greeted me and was very polite and happy to help out. She showed me to my room which was very cozy and had everything I needed. She also recommended nearby pubs and places to see. There was a shower and sink in the room so I could clean up. Also as an American traveler I didn’t have a charger with the correct port and she happily provided one for me to use for the night. Even with the many rooms I couldn’t hear other patrons and had a great nights rest. On top of that, I was made a fresh home cooked breakfast with amazing service. Had a whole pot of coffee to myself as well as fresh orange juice, oatmeal, eggs, breads and jams. Overall fantastic time, very accommodating and friendly staff, these reviews don’t do the place justice.

When we arrived we were immediately asked were we paying cash or card I said cash before I was showed the room I was asked three times for the money, to which I said I'm not going to run away when she showed us the room she asked again for the money I said give me time to get in, I take it this was the owner, a blond woman, were told when booking we would have our own private bathroom shower although not in the room this was in the hallway other people were using it also, the wardrobe was like a cupboard which we didn't use it smelled of damp and fust.we just kept our clothes in case, stayed two nights but never again had to use the town carpark thirty cents an hour after six it was free to nine in the morning, the room was cold after a days rain, no heat on up the stairs or in the room, u checked radiator to see if it was on but there was no controls on it to turn on or off breakfast was just OK potato bread and waffle seemed to have been put in an out of chip pan and full of grease, which we didn't eat, the piece of tomato we got was wasn't grilled r put on the pan, we asked the lady with no smile that served it could we have tomato grilled we were told I don't think so that's the way she does it but I, I'll ask her, never heard what the answer was next morning we just took bacon egg and toast couldn't wait to get away.its the only place I ever stayed in I was asked to pay first, I can see why. Never stay there again. Sorry.

A good guest house. Good breakfasts and basic but clean rooms with shared toilets and showers. Staff were brilliant, helpful and friendly.

The reviews stating that this guest house is not what is advertised in photos on booking.com or trip advisor is absolutely correct. The photos and description of “2 star hotel” on Google make it sound like you have access to your own bathroom. There are shared bathrooms with strangers on the same floor, which is about 4 double rooms. The walls are ridiculously thin to the point where I could here snoring from a different room, people eating breakfast a floor below in the morning, as well as sex noises from another neighboring room (the same people we shared a bathroom with). The rooms are really small, our 2 suitcases laying on the floor took up 90% of the walking area in the room. There was hair on the bed and pillow sheets. We could not wait to get out of this place, and will not be coming back. Shown below are pictures of what the bathroom looked like in the morning. As a side note, there is also an “absolutely no eating food in the guest rooms” policy.

Lovely place, lovely service, excellent location literally seconds away from the Monument. Upon arrival I was shown to a room which was a bit too small for my liking, I asked if I could be moved and was immediately upgraded to a bigger room with no extra charges. Rooms are cozy and furnished with everything you might need including a double bed, wardrobe, desk, TV, heater, kettle and sink. Bathroom is shared but big enough with a huge shower always in great condition. Staff is friendly and helpful, breakfast included with several different options and swift service. Front lady is always there if you need recommendations for visiting the town or even just for a chat. All in all a lovely experience for a reasonable price.

👍👍 The owner is a nice guy. The location is perfect. It's just 200 meters from the diamond, but at the same time, it's quiet. The only downside is the size of the rooms: they are pretty cramped but still comfy.
