Really a horrible facility. If you have any intention of improving your mental health, I suggest you look elsewhere. Not only are the Doctors dismissive, they’ve questioned the legitimacy of my requests many times. The front office is inept, I have missed a week of medication TWICE because I’ve had to hound the front office incessantly to make an appointment. I get sent to the voicemail dozens of times before I finally get a response. Honestly not one to leave a bad review, but this is people’s mental health. They are coming to you for care on an already stigmatized and difficult process. Everyone who works here seems to neglect that fact, and wants you to jump through extra hoops just to receive needed care. Looking for a new doctors ASAP. Tired of this.

This place is pathetic and that’s at best, the front office is awful and unprofessional and very bad in scheduling. My son has had to suffer through mess for years, averaging 1 hour wait before being seen. We have experienced 1.5 hours in waiting and then we were lied to on numerous occasions by the girls in the front office; I don’t know how they keep their jobs with their performance. Most people wouldn’t have a job with how they treat paying customers. I am really looking for another psychiatrist that has an office that respects their clients. Please consider another office before you come here.

HORRIBLE FRONT DESK STAFF. I have been going here for 2 years now and was unceremoniously dumped. In addition to that, front desk staff hung up on me. When my doctor stopped seeing patients they switched me to another practitioner who began overseeing my medication. When I called to make my monthly appointment they informed me I could no longer see the doctor. I was NEVER informed of this, the practitioner never once mentioned it to me, and the front desk staff was atrociously rude. When dealing with people's mental health you would think they would have more grace, but they don't. Not to mention if you can even get them to answer the phone, answer their voicemails, or actually be of help in general. I've long struggled with my mental health, and to have such a bad experience really messes with me. Do not come here if you can avoid it, they are not to be trusted with your health.

Stepanoff is pretty good and so is the Psychiatrist Dr Revilla . But the front office is absolutely terrible. They actually hung up on me for calling and asking them if my insurance problem is fixed and it’s been a whole month. I’ve Been calling frequently because I’ve been going without my depression and anxiety medications and it’s starting to mess me up. Update. Been out of my medications for two weeks after leaving countless messages to get an appointment so I can get refills and They either don’t answer the phone, hang up on me , or the system is down. Very frustrating.

Doctors and Therapists are knowledgeable, caring and flexible but the office staff is terrible! Because my medical team is so amazing, I try to schedule my appointments directly with my therapists or ask about my prescriptions via email. I have been at ABMH for almost 2 years and have experienced major improvements in my condition. However, I avoid the office staff at all cost, they are unorganized, unprofessional, and completely indifferent to the patient's well being.

Worst office and receptionists. They don't answer calls and have no understanding of how to communicate important information to patients. Do not expect to get through to them through the phone and expect attitude and sarcasm from the poorly trained receptionists. No professionalism here whatsoever. Save your time and money and go elsewhere to a facility who truly cares about their patients.

As others have said, this company sends fraudulent bills to collection agency’s. I have not been here in over 5 years and I still have the same bill go to collections every year or so. Absolutely no way to pay it with how the front office handles people. They made me send a check. And here we go again. Last time I went to BBB, this time I’m going to the state Attorney General.

DO NOT waste your time with this place, they are the farthest thing from medical professionals. Dr. Afshar I’d a joke and the staff (specifically the receptionist, Lousia) are worthless. All they care about is scheduling patients as frequently as possible for the money and they can’t even accomplish their only duty, getting patients the medications that they need. They have failed to authorize medication refills numerous times. This facility should be permanently shut down.

I was told I wouldn’t need to pay anything out of pocket with my insurance. I took some tests for ADHD and I left very dissatisfied with their outdated tests. Seriously, my psychology book from the 1960’s is more advanced than their tests. Now I’m being billed for $150 more than three months later??? Give me a break. This was a waste of time.

Got misdiagnosed here with "depression" 6 years ago after the nurse practitioner talked to me for less than 5 minutes about my childhood abuse. He downright interrupted me when I started talking about the beatings I got and said "You have depression, or else you wouldn't be thinking about these things." I was pushed Welbutrin, when I said it wasn't working the nurse practioner doubled the dosage which left me vomiting and dizzy for 3 months straight. Still wasn't helping the depression after 3 months and the nurse practitioner just said "keep taking it" and so I stopped going here. My experience was so bad I didn't seek treatment for 6 years. Now I am seeking mental health elsewhere where my childhood trauma is actually acknowledged and I have actual goals set out for what I can get out of therapy and stuff and I am finally being treated for PTSD. Advances in Mental Health was just pushing pills for profit. I actually feel better after a mere couple weeks with my new place than I had with Advances in Mental Health where I sought treatment for several months. Advances in Mental Health also assigned me a therapist, I believe her name was Julie, who was absolutely terrible. There were no goals set out on how I can get better. She had a clipboard with her and spent more time writing in her clipboard like I was a subject to be studied instead of a person when she was not a medical doctor. She showed me a list of things to do to distract myself like "take a walk" and "bake a cake." How many cakes do I need to bake exactly to stop having memories of my childhood abuse circle repeatedly in my head?

Had a scheduled appointment today, 2/15/2023 at 10:45am. My wife called to confirm and left a voicemail. No response. I called to confirm and left a voicemail. No response within 2days. Unacceptable! Now, base off of the other reviews, this place just lost our business and a chance to see a valuable client.

I am new to this office but my experience has been very good, despite some difficulty with not getting through on the phone to the front desk. But to condemn the entire office for this is rather myopic. They are admittedly short staffed.... perhaps that is why they are so affordable, so it seems prudent to be willing to exercise patience. Nobody was at all rude to me but perhaps that is because I was patient and polite. After reading the reviews, I have to say that a bill that is repeatedly sent to collections is not fraudulent and certainly not the fault of the billing department. Nor can one expect free services. The reality is that they simply cannot do that. I prefer to be grateful for what is offered. In the end, to receive one must give, that's just how it is.

This place has literally saved my life. I still have ways to go however I'm in a much better place and I have tools to keep going forward. *** I finally have the strength to comeback and say that if you're in serious need of help DON'T come here! This is a big money grab and they don't really care about you! I left my previous review way too soon.

The absolute worst. Never answers the phone, it’s like trying to get through to a radio station giving away concert tickets. Receptionist are rude, dr will never call when scheduled if at all.
