Would not recommend or return here. I reserved a premium room online, staff discreetly checked us into a standard room and charged the premium rate. I enquired, they informed us that a wedding party had taken priority regardless of our reservation. They stated I would be refunded, but final bill charged us the premium rate and an unexplained additional amount. I emailed several times and the staff denied any issue. A terrible experience, check your bill if you decide to stay.

We visited for a five day golf break. I was instantly very impressed. The reception was very welcoming and I felt the hotel had enormous character and outstanding service. Our first night was highly enjoyable. The hotel had three weddings booked which we were unaware of. I was concerned about the noise with bands and they went to a massive effort to change the room and make every adjustment necessary to ensure I got a peaceful stay. I would suggest check weddings aren’t on if you want a peaceful stay. But this was resolved so effectively and in terms of handling my concerns this is a real credit to the staff. I felt that I did matter and we had a wonderful remaining stay. I would absolutely visit again. Thank you to the staff who helped me to be more comfortable and to all members of the team - what a friendly place. Go visit you won’t regret it.

The staff from top to bottom are excellent, nothing whatsoever is an issue for them. Dawn and especially David deserve a special mention. We had our Wedding here in September and we were fortunate to stay overnight again in November. The rooms are very spacious, but more importantly clean. The grounds are amazing and the food is some of the best we've ever had! We haven't stopped talking to people about this hotel, which we just stumbled across one day when Wedding venue shopping, and we will continue to tell people about the hotel, due to the happy memories shared there!

Great location and great views. Sadly there are a lot of things that need attention. First of all the parking is tiny and there is not enough space to park your vehicle. This leads to cars being parked wherever and creates a chaotic situation for the motorists. The staff although nice on the face of it, were not helpful at all. A simple order of coffee for a group of four was overwhelming for them and they were not able to complete it. We requested the drinks around 1:30, reminded the staff about our order after 2pm, and by the time we left at 3:30 we still did not have our coffees!! That is unacceptable and should not happen under any circumstances. Furthermore it is incredibly unprofessional for the guests to constantly remind the staff of what they have ordered.

Attended a wedding here and the whole place is just lovely. Reception staff could have been a little more friendly but other than that the staff were great. Food was delicious. The building, grounds and the view are beautiful. Can't comment on the rooms as we didn't stay due to commitments the following day however I heard great feedback from people who did. We plan to return for dinner and an overnight stay in the near future.

Lovely traditional hotel and restaurant in a lovely woodland setting. We booked to celebrate a family event and the staff were great in terms of the table we requested as one of our group has mobility issues. There was plenty of choice on the menu although I personally struggled a bit to choose something that really appealled to me. However what I did order was really nice. Good food and service made for a really enjoyable experience .

There are few dining experiences that resonate deeply, that transcend mere culinary satisfaction to weave a tapestry of memories. Lochgreen House Hotel is one such rare gem, steeped in a rich blend of quality, nostalgia, and an enduring charm that seems to echo through the ages. The moment you approach Lochgreen, the elegant, sprawling grounds unfold like a scene from a timeless pastoral tableau. The country house, quaint and welcoming, stands as a symbol of a bygone era, inviting you into a world where every room unfolds a unique story. The magic of Lochgreen lies not just in its visual allure but its remarkable culinary offerings. To say that the produce is of the highest quality would be an understatement. Every dish they serve, competitively priced yet generously portioned, sings of unparalleled freshness and exquisite taste. One can't help but marvel at their business acumen, managing to maintain such impressive standards while ensuring the experience remains accessible. Their fine dining venue is nothing short of extraordinary, a stage where culinary artistry outshines many a Michelin-starred restaurant. The journey begins in the main dining room or drawing room with a selection of delectable canapés, setting the stage for the belt-loosening feast that follows. Lochgreen holds a special place in my heart, carrying a legacy of over 30+ years of familial visits, each echoing with nostalgia and warmth. Admittedly, the recent visits have wavered slightly from the usual gold standard, but one hopes it's a temporary blip rather than a sign of a downtrend. Looking ahead, I earnestly wish that Lochgreen continues to charm patrons for many more decades. The memories it holds for me and countless others are invaluable, woven into the fabric of our lives. Here's to Lochgreen – a testament to the art of fine dining, the joy of togetherness, and the beauty of enduring traditions.

Amazing from start to finish. Room was spotless, huge size with large bathroom. The spa treatment was so relaxing and the staff very professional. The dinner at night could easily have come from a Michelin star restaurant. Will definitely be visiting again

The food is special and the knowledge of serving staff about ingredients was impressive. They even gave me lots of information about the history of the house when I asked. Memorable day out.

As a wedding photographer, I recently had the pleasure of capturing some of the most beautiful moments at Lochgreen House Hotel in Troon. The venue is a stunningly restored 19th-century mansion set amidst 30 acres of lush green gardens and woodlands. From the moment I arrived, I was impressed with the attention to detail and the level of care provided by the staff. The outdoor spaces at Lochgreen House Hotel offer picture-perfect backdrops for wedding photographs. The gardens are beautifully landscaped with a variety of flowers, trees, and water features that make for stunning natural backdrops. The indoor spaces are equally impressive, with elegant and sophisticated decor that adds an air of refinement to every photo. One of the standout features of Lochgreen House Hotel is its ballroom. The room is spacious, with high ceilings and chandeliers that create a sense of grandeur and elegance. It's the perfect setting for capturing group shots and candid moments during the reception. The staff at Lochgreen House Hotel were incredibly accommodating and went above and beyond to ensure that everything ran smoothly throughout the day. The food and drink were exceptional, with a range of delicious options that catered to the needs of all guests. Overall, I was blown away by the beauty and sophistication of Lochgreen House Hotel. As a wedding photographer, it was an absolute pleasure to capture the love and joy of the happy couple amidst such a stunning backdrop. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone looking for a truly memorable and magical wedding experience.

I was in the area for the first time, googled place where to eat, and this hotel came up. What a warming experience that was. Such a kind receptionist, thank you! The food was excellent, the staff was really nice and the sunset to end the day was incredible too. There's a large car park on the grounds. I didn't stay in the hotel therefore there is no review for the rooms.

From arriving to leaving, this hotel was excellent. The staff were very friendly and just couldn't do enough for us. We had a champagne afternoon tea booked. When we arrived there was a wedding happening and the piper asked me if I had a request? I said Highland Laddie, which was a favourite of my maws. He piped us into the hotel and we had an excellent afternoon tea and again the staff were brilliant. I couldn't recommend this hotel high enough, so much so that we are booking to come back next month. 5 STARS all the way ✨️ 🙂

My wife and I went for lunch today and we were not disappointed. We ended up in the wrong restaurant for what we wanted but the very friendly and efficient staff brought the right menu and let us stay where we were. I had the Club sandwich which I think is the best I've ever had. It also came with coleslaw and real chips. A real feast. My wife had the tartlet which she enjoyed. It is definitely a place that I will return to.

Been to Lochgreen many times but moved to the East Coast so after Ladies Day with a couple of friends we decided to stay overnight We all had a great time food was excellent Chefs banter equally so Reception staff first class BUT early evening we decided to have a drink in the new cocktail bar beautiful but in Darkness we repaired to the old faithful but it was so cold it was almost unbearable a couple of times we stood at tge fire in reception to warm up Fires in bar area were for decor only ( Mr Costley needs to review this ) Initially a very surly barman as we asked for tea and biscuits before our cocktail He asked if we were residents ? We were After that he became a tad more friendly We would still return and stay overnight hopefully before ere long

I visited the Spa today and it was first class from start to finish. Rebecca was my spa therapist, not only did she make me feel ultra relaxed, the facial and massage were probably the best I’ve ever had! I mentioned to friends that I spoke to today about how great it was and they didn’t realise the Spa had re-opened! I would highly recommend a visit if you’re thinking about it. Before Christmas we also visited the Bisque restaurant which was flawless. We will certainly be using Lochgreen a lot more, a first class experience right on our doorstep!

From the minute we arrived for my nephews wedding on sat the experience was fantastic. All the staff were amazing from the manager, (who helped us in with our bags, as he was passing when we got out of car ) to the waiters and waitress throughout the day. Also to kitchen staff who provided my son slightly different menu as he is lactulose intolerant (which Ihave to say dessert looked amazing ) Thanks again for wonderful day and excellent facilities Sheena and Gerry McAnally

Absolutely fantastic place. We where greeted by David the hotel manager and Ivor the concierge. Both of which where fantastically hospitable and cared for myself and fiancées every need which on a wedding show round. Literally cannot commend them and all the staff enough.

I gave it 4* as I wasn't there long enough to enjoy it 100%. I arrived late and was greeted well and generously. After 36hrs of travel with little sleep that's exactly what I needed. The room was large, clean and fabulous. I slept like a log even with a huge storm raging outside. The breakfast was delicious. The overall service was friendly and professional. I will return for sure.

The afternoon tea was lovely and the service so good. We couldn't have asked for a nicer experience (an anniversary present). The voucher was valid for a year which was great in current circumstances.

We stayed in the Gatehouse for two weeks in November and it was perfect. It had everything we needed to come back and relax after a busy day supervising renovation work on our house. Often dined at the hotel both in the restaurant and in the bar. Excellent food and wonderful staff, friendly and efficient. Thoroughly recommend it and we’ve promised ourselves a return visit.

We had never been before, and only went because my wife was redeeming a gift voucher in the spa. She had a very positive experience there, and I was well looked after while I waited. We asked on the spur of the moment if we could stay for lunch and we were able to be accommodated. The menu was extensive and fresh. Our meals were excellent and service was exemplary at all times. Prices were typical, not outrageously expensive. Throughout our visit all staff were extremely professional, helpful, attentive but also friendly and welcoming. It was certainly a 5 star hotel experience but without the stuffy atmosphere you get sometimes in these places. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Beautiful place, just wish they would have put on the outside lights after the function we attended ended so people could walk down there road to the gate to get the coach home (coach couldn't get up there road) several trips and falls and ppl walking in to bushes in the pitch black! Only downside to a great night!

We were gifted an a/noon tea at Lochgreen. We've passed by so many times, but never actually gone inside. Wow! What a lovely experience. It was a beautifully sunny Sept a/noon. There was a wedding on, and it was such a perfect setting for the bridal party. We mentioned that we had just been married the week before, and our a/noon tea was a wedding gift. The cakes came out on a plate with 'congratulations' written on it! Such a nice touch. The tea itself was brilliant. And plenty of it too. We'd definetely recommend it as a gift. We moved from our table, over to the lounge area, where we could watch the bride & groom having photos taken outside on the patio area. After we finished our drinks, we had a walk around the sprawling gardens, which were wonderfully looked after. It's a gorgeous place to be, esp the gardens, and I'm certain we'll be back again.

We stayed at Lochgreen House 25 years ago and our experience was 5 star. We had scheduled 8 nights and moved after 2 very disappointing nights in the "Cottage House". First, the check in staff were all new and very unfamiliar with the "Cottage House", no one to help with our luggage and the Cottage House was disgusting; seventies furniture, carpet with pet stains and odors, located on a noisy, busy road. We had dinner our first night in the Main house where the bar was full of a wedding party that looked like they just came from a rugby match. Dinner was extremely average. The Main house, gardens, and restaurant were very nice. Breakfast which was included was good. It appears the main focus is now on Weddings. The Manager was helpful considering it was her first day on the job. She has a major task to bring this property back up to standard.

This was for a funeral tea. The staff were excellent young friendly and trained. Being escorted to the dining area was very professional. The food was excellent and good variety and plenty of it. The only down side is trying to get out the car park I found that quite dangerous. Maybe a mirror to see the traffic coming from the right might be a good idea..

Beautiful hotel in a lovely location. The staff were exceptionally welcoming, friendly and helpful. Rooms were huge, immaculate and well equipped. Special mention to Aiden a member of the waiting staff who was an absolute gentleman and utter credit to the hotel. So polite and accomodating with excellent interpersonal skills. Thank you.

Stayed overnight following a big wedding. Everything was good, the friendly and helpful staff, the food, the huge comfortable bed and the superb breakfast, especially the egg poached to perfection. Highly recommended. 😀👍

This hotel would have received five stars on every aspect. However, they knowingly put me in a room with a broken shower. I was then scalded and they didn't even follow up after I left the premises. Complete let down given that the rest of my experience at the hotel was good. Was a wedding event and a lovely hotel otherwise. Utterly shocking disregard for guest safety. Despite my remaining calm, polite and discreet following the incident, they have displayed a 'couldnt care less' attitude for my welfare. Wish I had not stayed there. Fawlty Towers would have been expected to behave like this. Shocking.

We got married at Lochgreen in July and couldn't have had a better experience. The service we received from Dawn and her team right from when we first booked was exceptional and nothing was ever too much trouble. We commented at all stages how flexible our wedding was able to be at Lochgreen and we really were able to tailor it to our exact requirements, including special requests, which resulted in the perfect day. We had some amazing comments from our guests about how incredible the venue, guest rooms and food was. We have nothing but fond memories to look back on. Thank you Lochgreen and Dawn! Can't wait to be back celebrating our first anniversary at Lochgreen next year

A nice hotel in Ayrshire with a good view onto the golf course. I was there for a wedding and the staff were great and efficient. As a wedding venue it was a lovely place to experience my friends getting married. The rooms were nice but nothing amazing. For the price paid they were large rooms but need modernising. The equipment within the room was basic and I have had more in a Premier Inn. Breakfast was rather disappointing with a small cold buffet selection and the hot food being average at best. Finally for a 5 star hotel I was disappointed that there was no EV charging especially given the location of the venue.
