We
deliberately
booked
a
private
city
tour
with
Verena
Röse
because
she
offers
a
lot
of
individual
tours
and
the
homepage
makes
you
want
to
go
on
a
city
tour.
The
city
tour
was
a
family
gift
for
our
father's
85th
birthday
and
was
part
of
our
"Frankfurt
Day".
Our
family
includes
a
wide
range
of
ages
from
14
to
85
years
old.
So
of
course
there
should
be
something
for
everyone.
The
contact
with
Ms.
Röse
in
advance
was
very
pleasant,
so
we
were
all
really
looking
forward
to
September
9th,
2023.
Due
to
the
age
of
the
recipient,
we
decided
on
a
city
tour
around
the
Römer
and
the
New
Old
Town
of
Frankfurt.
After
a
strengthening
lunch
snack
in
the
small
market
hall
and
the
obligatory
“Flaaschworscht
by
de
Fraa
Schreiber”
we
could
get
started.
We
were
warmly
welcomed
by
Verena
Röse
in
front
of
the
entrance
to
the
Nikolaikirche
on
Frankfurt's
Römerberg
at
1:30
p.m.
and
it
quickly
became
clear
that
our
anticipation
of
the
city
tour
was
very
justified!
:-)
Ms.
Röse
managed
to
win
the
attention
of
young
and
old
(including
her
four-legged
friend
Pete)
in
no
time
at
all.
:-)
Because
of
her
very
friendly,
authentic
manner,
her
incredible
knowledge
of
Frankfurt's
city
history
and
the
humorous
anecdotes
she
told,
the
city
tour
was
a
very
special
experience
from
the
first
to
the
last
minute.
The
city
tour
was
simply
great,
also
because
it
wasn't
a
typical
city
tour.
Ms.
Röse
has
developed
a
great
mix
of
factual
information
(years,
architects,
etc.)
and
interesting
stories
that
you
don't
read
in
every
city
guide.
She
also
has
poems
by
the
Frankfurt
poet
Friedrich
Stoltze
in
her
repertoire.
So,
fittingly,
she
recited
a
great
poem
by
Stoltze
("Mischeehe")
in
front
of
the
"Stoltze
Fountain"
at
the
Hühnermarkt,
after
our
birthday
oldie
knows
Stoltze's
well-known
Frankfurt
poem
inside
out.
:-).
Of
course,
Ms.
Röse
was
able
to
explain
why
Frankfurt
is
called
Frankfurt
just
as
well
as
the
many
statues,
reliefs,
figures,
masks
and
coats
of
arms
on
the
facade
of
the
Römer.
The
story
about
the
creation
of
the
New
Frankfurt
Old
Town
and
the
associated
anecdotes
were
also
very
well
received
by
our
“family
group”.
I
could
go
on
raving
about
the
90
minutes,
but
I
think
it's
far
better
if
you
convince
yourself
that
I'm
not
exaggerating
here!
:-)
In
short:
Thank
you
very
much
for
an
entertaining
and
totally
friendly
city
tour!
We
are
guaranteed
to
be
repeat
offenders
for
another
guided
tour
by
Ms.
Röse!
