The first section contains many cars and motorcycles produced by the old East Germany, all of which have excellent English explanatory notes. The exhibits go on to cover schooling, housing, furnishing leisure activities, policing etc in the DDR, all with well preserved exhibits and explanations. The exhibition doesn't delve too much into the communist system or politics, but does give lots of visual cues to life in the DDR with the sheer volume of exhibits. I also found the drive to enforce uniformity in communism, as well as the waiting time to buy a car quite comical.

But it's really worth seeing.

A kingdom of cars, vehicles, tech-stuff and loads of nostalgia, plus many interesting facts and stories from the DDR-era is presented in a pleasant format in a shopping centre. A visit is recommended!

Vast exhibit of east German artifacts. So much to see. Super fun layout, Ikea style, living rooms, kitchens, class rooms, hair salon, doctors office, and many more. I could have spent at least half a day here but had to catch a train. Highly recommended!
