The location of the beach area on Google Maps is incorrect. The area identified on the map is the Retreat at Rum Point condominiums. The actual Rum Point Beach Club is the adjacent property just to the west (right side of picture with the long dock and treed grounds).

Gorgeous, clear aqua blue water- absolutely breathtaking views! There's a good restaurant to eat at here as well as a gift shop and a HUGE dock and swimming area and hammocks to relax in. Make sure to check out all of the neat signs posted all around- some of them are quite amusing and funny!

One word. Beautiful. The water and ocean life are amazing. So much to see. The beach can get crowded and seating can become scarce, but when you spend a majority of your time in the water, you practically forget there is a beach. That said, the food at Rum Point Restaurant is as amazing as the water. Great vacation spot. If you go, take the Red Sail Sports catamaran across the bay. It's an amazing trip to an amazing spot.

I loved spending the day at Rum Point Beach. Free parking and free Beach with chairs and umbrella, and a nice clean beach. The restaurant is also nice but the menu has a bit to be desired. Nice food, service and of course great location makes everything tasty.

    Love this beach

It’s worth the drive. There are plenty of beach lounge chairs and trees to sit under. Snorkeling here was also one of my favorites there is an artificial reef (line of boulders covered in coral and fish) off of the west dock and it was very easy to swim around without feeling like you might disturb the marine life. We also saw some massive fish under the dock. I stayed in for so long since the water was so warm. The sand is extra soft, but the drinks are pricy 18$USD for one. Jan 2023 - much of the area behind the beach was fenced off. It looked like it was sectioned off to fix damaged walkways and shops. There was no disturbing construction noise …yet

Our private charter took us here after snorkeling nearby. Beautiful views from the bar area. We stopped by for a mudslide — they were good; made virgin drinks for the kids which was appreciated. However, the bartender was awfully stuffy and inattentive.

A tiny beach in the shade of pine and coconut trees, with a bar and a marina desk where you can rent snorkeling equipment and book cruises to the distant Stingray City. Cocktails prices all hover around $10, food is your typical bar food with a Caribbean twist. There is the fenced/cordoned area where adults congregate and drink in waist deep water. Swimming farther, up to the end of the pier and around, only dead coral as is expected of an area where boats are numerous and frequent. Still you'll encounter numerous fish, the occasional lost stingray, and if you're lucky and persistent you'll probably see an octopus hiding under a destitute coral. However, and this is the strength of this place, if you swim from the beach towards the markers near the reef, roughly NNW, about 200-300 yards out, you encounter the coral heads on the bayside of the north reef. Next to the second marker there are huge coral heads sitting in 30ft or more of clear water. Here we have seen a million tropical fish, most notable barracudas, moray eels, and nurse sharks. You could pay a boat to take you there but why pay? Make sure you get a signal floater with you to help boats spot you in the water.

This is a beautiful beach off you’re interested in sunsets and a drink. The staff are helpful and the free beach chairs are fabulous. I took a few hours to swim out to a snorkel spot and the waves were moderately difficult. Shore swimming here is covered in kelp. 7 mile beach is much better swimming.

Beautiful huge beach almost like private for free. Free parking. Lot of activities and restaurants. Fun place to spend a day. Changing room available.

Great spot to sit by the beach. Not great for a swim, so head down to starfish point for that. It’s a short walk and much nicer. Hopefully prices come down once operations are back in full swing

Great snorkeling spot. Plenty of stingrays right off the beach. Great place to have lunch as well.

Second time staying on the Rum side of Cayman. Nice and quiet, with calm water as many have said here. Snorkeling is fair overall, though both times we stayed here, I did see a sea turtle, baracuda and lion fish during my snorkling. Drinks at Rum Point Club are overpriced IMO. Food is pretty decent and fair priced. Vibe is great if you like it quieter. Seven Mile is for you if you like typical beach and upbeat vibe.

Peaceful beach with a pier made a most relaxing day in Grand Cayman. Plenty of lounge chairs and umbrellas. The water is a little murky from the sand being churned up.Nice restaurant for lunch with a view. There's a gift shop if you forget your bathing suit. There is a bathroom but it was closed when I visited.

I had the most amazing day at the beach! The scenery was breathtaking, with soft sand and crystal-clear water. I finally spotted some beautiful starfish, and it was such a magical moment! Just a heads-up: be careful not to pick them up, or you might get a hefty $5,000 ticket! Overall, it was a fantastic experience. I can’t wait to go back! 🏖️😍

Nice beach but I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit. When you get there, you’ll arrive at a large parking lot and then go up a few steps into an open bar/restaurant area - it was very busy when we visited mid week around 11am. Past the bar, there is a small white sand beach with calm shallow water and lounge chairs almost to the edge of the shore. If you walk around the corner of that beach, past the area with leaves and sticks, there’s a longer beach with rocks (in the photo). Don’t get me wrong, it’s still a beach on the Cayman Islands so it’s beautiful; I just think there were plenty of other really breathtaking beaches that were more “worth it” on the island.

Beach was ok. Water was not as clear as we hoped. But nice to stop on your way to starfish point. It had been raining on and off so maybe that also can make my opinion as such. However I do not find it worth it to drive all that way for just this beach. If it’s on the way, cool, but not to go out of your way for.

We stayed at the Island Houses across the street from Rum Point. We were able to walk down the beach a bit to a shady spot. We kayak out near the dock and snorkeled. Coral reef and fish were visible. The Rum Point Club made for a nice dinner/ drink spot.

Visited Rum Point Beach a couple weeks ago. It was a cute area with lots of shade, blue waters, etc., but there's ongoing construction, plus they were closing early for a private event that day, so availability/accessibility felt limited due to the construction and the event. I would be curious to see what it will look like after the construction!

Still under construction. Don’t waste your time because it’s very noisy there , but I assume after the construction is over it will be a nice spot.

Fun beach. Not the nicest I have been to, but some decent food options and store. We had a great time.

Visited 2/22/23. Currently undergoing expansion of restaurant, so entire beach area has been moved to the west of dock. However, dock still accessible and a substantial beach area still available. New, man-made snorkeling area to east of dock (re-purposed ironshore coral) nice. Good kid/family spot, despite construction. Food from transitional kitchen quite good (great, fresh snapper sandwich). Wait service times a bit extended but staff very friendly, and helpful. Look forward to returning and seeing the new product, next year - and hoping they retain at least some of the old and timeless Rum Point charm and ambience (1st visit here 1993). This is a great snorkeling spot, we saw lots of fish and a stingray. Worth the drive to do this spot and the starfish beach snorkeling at the same time.
