Beautiful and serene but tons of your boats dropping people off who trample through the water and pick the starfish up and drag them around. I wish people wouldn't touch them at all and I wish tour boats didn't come and people had to drive there on their own to cut down on the water traffic for the starfish's sake. I saw way too many parents letting their toddlers and kids manhandle the starfish and pull them out of the water against the boat operator's advice. Made me sad and worried for the well-being and future of the starfish here.

A few here but many are scared away from all the tourists.

Stop number two on Our excursion. Definitely a must for adults and kids alike! It is certainly an unexpected gem. The water is quite shallow, and upon docking, we immediately saw many starfish. Our captain on our private excursion was extremely knowledgeable and shared a wealth of information about the starfish and the location. If you are looking for a private charter to visit this location and others be sure to check out Crazy Crab adventures and be certain to request Dave and Mike! They are phenomenal!

If you’re already nearby, such as visiting Rum Point, it’s worth stopping by. However, don’t expect a large number of starfish—they’re quite sparse. We were able to spot about three starfish in the shallow, walkable area within 5–10 minutes. You don’t need a tour company to visit. In fact, we initially came here as part of a bioluminescence tour(told we will see starfish with sunset), but it was so dark that we couldn’t see anything. When we returned the next day on our own, we had much better luck. There’s free parking available, but the entrance can be a little tricky to find—it’s near a parking lot with a swing.

Great place to visit. There were starfish everywhere. There were many excursions stopping there, so it did get crowded. Yachts and tour boats were everywhere. A lot has changed since our last visit 12 years ago. It's no longer a hidden gem. You no longer need to go through the gate, which says no public access. You enter to the left of the gate. There are several parking spaces available and restrooms. We enjoyed holding the starfish under the water and seeing the fish towards the deeper edge. The water is very shallow at the beginning and then drops off where you can snorkle and the boats dock. It was a great experience!!

Very shallow and gentle waves, good for kids and adults. Enough star fishes for everyone. Do not lift them out of the water or they will die within 3 to 4 minutes!!! Must book a tour to get here.

Beautiful side of the island, calm and peaceful. The starfish are of course a great attraction. The unfortunate thing is the large amount of seaweed which have a bad smell and kinda ruins the experience and you don’t feel so comfortable to swim and spend more time there.

Starfish point is an excellent point to visit when you are at Cayman. Beautiful creatures dotted around the beach. You have to careful when you get in, not to step on them. Highly recommended to visit the place before sunset so that you can enjoy the view of the sunset. It is an absolutely breathtaking place to spend your evening. There is a place to shower and restrooms to change clothes.

Kids favorite place in the Cayman Islands. The drive here was beautiful from Seven Mile Beach and worth it in our rental car. Tons of starfish here and kids learnt a lot about how to hold them. Keep the sea stars in the water all the time when holding them in your hand please. We also spotted snakes when walking towards the shore points so be careful. Clean bathrooms on site. And limited parking available.

We arrived by boat, on a boat tour. There were starfish, and it was a nice peaceful little stop.

It's a nice spot to hang out. Not a lot of parking. Only a few starfish but still cool to see.

Lovely beach with starfish just off shore. Small free car park with public toilets. Not anymore, but perfect place to have a quick stroll and see starfish in there natural surroundings.

It was a great experience. I didn't see them at first, but an islander helped he find them. I assomed they would be closed to the shore. After we went waist deep we found quite a few.

Snorkelled all over the Caribbean and has never seen such a high concentration of starfish in one place. Absolutely worth a visit if you are on the island! We drove from George Town to make it for sunrise and pretty much had the place to ourselves the entire morning. Wonderful experience. Please please don’t pick them up, as the sign states - they belong in the water for all generations to enjoy.

A clean beach with some fish, but nothing really to do. The namesake starfish are cool to look at, but there aren't many on the beach. There are way more tourists than wildlife - I recommend skipping this unless your kids really love starfish.

First time seeing and holding starfish! This is our favorite spot to watch the sunset as well!

Very nice area. On the day we were there, it was relatively quiet and relaxing. It's not a huge carpark. It's shaded under trees and has washroom facilities. No problem parking our car. Seen plenty of starfish close to the shore. Make sure to bring swimwear to relax and swim in the crystal clear water. Well worth a visit.

We drove up here from the 7 mile beach area. You have to park and walk to the left for this beauty. This is one of the stops for several tour boats so there’s usually a lot of people in the area. The water is ankle deep with starfish all around. Definitely a great place to visit.

On the calmer side of island so much less wind. Beautiful sandy beach and of course, the orange starfish were such a treat to see.

Such an amazing location! But DON'T take the starfish out of the water or they'll die!! They need water to breath and local guides say everytime people take them out the inability to breath accumulates and they will die. Please leave these beauties in the water!

Nice area to spend a few hours. Small public parking area with restrooms. Open shower heads to rise off after swimming. We saw some starfish and jellyfish and enjoyed a short walk between the trees and beach. Walk out to the furthest points to see better wildlife. No need to book a tour if you have a car. You can wade in to calf or waist and find starfish.

Free. Don’t take the starfish out of the water. Small parking area with restrooms and showers. ( < 10 cars can park) then you can walk out to the point. During cruise/daytime many boats pulled up and people got off. Was nice earlier in the morning with fewer people.

Such an amazing experience to see starfish. We drove to Starfish Point and parked in the small lot close to the beach. After walking a short distance, we were able to get into the ocean and see the starfish. We spent an hour there admiring the sea and starfish. We stayed away from the tour boats and felt like we had a better experience than they did.

Amazing area of the World. It's very beautiful and peaceful. I rank the Cayman Islands right up there with most of the Hawaiian Islands.

Great beach and snorkeling. We saw at least 6 starfish!

Facilities: There are flush toilets (the ladies has 3 cubicles) so plenty of space to get changed. There is also a beachside shower to rinse yourself and your feet after going in the water. Probably 10-15 car parking spaces. Beach: There is a small beach area but the water is very shallow for quite a way out so plenty of space to paddle and find starfish. We saw at least 10-15 in the shallows and more snorkeling. There is a private dock to the left of the public beach and we saw 3 lion fish underneath it.

This was an amazing place for all ages to go see. There was a lot of starfish just lying around, and there was stingray and tarpon. They had a food boat show up, and the wings were amazing and had other stuff to choose from. I would recommend visiting while you are there. We took a boat tour to Stingray City, and it took us there. But you can visit by car as well.

Great little beach to visit, wasn't too busy but we're quite a few flies buzzing around and the trash cans were overflowing. But otherwise definitely worth a short stay to enjoy the bountiful starfish, just take care not to damage them in handling.

Bring your own snorkel and see the starry ocean floor, all different sea stars in abundance. Wear water shoes if the turtle grass bothers you. If you have a car and plan to come out to Rum Point/Kaibo, no need to pay for an excursion. There are showers to rinse off.

Calm waters. But not too clear. Was there in Dec so not sure if that was the reason. But the water was a little cloudy if you went to far out. Saw a few starfish. That was nice. The beach itself is really beautiful and calm. There is a lot of turtle grass if you are close in. But all in all, calm and just beautiful.

Gorgeous place. Many starfish. Snorkeling masks are a must. We drove and parked in a small parking lot. Convenient bathrooms. Picnic tables. Cone early before 10am, many tours arrive by 11 and it's a zoo. Spent an hour there Snorkeling.

Beautiful large red starfish can be observed and touched, but do not take them out of there water (they have to stay fully submerged). Very tranquil little stretch of natural beach with calm waters to swim in. To enjoy the peace and quiet: get there early before too many people pile in.

Fun place to take a drive to and see starfish. Lots of tour boats in the area but didn't bother us. Not a large beach but decent area to sit. There is parking and restrooms

Went there yesterday and there were lots of star fish, big too. Car parking is limited but the beach, we found was clean, no plastic bottles. We saw 6 chickens finding food and trumpet fish. It was lovely and we were there for an hour.

It was a cool place, saw lots of starfish, and you can pick them up. Just make sure you don't get them all the way above the water.

  • 5/5 Silvia L. 1 year ago on Google
My favorite. Calm, shallow, clear water, very mild breeze. Plenty of starfish laying here and there. Clean toilets and picnic tables. Lots of shady spots to park your car and your belongings by the beach.

You can access Starfish point easily by car. Free parking and bathrooms are available. The beach itself looks very neglected. Plastic bottles and other trash laying around. As the sign says....once there were a lot and now a few. I only saw 4-5 starfish. People are told not to take them out of the water but still do. This beach deserves more love.
