Castro is now is at number one on my Brussels Rue du Marché au Charbon list, with the insane La Baroque at number two and Station BXL with a highly talented but under-appreciated DJ at number three.

The perfect Irish dive bar in the noble sense of the expression. Not pretentious, owners are funny and welcoming. No non-sense, accept cards, convenient hooks for the jackets and... they sell Belgian chocolates :) they have a screen and cast sport events. Go there if you look for a simple yet efficient bar.

The young lad was friendly enough, but there’s a racist drunk Irish old man in the bar who will kill your night by interrupting your conversation with your friends and talking about racist comments. It’s disgusting. Drinks are stinky cheap, that’s for the one star.

Very friendly service and a nice choice of Belgian specialty beers, this place is especially recommendable if it's nice weather and you can chill out in the beach chairs (if you're lucky because the terrace can become packed in better weather). On this traffic-free square you'll also find other charming Brussels cafés if this place is too packed.

I watched Eurovision here. The owners were nice and had their dog walking around and being friendly with customers. The beers were inexpensive. The atmosphere was cheerful.

Great bar! Visited right before the pandemic shut down Belgium. Variety of great drinks at reasonable prices. Very relaxed, no non-sense environment. Met one of the owners who was very attentive and a funny guy. Will be stopping in, next time I'm in town.

New Irish pub, gay friendly. Good place to watch rugby, have the perfect pint of Guinness and engage with locals and expats.

Fantastic Pub, just 5 mins from Grand Place. Great hospitality from the owner and his husband, who took the time to join us for a drink and were entertaining.

My fav place, the owners are gays but this is not a gay bar, a lot of different people come there and what I love is that you can be whoever you want there!! Very cozy atmosphere with very good prices as for the Brussels city center!!!

Brilliant local pub with the friendliest owners (including the dog!). A step away from Grand Place but with the cosiest atmosphere and perfect service. Cheap prices and great terrace location. Everyone feels super welcome there

The terrace is well placed and was pleasant at the end of the evening. The boss is a very sympathetic original. We will return!

Some places have a 'Beware of dog' sign, this one should install a 'Beware of Owner' sign.
