The place is great. Has 2 large function rooms. The pub part usually has good music and decent beer and the restaurant is large welcoming and reasonably priced along with having great food.

Under the new Management of Sinead this place has a really Cosy, Calm and relaxed atmosphere. Food is delicious and fantastic value. All home cooked food on site. Why not follow up you meal with a wonderful dessert and top class coffee with home made complimentary cookie. You can also enjoy a glass of house wine without having to buy the bottle.

The place itself is ok, the drinks are fine but the staff are miserable. Never a smile! You always feel you are never welcome and they have a rigid policy on many things that completely go against what the Irish Pub should be. A welcome, friendly atmosphere for all...is not this place's motto. We're local and the most recent visit was the final chance!

I was on my way elsewhere with my 5 year old when she randomly said she wanted to go here as we were passing. Had no idea want to expect but was glad we dropped in. I had the roast beef and it was absolutely delicious. The restaurant doesn't look much but the food is lovely. The kids menu is very limited but she enjoyed her sausage and chips.

Pub grub type menu, although The Kitchen restaurant is in a separate room from the main Thatch pub. There's always a couple of specials with a more traditional meat and two veg type meal like cottage pie or beef and broccoli pie, and something like fish and chips. Not bad for what it is

Was in The Thatch a couple of weeks ago. Couldn't afford to return. We were a group of four. We had one cup of tea, one Coke, two coffees, & three small cakes. The bill came to €26.60!!! The cakes were nice, the coffee too, but seriously couldn't afford the outrageous prices. The music is way too loud, you actually have to raise your voice to be heard. There is no menu, & no prices displayed for snacks. There is a very indistinct board behind the counter, but difficult to read. Won't be back there.

Had breakfast in here one morning on our way to play golf in Dundalk. Was pleasantly surprised. The small breakfast was gorgeous, the service was excellent, and the staff were very nice. They were busy enough that morning, and there was a lovely buzz about the place.

The food is fantastic, fresh and tasty. The meat was tender, the veg was flavoursome and the potatoes were cooked to perfection. The service is always top class, Josephine and the other ladies go above and beyond. We'll be back

Just popped in for fast lunch. Food was gorgeous, pepper and mushroom sauce to die for, and roasted potatoes best we ever had. Service was fast and very friendly. Highly recommended.

I felt very let down by my recent breakfast visit to this restaurant. When I ordered, the waitress greeted me with a blank expression that seemed to say, "What do you want?" Her attitude lacked the friendliness and basic manners I'd expect in a place like that. It was disappointing since I had high hopes for my first visit. Overall, it was an unpleasant experience, and I definitely won't be rushing back there anytime soon.

Lovely pub with great food. Delighted we chose it for night out. Very unusual with little thatched house in it. Really good toilets v clean too. Couldnt fault it or the staff

Average at best! Restaurant is very well decorated and comfortable. The food isn't what I expected and the staff didn't really seem to have a clue what they were doing. Ordered roast pork and roast turkey. Both were quite dry, pork was tough, carrots were half cooked ( not al dente) also all dried out looking as if sat under heat lamps for too long. Roast mixed veg lacked flavour too. It wasn't expensive though so that's a plus. A lot of places have gone very expensive and I would class it as reasonable if the food was better. Has the potential to be a goldmine but unfortunately let down by food and staff.

Diner cooled as plates were not hot enough. Roast beef a bit rate... needed and extra half hour cooking time. Overall very clean, fast and not to expensive.

Had my 21st there last Saturday in the grange room and I can’t thank Mary enough. Mary was amazing she went above and beyond for me and to accommodate all my requests. Mary decorated the room for me and even let me add my own touches as-well which I was super grateful for. I can’t recommend the thatch enough I had an amazing night and the staff were all so friendly. The food that comes with the party was absolutely gorgeous I couldn’t stop eating it and they weren’t small portions either. There was loads of dance floor space which was great cause we weren’t all squished. I can’t genuinely can’t thank Mary enough she was genuinely amazing and was so polite and friendly. If your thinking of having a party there definitely get in contact with Mary

The food is fresh. That's the only good point. It's insanely overpriced, you can get lot better options at the town center for lower price. And it's just not tasty. Maybe their evening options are better, but the lunch offering is a joke. The coffee is just mediocre.

I believe they serve a nice pint - I gave it up 7 years ago so cannot confirm personally. I used to really enjoy it years ago when the old thatched building in the front was the bar. That building was nearly destroyed by a fire more recently but quick thinking and heroic action by my nephew helped save the structure.
