Poor slow service had to keep looking for everything from knife and fork to napkins to sauce had to ask twice for a drink 5 staff on and not busy no one came to see if we needed anything had to keep looking for a waitress 15 euro for a burger and chip and not even hot won't be going back any time soon could of done with some side salad

Disappointing. Food was Okay, but not great. Extremely long wait, 30 minutes for food to arrive, considering the restaurant was almost empty. Throughout the entire dining experience, not a single waiter attended to our table, all spent their time talking at the bar. We were served by a manager who seemed to always be in a hurry to run off somewhere. Want to thank the man with an orange apron (KP?), who served our dishes and wished us a good meal, as without his kind service, we genuinely would have left.

It was amazing. We arrived early, and no one was there yet. Our food (I had ordered the spicy buffalo chicken wings and a burger) was made quickly and the service was great. The waitresses always checked up on us, if not too much sometimes. 😂 The only complaint I have, is the burger was just a bit dry and I would recommend the restaurant to have a sauce dip on the side for the fries. It's cozy in there with some good bangers from the 90's.

Have had multiple bad experiences over the years but was persuaded recently to try again for some food and drinks to watch a football match. Entered and while sitting down was told all the tables were reserved for hotel residents but could sit outside and "It is quite cold though". Absolutely amazing that we were turned away considering how empty/quiet it was.

Very limited selection of alcohol free beers. None on draught. Hope thís can be addressed. Staff are polite and friendly but seem to lack experienced members. Service can be slow and can be left waiting.

Never again! We have been here twice in one week, it takes 20 mins for a food or drink order and another 15 min for drinks to arrive. This is the worst service I have ever received in all of Drogheda. The staff confessed they’ve had no training hence they had no clue and I hate to be rude but with their grade of English couldn’t comprehend basic requests, aka asked if we needed a menu when in front of us, ordered large wings and both given smalll, ordered drinks which took 20 mins plus, nobody knew what belonged to what table. Just an embarrassment if you ask me! Wrong drinks, wrong food, wrong table on not one but two nights. Tonight we asked to order drinks after 20 mins waiting to be received by a waitress’s response ‘ what do you want’ so rude and abrupt. When we asked for the bill we were brought 2 one my husband went to take and the waitress snatched back from his hands and he told her not again. I never being a regular diner and customer around Drogheda have experienced service like this twice in a week. We are disgusted, shocked and will not be returning. Not to mention being served small wings served then after a complaint in a big bowl, no onion rings which arrived 30mins after which were ordered at the start and a total lack of professionalism from staff. Again I say, NEVER AGAIN

No one to greet when entered. I would rate only one staff member as excellent. Steaks were good. Bit quiet on night I was there.

Unreal grub, lovely staff, delicious cocktails! 2 different times during the fleadh they let me bring my dog into the outdoor section, she got to sit up on a chair and listen to the Music 💗 I've a soft spot for them cause of that.

Consistently the worst pint of Guinness in town. Service can be hit and miss too. Hate to say it but steer clear if you can.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. Went to the pub last night. We had a table reserved but when we got there there were other people sitting at the table, and they were never told it was reserved for us in the evening time. When we eventually got seated, we asked at least 5 members of staff for a menu and every single one of them ignored us. When we eventually got a menu, we realised it was not the same menu as on their website and was extremely reduced and nothing on it was appealing to us so we eventually left. I wouldn’t recommend this pub to anyone and from reading the reviews on google, we were not the only ones who got dirty looks etc from staff.

The service was abit slow on the night but with all the new changes I totally understood so that's why I still gave it 5 stars the staff was extremely friendly and it had a wonderful atmosphere. The two guys working the bar was great but one guy Richard Bradley I believe it was went above and beyond for the customers a wonderful manner how they worked in that tiny space though I do not know. There was also a lady she was all in black floor manger I think she was extremely pleasant and helpful lovely lady. So all and all a great night .So ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ a must go but go for the bus food so much faster .

booked here for a birthday meal, terrible table service. staff didn't know the menu. food arrived cold & some didn't arrive at all. some of the food was nice but considering we had booked in advance it wasn't amazing

Great atmosphere for drinking beer and lunch . You must visit this place

Lovely little story. My wife was there last night for a meal with work associates . A drink and settled for a meal. Talking to a young couple and the waitress left the menu to them and said the card machine was out of order so did they have cash? The young man says no so is directed to the nearest cash machine in Scotch Hall and duly obliges. The night progresses and the young couple duly pay their bill in cash and leave. A while later my wife goes to settle the bill with her colleagues, digging for enough cash. Waitress comes with a shhh, don’t worry here’s the card machine. My wife says I thought the machine was broken. No says the waitress, we’ve had problems with them before so we only take payments in cash. The couple says my wife. No says the waitress, blacks. This is not an alleged situation, and with three witnesses to it I will be referring it to the proper authorities for further action.

The service was exceptional (Louise our waitress) and the food was great and moderately priced too. There was a lot of choice on the menu ranging from burgers, sandwiches to big meals like lasagne and pasta carbonara. Good place for family during the day, also it generally has football on of a Sunday. Then come the night it's a proper pubs with an exceptional dj. Well worth a visit

Food was lovely, staff was great, place has real good laid back atmosphere. Loved it! Edit: 3 years later place is in bits. Waiters were nice but they had to be physically running up and down. In space of 2 hours, was only able to have 2 drinks ordered as we were constantly forgotten about. Onion rings were coal rings as they were burned. Greedy managment seems to not care about customers, exploit their staff. We won't be back. Hope the place goes out of business for using slave labour.

Just had an amazing meal in the Hops, the cheese Philly steak is just mouth watering fantastic and my companions had the D burger and the butter chicken and all meals were absolutely gorgeous, the atmosphere is brilliant, this is our 2nd time to eat here and we will definitely be back, complements to the chef and the staff such a friendly place

Stayed in the D Hotel with a friend and went down in the afternoon for a few pints and eventually had some food. I found the bar nice but needing something more "warmer" as a pub. I think the tables are too spread out or something, not sure what is missing but the décor is great and there's a fantastic choice of beers on tap, cocktails and spirits. The staff seemed to be constantly under pressure or away even though the pub was not busy at the time. We ordered food and I had the Philly Steak sandwich...really good and delicious, highly recommended. My friend had the Cajun wrap...equally as good. Nice place, but again there's something missing about the atmosphere.

Not impressed with the service at all, had to go to the bar to order food. Never saw a waiter. Ordered Pork Belly and ended up getting pork roast and was told it is all they have. Fish and chips was not great. Really disappointed.

The chief waiter, is rude and disrespectful. When I asked for a straw, he seemed annoyed and brought them uncovered, in his hand and plonked them in my glass, I regret not refusing to use them, but, used sanitiser from my bag to sanitise them, instead. The meal wasn't bad but, the service wasn't great, the young waiter and waitress, were doing their best, they're probably new in the job. After dinner, we were asked if we want dessert, but weren't ready yet, about 15 -20 minutes later, when we were ready to order, there was absolutely no one to take our order, so we stood up and waited by the till for about 5 minutes, before the Supervisor came along and helped us to pay. On the whole a disappointing experience and I think The D Hotel, The Hops and Goodwins Steakhouse, should look into free parking for patrons, it might encourage more people to eat there.

Good pub grub. Service was excellent. The atmosphere was ambient and I would definitely try out a weekend here.

The best Turkey & Ham we had in a long time. Freshly cooked,big portion size of meats and freshly cooked vegetables not frozen as in other restaurants. Very impressed 👏 Thank you 😊

Nicest meal and service. The food came fast and hot and was delicious. Louise served us and was delightful and made sure we were happy with absolutely everything. Love The Hops and can not wait to go back.

..your a disgrace..ignorant and slow catering we waited 40.mins for food then was told your food is ready would you like it now...I nearly died at this point I could have flung the table it was like the staff was hungover...they brought kids food which was cold ...asked for a wkd was told ill check for ya. Never came back now kids had eaten there food and we still had nothing after being asked after 40 mins after ordering sid we want our food then still never came back so when food is not given with a good heart I'd rather not have it other customers receiving there dinners and us there before them still no sign of food only ignorant staff ..Well never again will I come and it's not over with it by a mile if you think it's acceptable bringing out children's food and leaving adults waiting and knowing to well there was no dinner Brought to us looking down on us I'm fuming that I walked in around you and wasted money

Thank you to Leonie and all the staff for my amazing 50th on 28th Of May . It was an amazing night and the staff were brilliant. Special thanks to Leonie who made it all happen and looked after everything from start to finish. I highly recommend The Hops and will be back again soon

Great food and service, would go again. I picked the Hops from Trip Advisor, I was just looking for somewhere to eat on the way home from an afternoon show in Dublin to Belfast. Very glad I found the Hops. Sat Nav took me off the N1 at junction 8 just past the toll and then straight to the D Hotel car park (1.50 for 2 hours). Food was excellent and good portions. Service also very good. I would definitely go back again.

The waitress was really nice shame the food wasn't the same. Food a lump of plastic in my burger not pleasant. Now both myself and partner are feeling a little green.

Was here on Friday night. The food and drinks were very nice. The reason for the low review is when we asked one of the waiters for our bill he went to the till to get it. Before he had the chance his supervisor/ bar manager stopped him and sent him to a different table. I then watched the manager cause more stress than helpfulness across other staff members. we had to ask 2 more times before we got our bill.
