We were actually on the way to Blackrock in Co Louth, but never managed to get there because of the bike race. This is how we ended at the Stephenstown pond. The pond itself isn't very big, so an ideal walk, if you're not the greatest walker around. The path is easy to walk on and perfect for wheelchairs. Plenty of benches around for resting among amazing trees and listening to hundreds of birds. The minders take great care of the wildlife in that park. Near the carpark is also well placed a playground, a coffee shop and toilets. You can sit inside or outside the coffee shop. The people who run it are really nice, people were all relaxed and happy. It all was a very pleasant experience. But you have to pay admission to get in: 2 Euro.

Lovely place for a walk. The coffeeshop has some decent coffee and snacks. The playground is very modern and looks safe. Great for a stop over with kids.

Nice to see some love given to the infrastructure around the pond itself lately. Place looks great and it's such an ideal place for a wander with small kids.

Turn off the M 1 at exit 16 and your in for a treat with a walk around the pond from the now derelict Stephenstown House. Feed the ducks, swans and water hens. Then go for a light bite, bun, cake, tea or coffee in the coffee shop you'll enjoy it and staff are lovely.

Pretty place for the relax close to nature. We visited it on 1st May, but still there wasn't many people. Good as small bike trip destination. Small coffe shop and toilets available for visitors

Lovely afternoon spent at stephenstown pond. €2 to park is well worth it as there's a great big park for the children, coffee shop, plenty of picnic tables and great for walking. We will definitely be back.

Nice walk around the pond with information panels about animals and plants. Great playground too.

Lovely setting with gravel paths running through the area. Lake with a wide array of bird life and water plants, just watch little ones...good play area and cafe serving fresh soup, sandwiches etc reasonably priced. Lovely afternoon idea.

Great spot with lots of ducks and other wildlife to admire whilst doing laps around the short, but well-kept big pond. Cafe is decent, though quite noisy. Points lost due to having to pay coins to exit the venue - not fitting for a modern venue, and makes it very inaccessible to non-Irish visitors who nowadays are unlikely to be carrying euro coins. Overall a nice spot, but I was turned off big time by the coins issue.

Stunning little pond walk with boardwalk. 2 beautiful swans grace the picturesque scene and the old trees bordering the pond are beautiful. Just be aware of an entrance fee charged at entrance which goes towards costs of maintaining the grounds.

Gorgeous walk in nature. The lap around the pond isn't very long but we usually do a few laps with the dogs. So much wildlife to see and a really well kept playground up the top for young kids and a coffee shop right beside it. It's always well maintained and you'd never know you were just off the road. We absolutely love it!

Small pond. Lots of birds. Very popular with families and children. You must pay €2 to leave the carpark. Cafe and public toilets on site.

Nice short walk around the pond. Bit of maintenance needed. Little coffee shop and looks like they are currently working on a new playground. €2 car park fee

Great facilities for children, playground & coffee shop. Opportunity to feed the ducks on a walk around the lake . Be sure to have a €2 coin as you’ll need it to exit the car park.

Myself and wife brought my daughter today, we fed the birds in the pond then ventured to the playground, my daughter is 4 shortly and she had a great time! Plus myself and my wife really enjoyed this little gem! Will be back for sure!

Lovely pathed pond walk with info along the way about the wildlife. Short walk suitable for toddlers and a buggy. Play area is fantastic since they've added to it. Coffee shop is great but opening times are not predictable.

Beautiful woodland area, quite small, probably only a 1km walk around, but it has a fab children's park and cafe run by very friendly women. It's a pity it's paid entry (€2) as there are much bigger parks operating for free but it's still a nice family experience.

I went there on Thursday. It's a beautiful place but the café was closed... And also the bathrooms...

👍👍 We came as a group of 25 men and stayed outside where they had a wood-fired oven. They can do 3 pizzas at a time but that was fine and they came shortly after another. Very nice place with great pizza. Very friendly staff. Will come again for sure.
