We visited today during the special weekend, we had a great family day out from young to old. The staff were very knowledgeable & great at interacting with the kids. There was so much to see we will have to go again to make sure we didn't miss anything. Definitely recommend visiting you won't be disappointed.

Great spot to visit! Went with my son and there was a heck of a lot crammed into the place. Super friendly staff and really family/kid friendly. Some really great items and vehicles, you can handle deactivated weapons too such as ppsh41, m1 grand and stg 44. Exhibits from all eras too. They also have open days with vehicles outside etc, well worth following their Facebook page. Not many military museums in Ireland and this is well worth a trip! We'll definitely be back 👍🏻

Great way to spend some family time together and learn at the same time. Lots to look at. The staff are really friendly and have loads of knowledge and information. We were even allowed to hold some things and feel how heavy some of the armour is. Overall great day out.

Spent a great time in the museum with my brother-in-law. Had great chats with William and Gavin, both very knowledgeable, helpful: no problem handling items of interest. Range of exhibits is great, with many unexpected vehicles, especially the Hanomag 251and M3 halftracks, and the Greyhound armoured car with a very interesting history. Highly recommended to anyone with an interest in military history and memorabilia.

The Museum has such a wide collection of guns, tanks and other equipment from almost every major war in every country. My young boys love the place and we go here often enjoying the tour guide every time. Don't pass through Co.Louth without paying this museum a visit.

My girlfriend and I visited this museum yesterday and thought it was lovely. There are plenty of things you can touch and interact with and the owner is happy to take a certain gun out of one of the locked cabinets to let you hold it or tell you more about it. It's a small enough place but for 12.50 a ticket, I think its worth seeing

All the staff are top class people. There are that many detailed exhibits you would need multiple viewings to take it all in ! There are WW1,WW2,Vietnam war,OP Desert Storm exhibits and many rare items not to mention the vehicles on show. All the staff there are happy to answer any questions you may have. Definitely get to the museum

I'm really impressed with the Irish Military Museum. The Guides (William & Co. ) are very knowledgeable & engaging. Our students had a fantastic time. It was a very unique educational experience and helped reinforce their classroom learning about WWI. The guides are flexible in terms of being able to adapt the tour to the needs of students and teachers. This was our second trip to the Museum so far and we look forward to bringing more of our students in the near future. What is unique about this museum is that students are able to hold a lot of the weaponry and try on many of the uniforms and helmets. There's few places in the world where a museum will go the extra mile like this. This helps cement their learning with a fully immersive experience. I would highly recommend a visit to the Irish Military Museum. Mr. Collins, Post Primary Teacher at Oatlands College.

Our crew had a great time here today. While the act of war is abhorrent to me, it is part of history and has been well preserved here. I’m very interested in industrial evolution and the museum has a wealth of artefacts. The displays are very well thought out with detailed information. A credit to the team involved.

Wow! This museum is a hidden treasure! I can’t believe this place isn’t in the capital. From ww1 to modern times it’s a great walk through to experience.

Can't say enough good things about this place. A group of 7 of us showed up around 18:30 on a Friday evening ready to pitch up tents in the camping field, but due to recent rain we were offered indoor sleeping in a cabin onsite. Price was dropped by 50% and recommendations for good local food were given. Before we left in the morning, the guys who run the place let us have a coffee and hold the guns inside for free and wished us well on our trip home. Definitely worth a look if you're in the area, friendly staff and interesting exhibits. Plenty of good pubs nearby if you're staying over.

We camped here aswell as visiting the museum. The museum has lots to see and it's worth a visit. Just such a vast collection here at the museum. The campsite, is basic but provides such a great location to visit newgrange, Knowth and Dowth, and Tayto Park. We will be back as this is a great location to explore the surrounding area

Absolutely fantastic place to visit. It might be small, but it packs so much in. The place is absolutely rammed with original pieces and so well laid out and documented. However what really makes this place worth visiting, is the staff. They seem like a bunch of mates who collected so much memorabilia, that they thought it might be best to open a museum and what a job they did. They are always on hand to answer questions, offer advice or simply impart their infectious enthusiasm to one and all (especially children). Museums rules do apply here, however with room for manoeuvre. If items are within arms reach, they encourage you to pick them up, play with them, enjoy them and then put them back. Linen ropes here set the boundary, rather than velvet ones. I live about 30 minutes away and the first thing my kids (10 & 8) said to me when we got home was 'when can we go back to the museum'

Great display, quite dense, lots of history there. Really enjoyed some stories and facts told by the personnel. Sadly inflatable village wasn’t working, coffee shops closed too.

Highly recommend a visit to this place! The curators have an infectious passion for their collection which started at 8 years old. The collection covers multiple wars and armies.

Absolutely loved it. Staff were so friendly and helpful and you could see they enjoyed chatting about the different features. Great value for money. They have a small shop at the exit which is a crowd pleaser. And a picnic area and park were spotless. Would definitely return and highly recommend.

Went camping here for 3 nights with the kids. Had a blast, would definitely recommend. Military museum is a must see, absolutely brilliant. They even have tank driving which was awesome. William and all the staff were great. Best camping we've done. Also has a huge blowup assault course thing for kids at the weekend. Love it. Barely saw the kids so it was the perfect family break.

This museum has excellent displays and an extraordinary collection of WWI and WWII vintage pieces of military history. William and Gavin were so kind to my 10 year olds and patiently answered all their questions. The boys found the interactive nature of some of the elements on display particularly fascinating and hugely enjoyed the visit. Would highly recommend for anyone with even a passing interest in history. An incredible educational visit accessible for everyone.
