Room good bar staff pleasant Breakfast poor. Walked into restaurant nobody to greet you or show you to a table. Eventually found a clean table. Waited 10 mins for member of staff who was busily talking to a workman before she noticed we were waiting to be asked if we would like tea or coffee. Not a good impression for hotel

We booked this hotel as there was a wedding not too far and I have to admit, we were pleasantly surprised! Our room was huge, clean and overlooked the harbour. Breakfast was also great - there was a homely vibe to it and the staff were nice and attentive. This hotel was also really good value compared to what we’re used to in Dublin.

The beds are knackered, quite literally worn out, on seeing bed , I asked to change rooms, was told by reception that there’d be no point, as all the beds were in same condition. Curtain was literally hanging off, which sleep that little bit more difficult as couldn’t really darken the room. I asked at reception if it was possible to have some extra pillows, as the two ridiculous flat things supplied, weren’t really fulfilling the roll of a pillow. None ever materialised. Shower was great if you averaged 5.5, as I’m 5.11, it was difficult to wet more than one small patch a time. There’s no adjustment available. Breakfast was not good, terrible oily fatty overcooked bacon, “ orange juice” a relic of 70’s. Trying to find a clean table was fun, cos believe me, none of the staff are going help you find one. Bars, restaurants all looking tired and worn out, with matching atmosphere. How this place has anything more than 2* baffles me. I paid £400 for 2 nights of practically zero sleep . This place sucks! Avoid.

Decent price for a very large, clean comfortable room, excellent location within Drogheda for a short stay away. Staff are exceptionally pleasant, food in the restaurant was simple but very focused on great presentation, good quality ingredients and everything cooked with care, considering how busy the hotel was, the service was quick and you could really feel the effort put into the cooking. The cocktails next door were fab and there is a very clean shopping centre next door with a nice mix of shops. I will definitely recommend and I hope to return in the future.

Photos is the ‘wonderful view’ from my balcony from my upgraded room. NO WATER supplied !! You have to buy it. You arrive at a room without water! Zero stars. Customer service lackluster, no Irish staff in an irish hotel. No.

Sep23- great location central and by the river Boyne. Bit noisy at times (inside and out) and beds are bit firm for us... if you like them that way you'll be OK Lovely spacious rooms, clean, stylish, and full bathroom. Tea and coffee making in room. No fridge. Sadly no hot water in bathroom despite a good sized bath available. Great space and liked the decor and style of hotel; modern and fresh. Staff at reception were so helpful and friendly. In fact ALL the staff were great even if a few issues with room. Irish hospitality on show.

The Hotel is amazing and spotlessly clean. The location is ideal in. Drogheda, you don't need a car. All the staff especially the bar staff are really lovely. Breakfast was amazing with a great selection. Food in the bar was also great and they cater for everyone. The room was really beautiful and spacious. My only criticism would be that the room was super hot the following morning, it was over the reception facing the car park. The window was difficult to open. The fan couldn't reach the bed. Other than that it was all a great stay. .

We arrived at 10pm exhausted with our 4 month old and Linda at reception could not have been more accommodating, it meant so much to us. The room was clean and spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast had a lovely range of hot food and a good buffet. Thanks very much D Hotel and Linda :)

Not a bad hotel. Rooms are nice and staff are great. The only downside is they don't have their own bar or restaurant. The bar and restaurant connected are open to everyone and we couldn't get a table for food or even a drink at the bar.

I have stayed at the D several times. Great location to stay and have the ability to take day trips. Then, back to Drogheda to spend the night. Excellent staff, nice, very clean rooms, convenient location, parking close by

Good location in Drogheda by the river. Easy to walk round the town from the hotel. The car park beside it is convenient. Rooms are spacious. Food is very nice.

If you could give a minus rating, you would have one. worst experience ever to stay in a hotel. incompetent staff who walk around with a displeased face and roll their eyes. dirty rooms with only 2 towels for 2 people, one shampoo and two shower gels. we moved a chair and found a used razor, that's good. in the morning we got up and ran away from this hotel even though we paid for breakfast because we didn't want to stay even for a minute. I hope they check you out because you don't meet the stated standards

Location was very handy. Bar and food were great but the room was quite dusty and bulbs were blown in the bathroom. Also called reception for glasses for the room and they were never brought up. Receptionist was a little abrupt on the phone. But all other staff were great!

We stayed here for one night and took advantage of the offer for Emerald Park. The staff were very polite, our room (109) was lovely with a great view of the river. Close to the train station, bus station, and city centre. We were happy with out breakfast and the hotel were kind enough to store our bags on check out while we went out for the afternoon. Will definitely be back.

Stayed here last night with a group of 8 friends and 6 children. The staff went above and beyond for us and the kids during meal time. Couldn't recommend this hotel enough. A special mention to Hamid who was absolutely excellent with the kids and made sure our order was spot on. Staff like hamid can make all the difference In a good stay. Top class and an absolute gentleman.

Fab hotel ..We stayed there for our 20th wedding anniversary in July . They surprised us and upgraded our room to the Pent House suite. Thank you very much, 😊 This is probably our 10th time staying at this hotel. We have come with friends, couples, girls weekend. Great location too as it's near the town which has lovely bars and restaurants

I booked a room on 13th July from Australia. We arrived this afternoon, and unfortunately the room, although very nice, has a view of a dirty roof top and is right next to an internal fire door. Every time someone comes through that door our room door rattles. The room was somewhat warm and stuffy so we opened the window. The top hinge on the heavy window was broken, extremely dangerous to say the least! Not quite satisfied with the situation we went down to reception to ask for another room only to be told that they are fully booked and nothing is available tonight. We can change rooms tomorrow - which we are not keen to do as we don't fancy packing up and moving again. Quite disappointing for us as we had read the reviews before booking and looked forward to our two night stay here. ☹

I booked a room over the phone for my 11 yr old niece and I for one night. When booking, I was not informed that there would be an €11 charge for carparking. (They did have my email address wrong which I corrected on check in) On arrival the barrier to the carpark was up and the guy standing at the barrier told me just to say it at reception that I had a car when I checked in, which I did to be told about the charge and issued with a parking ticket. On leaving the next day, the barrier was up and not once I was asked for the parking ticket or asked to validate it. Waste of time!! Had dinner in Goodwin's restaurant the night of our stay. My niece had spaghetti Bolognese from the kids menu, which I have to say, was tasteless. I had a piece of chicken, mash and mushroom sauce. Tasty but under no circumstances €27. The following morning for breakfast, which was part of the price I asked for a bowl of porridge, to be told it would be an extra charge - for a bowl of porridge!!!! The only saving grace was, we had a large room, extra large double bed, a single bed and an extra fold down single bed (even though I only booked it for two) with a great view of the river. Won't be rushing back.

The best location for a stay in Drogheda. The rooms are a bit dated and they over booked for Friday night which meant that we didn’t get the room we paid for. They made up for it though with an upgrade for the rest of the stay. The service was excellent and the food close to the hotel is good. It’s also an easy walk to other spots. A nice view down the River Boyne if you get a room with a view. It’s a view of a carpark and a unfinished building otherwise.

Had a brilliant night at the D on Saturday,, the room was beautiful, everything you need and more in room, really clean and fresh and the bed was so comfortable. The service and breakfast were delicious, plenty of variety and eggs made by chef to order although my poached eggs could have been softer but that is only small complaint, it's been a few years since we stayed there but it certainly didn't disappoint, overall we had a really good stay

stayed here on Sunday night and it was probably the worse experience I ever had in any hotel. From start to finish absolute disaster my boyfriend booked the room as a treat to relax , first off I felt like we got the worse room in the whole place , no balcony so had to go outside constantly for cigarettes, most hotels these days have smart tvs nothing to watch on tv , we then ordered room service from Goodwins which took nearly 1 hour to arrive , all the food was absolutely freezing everything was COLD , and to top it off the total for that was 115€ we got the early bird which was 25€pp and we both had steak which was an extra 11€ each which brings it to 72€ we were told room service charge is 15€ which brings it up to 87€ which leaves 28€ uncounted for ? We ordered a pint of Heineken and a bottle of west coast cooler rose along with the food I doubt that cost 28€? And then the cherry on top of the cake was the rude lady that seems to run the breakfast area ! We arrived down for breakfast there was two staff members talking and we stood and waited and they just walked past us so we took it we just go and help ourselves and then I was abruptly asked what my room number was which I said room 218 she came back to tell me we weren’t having breakfast we only booked a room I said I added breakfast on when we checked in had there been anyone at the door when we first came I would have been able to give the vouchers we were made feel like we were stealing food absolute joke I’m looking forward to hearing back !

The food in the restaurant is super. I had a steak which was as nice as anywhere. The bar staff need training they are frankly very very slow

Rooms are becoming a little tatty looking, rain damage on the window sills, gutters, and rooftops are full of grass and moss, the derelict building beside it doesn't do any favours, especially if that's the view from your room. Overall, it was a nice place to stay but could use a bit of TLC

Travelers beware of the online pictures versus the actual rooms and area. The staff were all very nice and helpful. Brandon and Kevin, in particular, were truly helpful! The rooms are not clean and they are small. We had booked 2 nights but checked out after the first night. It's more of a hostel like environment than a luxury hotel. The soap package had been opened in the bathroom, I killed 3 spiders upon walking in, and there were hairs in the tub!

Had our recent Christmas night out and it was fantastic, great setting, seriously fabulous food, the staff couldn't do enough. I would recommend this place again. Can't wait until next year Tracey, Rory and the rest of the gang

Sorry but we gave it a try a number of times as we have family living in the area and needed a base. Rooms are sub standard beds are poor at best. Pull back the base sheet and you will be horrified as mattress looks. Like it's been rescued from a land full. Staff were. Not. Interested so we moved our business to. The Village Hotel. Like I say we gave them a chance.

The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful, room was lovely but view from the balcony was a rusty old hulk of a ship, and an unfinished bulding. Breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choices. Stayed 2 night with my cousins wedding party, had a great time, facilities were few but the hotel was spotless clean.

A mixed bag. The good: Spacious rooms, large beds, centrally located, good breakfast. Blackout curtains - big plus. Friendly staff. The bad: Water pressure and temperature are awful, the shower is a Luke warm dribble. Snacks left in room for a charge - either leave them for free or remove these, very tacky. Parking costs €10 daily - might expect this in a large city such as Dublin - but not here. No facilities in the hotel (ie gym, pool) Sheets not changed daily - this is a first I have experienced in any hotel. No plug sockets near bed. Overall, would be happy with this hotel if at a lower price point and advertised as a three star. However - some small changes could really improve this place - sort out the water, remove the awful snacks (I note both of these have been mentioned in previous reviews) and at the current price point, parking should really be included. What is most troubling is that many issues highlighted here have been highlighted in much older reviews, showing the management here are unlikely to change anything.

Tracy from the reservation team is so helpful. I really appreciate her kind assistance. Very good service and central if you are a doctor traveling for work. I was offered a complementary parking and breakfast as professional health care professional. Professional, prompt and friendly staff. Highly recommended. I'll definitely book with this hotel in the future again. One point to improve Electricity sockets next to the beds would be ideal. Thanks again Youssef

Went for the dinner at their steakhouse for wife's birthday, absolutely amazing food one of the best if not the best steak I've ever had. Only gripe i had was once we walked in the girl that welcomed us didn't even look for our reservation and just told us to sit anywhere and left, after that we where waiting for about 20min until someone approached us and asked for our order and drinks. The gentleman that was serving us was called Peter and he was an absolute star of the night, he was super polite, and excellent with service provided. Overall very happy and we will be back again for sure, just please get the welcome experience a bit better and it will be amazing.

Got woken up at 4.30 by the next room who where very load had to ring reception and they did deal with it ASAP. Breakfast was lovely

Starlight Dance Academy We had our Christmas party in the d hotel on Monday 19th December 2023. It was amazing. Serena and the staff spent the day helping us to set up.they were so kind and helpful. The food was lovely. The room looked fabulous. The event was flawless thanks to them. I couldn’t recommend the d hotel enough. We will definitely be back again and again. Well done x Linda

Lady on reception lovely on arrival. A few mix ups on our orders in the restaurant wrong drinks brought out and we were left waiting to order our dinner and then our mains came out before we even got our starters. When we received the bill the price of the starter and main were on the receipt but we had gotten a deal with a two course meal and had paid on arrival so should have not been charged for this. We had mentioned to the girl when we sat down that we had this deal so was disappointed with this. In the room there were only two pillows so one each no extra in the wardrobes, bed wasn’t that comfortable. Breakfast was about the only thing I enjoyed in this hotel. We had gotten a deal on the hotel website stating it included a glass of Prosecco on arrival which we never received. Does not reflect a four star hotel I’ve stayed in nicer hotels to be honest.

Really enjoyable stay at the D Hotel. Very polite and helpful staff, and the food was excellent. Would recommend for a short break, close enough to Dublin that you can go after work and far enough away that you feel like your away.

Nice hotel. The restaurant and food were really tasty. The bar had a great selection of drinks and music on both evenings we stayed. Top tip go down for breakfast early at the weekends, or you will end up queuing.... for a long time! Staff were friendly too, and we had a really enjoyable stay.

Just want to preface this by saying I didn't have the chance to stay here, due to the 23s only booking rule (although it is strange that this is a blanket rule, rather than for a more understandable large group). I don't have a problem with the rule itself, but the fact I was perfectly able to make a booking without any mention of said rule- it was buried in the fine print of the confirmation email, which I had missed, and only found having searched the FAQ on the website for something unrelated. Had I not noticed this and not rang ahead to clarify (as I had), and subsequently cancel, I suspect I would have arrived, been unable to stay but have to pay some sort of cancellation fee. When I did speak to someone at reception, she was helpful but seemed extremely disinterested

The D is in a great location, but the rooms need attention. For instance, there was an additional single bed in our room placed in such a way that it was impossible to close the curtains. The bedside lamps are placed so low as to be useless for reading. In this day and age, there is no excuse for using small, single-use containers for toiletries instead of large refillable containers.

This venue is an absolute joke ..we are hosting a 21st and their services were appalling. Upon booking with this hotel we had a list of things included within our package and didn’t receive any of them On the night. The events manager didn’t even bother to show up. The next morning when we went to collect the cake and the remaining decorations, they had thrown out the trays that we had bought for the cake and expected to carry the cake in our hands, no cling film or tin foil. So ridiculous, please do not host an event here. Unfortunately you cannot rate 0 stars so 1 will have to do.

Could recommend the D Hotel enough! Linda the Front Of House Manger is so lovely and so helpful always the best stay can’t wait to go back! They pull out all the stops for you thanks again, Michelle and Mark

Came here for Afternoon Tea with friends. Food was delicious and very reasonable. We then went to the bar for follow on drinks. Great atmosphere and loved the decor of the bar. The service we received in the restaurant and bar was really friendly however there were times when we asked for a menu/drink/bill that we did not receive them which was disappointing however we felt that was more that the staff were busy as opposed to them not being bothered by our request. While we were there we noticed that the staff were very accomodating to anyone that walked in. I would definitely recommend this place and will visit again.
