Had a mostly great meal here in terms of the food; but there was an issue with the quality of one dish. It was really poor to be honest - absolutely no effort put in, inauthentic and overpriced. Brought it up to a waitress who was accommodating, dealt with us well and even had a laugh with us. It’s worth noting that we’re not complaining types, we’ve all worked in service before so know how hard the job can be A senior member of the team then came over and effectively created and sustained an argument about the dish, which was completely unnecessary , souring the evening for us. Their attitude was aggressive and out of pocket, totally confrontational and sarcastic. A bit of a joke really Eventually we reached a lukewarm resolution and left, it was a strange experience overall Everything else was excellent and this is also a nice place in the area to go for a Guinness, so it’s not all bad by any means. But clearly an issue with approach to complaints, which should be addressed

A big thank you to all the staff at the village hotel for accommodating me and my family at such short notice after my father passed away. We called and explained our situation that we needed last minute accommodation and we were instantly taken care of. We ended up spending 5 nights in the hotel and I honestly couldn't fault it. It was comfortable, clean and welcoming. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, we also had breakfast every morning and dinner some evenings which was always excellent. We asked if they could cater after my dad's funeral and again we were taken care of. It's wonderful to see the Village hotel reopened as I have great memories growing up in Bettystown and nights in the Village hotel. Thank you for making a difficult time for us that bit easier and I look forward to dropping in again when I'm home.

Absolutely wonderful place went there last night with my daughters I don't get out very often due to ill health and was celebrating my 5th procedure in the past 5 weeks we start outside and even though the weather was not the best they went above and beyond to help and make us comfortable making sure they got the heaters going for us. The waiting staff were wonderful kind and friendly everyone was. I hadn't been to the village hotel in many years and they have it absolutely stunning. I do hope you continue with the wonderful kind all over great service outdoors and in. Many blessings Julie 🙌 x

The Village Hotel really is the premier event space in Co Meath. They are a great venue: clean, gorgeous, elegant and very workable for a lot of different kinds of events. Hotel staff is great to work with. They are helpful and have great ideas to make any event better. It was real pleasure to photograph in this outstanding venue. Highly recommended!!!

The food is unreal, 2nd only to excellent customer service. Sasha and Anicka are a credit to their employers. We had the steak sandwich and the Makhani Curry. We found our new favourite place.

I want to give a special big Thank you to Sammy from the reception. We arived with no booking, late at night with no other options on the table to spend a night and he went to the moon and back to give us a nice room, his service was impeccable. The hotel also, the bed was suuuper confy, bathroom had amenities and everything worked just fine. Free parking on the premises and also option for breakfast available. Everything was clean, nice as one would expect. Thank you again Sammy from the Romanian and Hungarian couple 😃

Went there 2 weeks ago and we had meal in restaurant. Overall it was fine but would say the following the Brie starter needs to be warmer and personally I prefer no skin on battered cod.

We had our wedding here last week. Cannot recommend this hotel enough. They were all so friendly and great to deal with on the lead up to the big day. The food was fabulous too. Every guest commented on how clean the hotel was and how friendly the staff were. Highly highly recommend this hotel.

Visited the restaurant in the Village Hotel on a Saturday afternoon. The hotel is a little tricky to find and not that well signposted. Lively, very busy and more popular now than ever. Eclectic mix of clients ranging from young ladies who lunch to family celebrations. Wide range of food on the menu, tasty and filling. Very good service. 2km from Bettystown beach and amusements. Recommend that you check it out for yourselves.

We didn’t stay a night here but we have regularly enjoyed the Bull & Tide restaurant. Food is always tasty and the staff are pleasant. I like the fact that when it’s busy they explain to you at the start of the night that service is taking longer than usual. Other places would say nothing and you would be left wondering.

Loved the food in the restaurant. Myself and my partner went in for dinner over the weekend and the staff were friendly and helpful. The food and drinks were fantastic and full of flavour. The decor of the restaurant bring a lovely ambiance to the room and the friendly staff provide a great atmosphere.

A gem on the outskirts of Drogheda and Bettystown. We were there for an extended family breakfast and could not have been taken better care of. The staff were exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. They were friendly, courteous, and professional throughout and I look forward to our return in the not too distant future.

security man was rude. apparently you're not allowed to go out and smoke after 12, they lock the doors. he was extremely smart with his comments as i was coming in from having a smoke, not knowing the doors get locked. the food was cold and tasteless. our room was very dusty and there was a hair on the toilet seat..not fully cleaned, and it was easy details too. our room had lots of wear and tear, the curtains were stained. wouldve loved if the place was more taken care of and if the staff were more welcoming .

We had a good lunch here, really friendly service and lovely atmosphere. We tried the pulled pork bap and bacon and cheese burger. Both dishes were quite good and arrived very promptly. Will definitely be back to try some of the other tasty dishes.

Wonderful welcome elegant boutique hotel. Fantastic food and service, the crispy duck to die for. Highly recommended. Nearly one year later. We had our 25th wedding anniversary. We had the most perfect day. The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff, the excellent cuisine, the gorgeous rooms. The hotel has a unique, intimate and relaxing atmosphere that all added to the enjoyment of our day! Thanks to all! Olga and Paul x

The wedding food was really good. There was no option to stay over as they are housing "temporary long term residents" who apparantly were offered another hotel with free transport in city but refused to vacate the hotel for one night to accommodate the wedding.

We went for my sister's birthday at 1pm today. Have to say the food was very disappointing. Perhaps it was because we were the only ones in the restaurant?? The chicken wings tasted like they were coated in sauce from a bottle!. I had sea trout which on its own was very nice, however it was served on a bed off, what tasted like frozen stir-fry veg & fried baby potatoes & they tasted like left overs from the night before!!.such a shame! Hotel it's self is beautiful with spotless toilet's. But we won't be rushing back for the food. The bill was €54 for 3 people (without drinks) Adee?(spelling??) our waitress was 5*

Really nice hotel. Very clean and situated in a really nice part of Bettystown, 2 min drive to the center of town and the beach/golf course. Staff were very friendly and service was excellent. I would recommend this to anyone looking to get out of the city for a weekend. Restaurant and pub is also really nice and modern.

Excellent experience! We decided to stay here after going to Newgrange, and were not disappointed. The room is clean and the view of the garden is beautiful and tranquil. The restaurant is spectacular. The duck in particular was exquisite. An explosion of taste and texture, and the quantity was extremely impressive. We were both stuffed but made room for dessert. The orange and chocolate mouse was to die for. We are both extremely happy and full and ready to head upstairs for a relaxing night of Christmas movies. Thank you to the Bull and Tide restaurant and the Village Hotel!

The staff here are Fantastic. Buzzing around taking care of things and being friendly at the same time. We had a good laugh while ordering the food. Drinks were excellent and the food is understated on the menu but full of flavour on the plate! You will be surprised!

We had a party of 8 guests, 2 adults & 6 children. Everything was fantastic. Really big double bed & single bed in each room. Our evening meal was beautiful especially the kids menu & so reasonably priced. The breakfast was amazing & the presentation of the kids breakfast too. The staff were so accommodating to our needs so friendly couldn't do enough for us. Our stay was so reasonably priced too. Can't wait to stay again.

Been in the Village Hotel 2 times in the last 3 weeks. Food cold both times service not good slow. All the staff would need to be retrained and kitchen staff need to serve food hot. We will not be coming back here.

Absolutely blown away by our experience here. We booked a last minute stay the day before and found ourselves in a clean, updated and well appointed room. We decided to have dinner and breakfast at the hotel and decided it was one of our favorite meals after two weeks in Ireland. In addition to the great food our waitress for breakfast Maria was top notch. I literally wanted to take her with us due to her level of service!!! What a gem she and the hotel are.

Just back from an eleven person family meal and from start to finish I could not fault the place. Staff are so friendly and attentive. Food was fab, great selection to suit everyone from the fussy 4 year old to the traditional Sunday roast eaters. Will definitely be back

The breakfast was very poor. Three people ordered tea, got a small pot barely big enough to fill three tiny cups. Asked for a refill and got an even smaller pot sized for one person and was charged for it. Do not order pancakes, got three very small and flat. Lettuce that was used to dress the avocado toast plate was wilted. Won’t be back.

My wife and I stayed here for 1 night on Sat 1st October – based on our stay/experience – the highlights are: POSITIVES: Check-in and Check-out – no issues – very good. The room we had was very spacious – decorated in the current Boutique Hotel style. Ensuite was quite spacious too. There were ample plug sockets available – and in all the right locations too. Our booking was for Room Only – but, on check-in, we opted to add the breakfast rate to our booking. Breakfast itself – the quality of the food was very, very good – the one main downside both of us felt, was that the food was not very hot. (A slight weird/observation – but certainly not a major issue) There were 2 comfortable arm chairs in the room (by the window), but no table. Yes, there was a ‘desk’ in the room, which had its own chair – but it was just weird to see 2 armchairs and no table. Ample free parking available. Also, free wi-fi available. MAJOR POSITIVE: The staff – every single member of staff we met was extremely polite, friendly, helpful. NEGATIVES: There was no shelf in the ensuite to place toiletries. The only TV channels available were the Saorview/Irish Channels – in 2022, that really is quite poor. The hotel wanted to charge my card before I had even arrived (for check-in). I know some people may not have an issue with this – but I do. Minor, minor, negatives: The area under the handrail in the bath/shower was badly discoloured from rust. The TV was a tad on the small side, especially given the size of the wall it was on. There were quite a few weeds on the footpath to the right of the hotel (at the front) OVERALL: I would highly, highly recommend this hotel – very relaxing, good food, great staff and it is extremely good value for money.

We had a table booked for 8:15 and the poor staff were run off their feet. We arrived early to have a drink at the bar, they couldn't get us seated for our meal until 8:45. The blonde girl in charge and the lad waiter couldn't apologise enough and gave us complementary drinks. Which was good as I'm fairly relaxed on these things but the GF was getting a bit Hangry 😁. I had the pasta which was piping hot and delicious and the GF had Makhani Chicken (basically butter chicken) and she said it was good. Chicken wing starter shared was also really nice. Blonde maitradee and lad waiter were awesome. And the head bar man makes a mean Old Fashioned.

Myself and my husband Robert had our Wedding day here on the 6th of August 2022, we would like to thank all the staff especially Leighanne and Shauna for being so helpful and attentive by making our day so memorable from the beginning to end. We had our ceremony in the garden and the staff had it looking amazing. We then had beautiful photos taken at the beach which is near the hotel. The food was absolutely gorgeous and all of our guests had nothing but good things to say. They even provided fantastic vegetarian options for our 6 guests (vegetarian) We want to thank the head chef and his team for the wonderful food. Everything that was included in the package was amazing. We would also like to thank Pause Time photography, Custom Cakes, The Bees Knees band and Southgate florist. We also want to thank all staff members in the hotel especially Grainne, Maria, Amelia, Sasha and so many more. We don’t know all of your names, but you are all fantastic staff. We are truly thankful to every one of you guys in the Village Hotel for everything you have done to make our wedding so special. Our family and friends haven’t stopped talking about it. We couldn’t recommend this hotel enough especially for a wedding. We’ll definitely be back to stay and for food. Darina & Robert

Ordered takeaway lunch here for the first time after seeing amazing reviews about the restaurant and from other people. I had high hopes that the food would be really good. Unfortunately it wasn’t the case for me today. I ordered lunch for myself, partner and two kids. all 3 portions of chips were very undercooked I had to put them in the air fryer for 15 minutes which I wasn’t happy about. The chicken in the curry was very over done and so tough to eat it was inedible. and if we knew the “naan bread “ that comes with the meal was only a very small Pitta bread we would of ordered a separate naan. veggie burger was nice. once the chips were fully cooked they were very nice. just disappointed to come home with two very hungry kids after school and have to finish off cooking there food that I ordered so I could just feed them straight away. hopefully next time if we order again food will be better.

Warm and welcoming atmosphere. Lovely modern decor. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing meal. I would recommend you try the beef burger and the chocolate brownie.

Looks nice. Grand for drinks. Good isn't great. But grand something to pick at while having drinks. Function room is good. But if you have food lined up the staff will line up and eat it on ya as well during your function.
