Good food. Staff are really nice except for one guy who says dogs are not allowed when it clearly states on their website that dogs are allowed and we also rang up and checked and we were told it was OK once the dog was on a leash and we had a room booked. This guy was also very rude to his staff in front of everyone who were guests at the hotel. Everyone else was absolutely amazing and very attentive and they would be given a 5 star rating. Overall we really enjoyed our experience there.

Attended a wedding here and was well impressed with everything about the place so much so I wished it was my day. Food was scrumptious and service was top notch. Surroundings were beautiful even though the weather wasn't great . I would love to come back again in summer time to see it in all its glory. Would highly recommend to any one for their special day.

I was here for my wife's friend's wedding and this venue is absolutely beautiful. Couldn't fault the staff and meal... one of the best fillet steak I've ever had!

The wife and I treated ourselves to a quiet weekend for our 20th anniversary 💕. This establishment is one of a kind, great rooms and service, and easy to get there. Sublime vistas outside. We never left to go around surrounding areas, Tankardstown house has it all. We really enjoyed the afternoon tea experience and also the rest of the offerings.

Beautiful venue , was at a wedding here recently . Food was excellent , service to match. The lodge accommodation, while stunning inside , is a bit away from the main house and only accessible by a car that can pick you up 24hrs , however given it was a busy day we were left waiting about 30 minutes for someone to pick us up to bring us over to the reception, and couldn't get hold of anyone at reception. I would have attempted to walk it but the weather was dire. Just to keep note when booking your rooms as there are accommodations closer to the main house. Aside from that slight hiccup everything else went off without a hitch.

We got married here in June. While our day was fabulous and the staff couldn't do enough for us there was a few operational issues which hampered our day. I won't go into too much detail but they were silly standard wedding details such as table plans not being followed (Grooms mother was stuck in the far corner of the room) a shuttle bus not being organised when we were under the impression it was. The venue itself was lovely - main house was well kept and everyone was impressed by the bridal and library suites. Big issue for our guests were the barn rooms. They are small, nicely decorated however there is 2 large exit signs in every room that can't be turned off. My guests found it very hard to sleep there. They also mentioned that they could hear every thing from guests above their rooms. Really not worth 200 a night by any account. If you are getting married here I recommend insisting on the guests staying in the Lodge which is very spacious and luxurious. Alternatively, many of my guests stayed in the Conyngham Arms and loved it.

Loved it Had the privilege of attending a wedding at this venue, from start to finished it was beautifull, cant fault it in anyway. I watched in admiration, a spectacle of professionalism at it's best through out the day and later into evening. The staff did know there job and did it well. This comes highly recommend and for those who are looking to marry check out this place at least before you settled on a venue you will be doind yourself a favour.

Food good. Fires could have been lit with more conviction.Junior waitresses (Who served desserts !)could do with some training. But overall didn't spoil well provided and cooked meal.

Attended wedding recently!! From we walked into the foyer to the smell of burning logs and the grand decor, we were treated like royalty from every member of staff. Throughout the day we enjoyed a variety of canapés and Prosecco no request was too small. The meal was outstanding and the bar staff couldn’t have done enough for us especially when we asked for a variety of cocktails not on the menu. The manager Fran couldn’t have done enough for us really attentive throughout the day and the next morning. Thank you to all staff a great time was had by all.

The food was unbelievably good, we didn’t really know what to expect but it was excellent!! Service was very good in the restaurant, only issue was music from a wedding band and the noise of the after party, though it didn’t bother us too much as we were so far away it

Attended a wedding here. Aside from it being an amazingly beautiful venue with room for plenty to be able to stay comfortably, the staff is amazing! Genuinely the highest levels of professionalism. I arrived with a walker and someone quickly greeted me to guide me to a more accessible entrance and helped me get seated with my mobility device near by. Then, at dinner, I was truly wowed! I’ve an intolerance to dairy that makes dining out difficult. (Dairy is in everything!) I’ve ended up in tears before because I’ve been made to feel like I was a problem due to my intolerance. So I was nervous coming to the wedding - brought food with us, assuming I’d not be able to eat much on the menu as has been the case in most places we’ve been to. When the first course of a lovely smelling butternut squash soup was served, I asked one question to the server of if there was cream in the soup. Without skipping a beat, she replied “yes”, no “I need to check with the chef” - she knew exactly what was in the food she was serving. She quickly took it away and minutes later, a delicious raspberry sorbet was sat in front of me for my appetizer. It was amazing. From then on, I was served with everyone else but always with a “Dairy free” verbal confirmation so it was always clear what was safe for me to eat. I’ve never been treated so well in a restaurant! The level of professionalism was amazing. The level of concern for their guests was beyond imagining. And the cottage rooms were gorgeous, as were the rooms in the house. All was stunning and like living in a dream. And the amazing staff made it all that much more perfect.

I can't say enough about this super wedding venue. The staff are excellent, looking after everyone and everything. The food was great, and the atmosphere was electric with elegant surroundings. The interiors were 1st class, and the gardens were beautiful. I would highly recommend this wedding venue to any future bride and groom looking for a special wedding venue.

Went to a wedding, wonderful venue for that with magnificent catering whether the brilliant cook to order breakfast or the Wedding Breakfast. Altogether a truly magical location for a large romantic wedding Such a glorious grounds and wonderful friendly - well it’s in Ireland! - staff. Cannot praise staff too highly. Tip: if travelling by taxi from Dublin Airport ask Reception to book a local Taxi to collect and return you. Much more cost effective to have a local driver knowledgable about best route according to weather, traffic etc. Sadly our room in the Barn let the venue down badly. Not enough space to store even small carry on cases and nowhere in the bathroom to put toothpaste, brushes, and other items needed to shower and so on. Shower excellent, let down badly by an exceedingly slippery shower tray and a floor lethally slippery if at all wet. Bed excellent let down by a very thick heavy mid Winter duvet when room 23C. Personally I think hotels should either stick to blankets or offer choices of duvet tog ratings. Our Room Maid kindly sought out a lighter weight duvet but needed to ask her supervisor to get it.

Beautiful grounds and setting for the wedding we attended. Rooms are a bit small but ample for an overnight stay. Some staff could have been a bit more friendly but for the most part they were fine, service was also very good.

I have just attended a family wedding at Tankardstown, held over two days. It was my first time here and was a wonderful experience. The setting, rooms, food and service were first class. In particular I would like to acknowledge Fran who was working until late on the wedding day and was back in the dining room early the following morning for breakfast. His work ethic is amazing, and I sincerely hope he is recognised for his important contribution towards customer service and the overall smooth running of theTankardstown venue.

I had high expectations and was very excited to attend a wedding at Tankardstown House. However, I was left deeply disappointed and frustrated with the service provided by Tankardstown House. The most concerning and distressing of these issues is the loss of guests' personal property during the wedding reception - which was left behind at reception for pick-up, or in their room! We had expected a seamless and memorable occasion, and it is deeply troubling to learn that such a breach of trust occurred within the confines of your venue, such as the mishandling of personal belongings has left a lasting negative impression on everyone in attendance. Since bringing this to the staff's attention, they have failed to conduct a thorough investigation, provide a formal explanation, or offer compensation and reassurance that this will not happen again.

We had a fab time attending a friend's wedding. Great food, service and location. The rock-hard bed (Room1 Barn) and guy cutting the lawn at 8 am really let the place down!

20/10/23 Such a wonderful day! My wife and I recently celebrated our wedding in Tankardstown House. From the very outset, Tankardstown were a joy to deal with. They helped make our day so special. Nothing we asked was ever an issue and always tried to accommodate where necessary. A special mention must go to Aine our wedding coordinator and Fran who was in complete control for the entire day looking after ourselves and all of our guests. And to top things off, Fran was back in to greet us for breakfast. People are still complimenting the superb food we received on the day. We couldn’t have asked for better. We would recommend this venue to anyone.

Booked a tasting menu meal for 4 people, 2 very good friends who were visiting myself and my husband for the weekend on the August and we were really looking forward to it. Lovely restaurant, however we were booked for 8.30 in the evening and it was quite a cool night. The waiters were consistently going outdoors serving drinks to people on the patio, and every time they left the patio doors open and we were in an almighty draught. My friend made a point of getting up and closing the door each time and this made no difference, they consistently left the door open. This really impacted on our meal and the enjoyment of what should have been a special night on a special celebration. Also as there were 7 courses, the waiter was giving us no time between courses at all, the plates were whisked away as soon as the last morsel was eaten, which didn't take very long, as the tasting menu consists of really small selections. So overall what should have been a very special night turned into a quite disappointing night.a lovely restaurant, and our meal could have been very much more enjoyable but for the above-mentioned

Tankardstown House is an amazing wedding venue. The main House and ceremony room are simply stunning. The grounds and surrounding areas are breathtaking. Janette Spiritual Ceremonies

I went here for lunch with family. I ordered the hake for main course and it was very small. I got 4 tiny potato wedges with it and a small portion of vegetables. I was hungry after this. The late I ordered for afterwards seemed to have very little coffee in it. Overall I was very disappointed. Couldn't wait to get home to eat.

Very bad experience for a supposedly 5 star accommodation. The wedding was fine apart from the very uncomfortable chairs which I cannot justify for a five star hotel experience. We stayed at the ''barn'' rooms, paid 210 euros for one night and the experience was very bad. There was a smell in the room, the emergency exits were very bright and also the curtains weren't blackout meaning that we woke up very early because of the sun. The room view was a fence in the process of being built and the workers left all theirs tools in front of our patio door. They also started working right outside our patio door at around 10:00am. The worst part was the noise from the room upstairs. We knew the people staying above us and they assured us they went straight to bed after the wedding, however we could hear every step they took in the room and also the chandelier in our room was moving everytime there was movement upstairs. Maybe the actual rooms in the house worth 210, however the barn rooms were worse than a 3star hotel. Please stop charging your customers mad money for these disgraceful rooms.

Just brilliant! We use this place a lot for stays, events or meals out. It's a fabulous house and decor. Staff are all excellent, a lovely mix of professional, nothings a problem and relaxed. The new tasting menus are great value and delicious! Highly recommended

Attended a family wedding on Dec 20,2021. Beautiful venue, lots of open fires, friendly and helpful staff, excellent morning after breakfast but small touches were missing. Lack of heating in both bedrooms, only 1 average pillow per person and only 2 hangers provided in each wardrobe. These little things cost it a star.

We were here yesterday for my nephews wedding. This is an exceptionally well managed venue. The food was excellent and the service from the young waiting staff was faultless. The house itself is spectacular.

We stayed at the lovely Tankardstown courtyard cottage suite and dined at the Brabazon restaurant. We had the 10 course tasting menu and it was out of this world! Such an amazing evening and fantastic service from our waiter Jacob. Highly recommend staying here. :)

This is an ideal spot for a wedding. The good weather helped of course. The rooms in the hotel are fabulous but we stayed in the cottage. Very quaint.

Went for a wedding and wasnt stayin. We walked in to the hotel and were greeted by the fabulous smell of burning logs. If you could bottle the smell you would make a fortune.Divine. The reception rooms were small plentiful and mesmerising ,like something out of Escape to the Chateau. The food for the wedding was delicious but limited.however it was the entree's on arrival and late evening menu that really impressed. The basics with a truly amazing twist. The staff were very welcoming and smiling for most part. Would highly reccomend this hotel for Weddings Well run and Well Done.

Wonderful romantic destination wedding venue. The entire complex was beautiful and well groomed. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The wedding dinner was a true gourmet delight. The following morning breakfast was delicious with many choices.

We instantly fell in love with Tankardstown House for our wedding in November 2022. The whole team we’re incredible during the lead up to the day, namely Sarah, Fran, Adam and Sarah-Jane who all helped ensure our wedding day was perfect and went without a glitch. We’ve heard so many people say it was the best venue they’ve been to and they most certainly didn’t disappoint with the incredible and generous food portions, stunning grounds, orangey and luxury rooms. Couldn’t recommend them enough and thank you for making our day so special!

Treated ourselves to a night at Tankardstown House to include tasting menu in the restaurant. The house looks impressive from the outside. The person at reception handed us the room key but couldn't tell us whether the room in the Barn was upstairs or downstairs. Found the room easily but were taken aback initially by the strong smell of disinfectant. There were no clothes hangers in the wardrobe. Called reception and asked for them. They never came. Absolutely nowhere to put anything in the bathroom. Everything was on the floor, cistern or sink. Towels were on the bed. No towel rails in the bathroom. Headed down to the restaurant to spend the first 10 minutes discussing with the waiter that we had booked the tasting menu and not the menu he wanted to give us. Only when we showed him the reservation confirmation, did he begin to believe us. Food and wine were good. We were awoken in the night however by the sound of a very busy mouse. Left first thing in the morning as the mouse was darting around the room. Explained the situation to the receptionist who immediately said no payment necessary and asked how we enjoyed our meal. She called my husband later to make sure there was no misunderstanding, that the room (only) would be deducted from the bill. She said she didn't realize we had been to the restaurant!! All in all, a very disappointing stay.

Had the pleasure of staying three nights at Tankardstown House last week for my Son’s wedding. The venue, staff and food were excellent. Katie the wedding Coordinator was there on arrival to assist the wedding party with any questions we had and Jordon was on hand to carry luggage for anyone needing assistance. Fran the banqueting manager went above and beyond for everyone. I can’t thank him enough for his patience with everyone. The housekeeping staff were excellent all rooms were spotless and staff were so pleasant at all times. Only fault I found was no water in main toilets on arrival which was rectified by the following day and lack of bar service in the early part of the day for soft drinks. Looking forward to a short stay again when available.

We loved being the wedding photographers for Orla and Ryans wedding at Tankardstown House. Its an incredible wedding venue. Its main reception room is a photographers dream. The skylight overhead floods the room with natural light. The grounds are immaculate and the food is out of this world - and we've eaten at a lot of wedding venues over the years. We'd be delighted to photograph another wedding at this outstanding wedding venue! ig: @honeyandthemoonphotography
