We
had
a
lovely
and
very
relaxing
time
here
at
Decoy
in
Autumn
2021.
The
copybook
of
helpful
tips
on
attractions
in
the
area
(thoughtfully
written
by
other
guests)
was
a
really
nice
touch,
as
was
the
welcome
basket.
The
thoughtful
addition
of
hot
chocolate
sachets
was
a
great
touch
too,
for
kids
especially.
The
cottage
complex
is
a
converted
stable
mews
and
has
been
very
sympathetically
restored.
The
courtyard
landscaping,
outdoor
areas
and
our
cottage
were
all
very
aesthetically
pleasing.
It
was
really
good
that
cars
were
not
allowed
into
the
courtyard
area
except
for
loading
and
unloading.
This
made
the
area
quieter
(there's
crunchy
gravel
in
the
courtyard),
and
safer
for
kids.
It
was
great
to
see
a
trampoline,
basketball
hoop
and
small
playground
for
children,
as
well
as
the
comfortable
den
area
with
table
football
etc.
There
was
even
a
gym
area
for
adults,
although
we
did
not
use
this,
and
it
looked
very
good.
It
was
lovely
to
have
a
stove
for
the
cosy
autumn
evenings
we
spent
at
Decoy,
with
a
great
stock
of
wood.
Perhaps
a
little
kindling
could
also
have
been
provided,
as
the
fire
refused
to
light
on
our
second
evening.
One
other
area
where
I
could
suggest
improvement
is
to
provide
curtains
upstairs
for
all
bedrooms.
The
blinds
in
the
bedroom
in
our
cottage
where
our
child
was
sleeping
did
not
fully
block
out
the
morning
light,
but
the
thick,
full
curtains
in
the
other
room
worked
really
well.
The
TV
in
our
cottage
did
not
work
(for
its
primary
function
as
television),
perhaps
due
to
poor
signal,
as
the
picture
was
blurry
and
intermittent.
We
used
the
TV
with
the
DVD
player
instead,
which
worked
in
the
end,
but
was
rather
ancient
and
slow
to
respond.
I
would
also
suggest
that
the
instructions
about
the
bins/recycling
could
perhaps
be
given
via
with
a
note
clearly
visible
on
the
table
at
the
start
of
the
stay
(or
maybe
on
the
bin
cupboard),
rather
than
by
email
during
the
stay,
as
not
everyone
checks
email
when
on
holiday.
The
same
applies
to
the
email
request
to
let
the
owners
know
if
anything
needs
to
be
fixed
or
batteries
that
need
to
be
replaced:
it
would
be
good
to
have
this
on
a
separate
note
on
the
table
upon
arrival.
But
these
are
minor
quibbles,
and
just
suggestions
for
further
improvement
to
what
is
a
great
place
to
stay.
For
a
two
night
stay
it
can
seem
quite
pricey,
particular
for
bank
holiday
weekends.
But
we
had
a
wonderful
time
and
would
go
back,
perhaps
at
a
less
expensive
time
of
year!
Loads
to
do
in
the
area,
and
this
cottage
complex
is
great,
and
potentially
even
more
fabulous
with
a
few
tweaks!
