Great place with great timber but when regulars are "allowed" to skip the queue it's not good. I'm in line to pay for for my €66 birch ply and a guy is let through to put a €5 item on his account before me I am not happy. They let 2 guys through the "exit" door to do this while I was there in line.

Very helpful and well-informed staff. They give great advice. Well stocked warehouse for tools and materials. Always busy, although store is located on a quiet rural road just outside Castlebellingham. Highly recommended.

Terrible customer experience. I ordered a saw online. Got the order confirmation and waited patiently for 2 weeks. I had no update and queried it. I was told, abruptly, that I was sent an email that saying the product was out of stock and I should check my junk mail. They did not offer to let me know if it was coming back or provide any customer experience. I did not receive the email and when I clarified that, along with my dissatisfaction at being given an order confirmation when the stock wasn't there, I was sent the email that I was supposed to receive. Again, abrupt without any customer service. The original email did not have me on copy. No offer to let me know if the saw was due back in and no apology for allowing me to buy a product that was out of stock in their inventory. Just given an excuse - an error in sending. "Apologies for that". That's all, folks.

Hoey's DIY value and selection puts them ahead of Wogan's and Eddie's Hardware in my estimation. But customer service standards have dropped off fairly badly in recent times. The guy in the shop who served us was fast and efficient. It went downhill from there. My brother and I were trying to get a staff members attention in the yard for about 20 minutes. It was not busy. Then we were left to load our timber into the trailer ourselves.

My go-to place for all my my building supplies and timber supplies needs, great value, excellent service. Josh Cutis and the team at Hoeys DIY are always prepared and willing to help. They are also very knowledgeable about their products. I would highly recommend. Well done, team Hoeys DIY. 👏

Amazing range and great service provided

Was there today around 3pm when I was looking for materials, when I was approached by a very rude and very angry guy that said to me did I not read the sign on the way in, if you don’t want customers to go into the yard why is there not a barrier?? Like fearons on the Newry Road, I am regularly visit this place and know Stephen very well, I won’t be returning, and will tell others. Dennis kerr
