Cute little mom and pop inn. Price was very reasonable and came with a simple breakfast. The staff were all more than accommodating and very friendly. Not a swanky 5 star resort, but the bed was comfortable, the place was absolutely SPOTLESS, and had nice amenities like shampoo, body wash, coffee, microwave, and large refrigerator. Exactly what I needed after being on the road and just looking for somewhere to rest my head for the night, but wish I could've stayed longer! Will definitely be back if I find myself out this way again

When entering the room there was a cute postcard inviting us to enjoy our stay and to reach out for anything we might need. The lady at the front desk was very kind and helpful, we weren’t able to enjoy a meal at the cafe due to the pandemic, but the room was quite, cozy and very clean. We will return to this well kept Inn when heading north to Ohio again!! Thanks for a pleasant stay

We were so blessed to find this little gem of a place! Super clean and comfortable. Staff was very hospitable and cheerful. Nice to get away from the corporate and commercial type environment. Only about 10 minutes away from the Ark Adventure. Peaceful and quiet. More than reasonable rate (they could charge more). Older property, but well maintained and as I said CLEAN. We have stayed in $200+ a night hotels that weren’t this clean. Highly recommend this sweet place and would stay again.

We went stayed here for 7 days during our homeschool conference at the Ark Encounter (15 mins away) and the Creation Museum (45 mins away). Our room was clean when we arrived, especially the floors. It's so clean that we took off our shoes off every time we got inside. The only thing I had to comment on was that we found a small pill on the floor and thankfully my 1 year old didn't get a chance to see it first and eat it because who knows what's in that pill. Unfortunately the cafe was closed during our stay so we didn't get a chance to try their food but they have great continental breakfast and friendly staff.

My husband and I stayed here while we visited the Ark Encounter for my birthday. It's definitely a little gem of a place! It's older, but it's clean, quiet and has everything you need! The personalized card was such a nice touch. We will definitely stay here again if we're ever in the area. 🙂 It's hard to find cute little places like this, I'd recommend anyone to stay here.

This place was down right awful. The bed... I'm more than sure was just a box spring! The bed was also pushed against the wall heater which is a fire hazard! The room was uncomfortably cold. There was hair in the tub and wasn't clean. Not to mention when we turned the tub water on the shower sprayed too! Can't take a bath without a shower and can't take a shower without a bath! Can't sleep because the walls are paper thin and you can hear the person 2 rooms away and their tv. They used a bath towel as a welcome mat. And the refrigerator sounded like a freight train. We booked this because of Google reviews... I don't know what kind of people leave 5 star reviews for this place, probably the creepy man that kept watching us.... not family friendly, not couple friendly, not humanly friendly. Do yourself a favor and just don't do it... find a lovely holiday Inn. We stayed 30 minutes and found one ourselves. Sleep well tonight knowing that you're not staying at Kentucky's own Bates Motel!

Updated review based on the owner’s response - I was tactful, honest, and kind in my initial review but you’ve opened the door for brutal honesty. This roadside motel is a dump! I was happy to support a ‘mom and pop’ small business owner. You and your establishment have disappointed me. The area surrounding the hotel is straight out of the movie “Deliverance”. The rooms were very small (smaller than your cell phone photos make them appear). Pets were reported when booking the rooms through Travelocity. The only green space to relieve pets include the strip of grass along the highway at the front of the hotel and the small grassy area near the dumpsters on the other side of the hotel. Floors were not clean. An individual can barely turn around in the bathroom. . . Even for a person on the smaller side. Tub/Shower needed to be scrubbed. When opening the hotel room door, an old musty smell with cigarette smoke greeted me. If there was dog urine, it was from a prior guest. I revisited the hotel clerk to ask for different rooms and was told that the hotel was booked solid. Upon check-in, I noticed the continental breakfast items - spotted bananas, loaf of bread, a few cereal boxes. As another reviewer stated . . . I’m scratching my head wondering how there can be so many positive reviews for this place. Are you incentivizing people for positive reviews? When I checked out early (12:30 by the way, and only leaving my small house-trained lapdogs for the morning hours - your records are inaccurate if you are suggesting a “much later check-out time”), I nicely reported the issue of the odor. I kindly told the man that I would not return for another stay at this establishment. Again, the staff that I dealt with were friendly. The staff, excluding you, is the only positive about this place. As for your ‘victim’ comment - Anyone who stays at The North Star Inn expecting a clean and relaxing stay falls ‘victim’ to the very opposite. An Bates Hotel-ish experience as another reviewer posted. I will not entertain banter from you after this updated post. I can see that you are argumentative and slant stories in your favor. Initial Review - Friendly staff upon check-in. Location is close to the Ark Encounter. Beds were comfortable. TV at odd placement in room. Booked two pet-friendly rooms (206 & 207) for two nights. Both rooms had an odor but room 206 had an odd odor with cigarette smoke odor on top of the other odor. Limited space to relieve pets. Blind-spot as you exit ground floor parking lot to front of establishment in order to gain access to road - be cautious. Driving up the hill and over the rise, one could easily end up in the ditch. Checked out a day early due to room condition. Hotel staff offered room treatment for odor but no refund for not staying second night due to exiting rooms past checkout time (12:30 PM). Consider staying in Georgetown, KY — would be a better option if you are just going up to visit the Ark Encounter. A little more of a drive, but worth it — more restaurant and hotel options. The North Star Cafe is closed. Continental breakfast was an option. The bottled waters, granola bars, and thank you card was a nice sentiment.

The people who run this are very friendly and helpful. We felt like family. Rooms were rustic but comfortable. They even left a thank you card and goodies. Will stay there again when in area

Older motel. It's like staying over at a friend's grandmas place. Absolutely clean. Beds were comfortable, but if you expect memory foam, this doesn't have it, which for us Gen Xers we didn't care. This place is old school and we loved it. Love the fact it didn't have any carpet. Staff is friendly and helpful. We went everywhere from Louisville to Lexington while we stayed here. We didn't mind the drive at all. Right off I-75. We would definitely stay again.

What a comfortable atmosphere! Very quiet motel. It smelled clean when I opened the door. The staff was so helpful and kind. My dog was only $10 more, and they have pet friendly rooms. They personalized my room with a thank you card, snacks and bottled water on the counter. What a blessing!

Very nice motel. We stayed two nights while visiting the Ark Encounter. I'm certainly glad I found this motel as the rates were cheaper than the chain motels and we like supporting local while traveling. The room was clean and very comfortable. If staying on the front the road may be noisy but we live near train tracks at home and are use to noise. The personalized card with goodies was a nice touch and the staff is super nice and accommodating. Definitely a great place to stay and will stay here again. Also, head north and eat at Kellie's Homestead restaurant!

I liked the quiet location. It was definitely nice to not have to worry about constant noise all night long. The Cafe is closed sadly so we did have to travel a bit in order to get food. The one downside to this hotel is definitely the beds. Kinda hoped for a nice comfortable bed to lay in but was greeted with what I believe could have been a piece of plywood with how hard it was. I assume it's just from the age of the mattress but all in all I would recommend this hotel to others just if you stay then bring a mattress topper(we bought a 1.5 inch and it made a world of difference).

From the moment I saw the ad online, I knew that this hotel was going to be safe and clean. When I arrived late at night on a Friday, it was even more than I expected. The owners had written me a lovely note addressed to me! It really means something when people take the time to hand write a note and write my wife and my names on a card correctly. This hotel is full of love.

Great hotel. Jacuzzi tub actually filled all the way up with hot water. Check in was great and they even had a personal welcome card in our room. We did reserve ahead of time. Will definitely stay again

Reasonably priced and very cozy. Clean and comfortable and they except dogs. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. The cafe was closed for lunch and dinner, but the free breakfast was pretty good, serving coffee, muffins, bagels etc. If you want good food for lunch or dinner, just walk up to the gas station on the West side of the motel. We had a pizza on Super Bowl Sunday and it was fantastic.

Extremely clean, easy to find location. Staff and owners are very friendly and genuine. Rooms are simple and minimalistic and charming, they have everything you would need. Free breakfast has a little bit of everything for everyone. I would recommend this to my friends and family and I would stay here again!

Customer service was perfection! We were so grateful to find a cat friendly motel at the last minute and the bonus was a jacuzzi tub room for far less than we've paid for elsewhere! Such an amazing place to stay while visiting the Ark Encounter! Very friendly staff!

Okay place. Quiet at night. Water was only luke warm for the hot tub. But it was after 10:00 pm when we used it. So, with the place being full, that was a lot of showers. My only complaint was the bed was hard as stone, oh and the pillows were flat. I would definitely stay here again, if they order better mattresses. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Wife and I stayed here two nights. Great place to stay if you're visiting the Ark Encounter! Ten mins from the Ark and 15-20 mins from any stores you might need. Excellent customer service and very reasonably priced rooms, along with great continental breakfast with boiled eggs, bagels/toast, cereal, oatmeal and grits. This is an older place but don't let that throw you off! Rooms have been updated and modernized, and are clean and relaxing and in a small, quiet town. Convenient, right off the exit from I-75.

Highly recommend staying here if you are visiting the arc encounter. If you just need a nice clean place to lay your head, then you should stay here. Some things are a little dated but for the price you just can't beat it. And supporting local family business instead of big corporate hotels. The coffee was way better here than at the arc encounter too, breakfast was just good. Had what you needed to get your day started. We had little ones so it was nice that the breakfast area was accommodating and in the room we could move the bed closer to the wall and fit our pack n play in there. It was nice having a code to get into the room. Ours was kinda long but we remembered it. It would be cool if the system could let the guest choose their own code so it's easier to remember. We wrote Ours on our hand just in case. We drove to Williamstown to go to parks for our toddler and eat food.

My wife and I from ohio stayed during our trip to the Arc Encounter. The rooms were very clean, reasonably priced and the staff was very nice. We were surprised to find a welcoming card , 2 breakfast bars and 2 bottles of water what a great touch. We will definitely stay again if in the area.

Came up from TN for my grand-daughter's softball tournament, and there was alot of things going on in Lexington so all the rooms were booked. I came across this place when I was trying to find something. It is a cute place. The room was nice and clean, there was a thank you card, bottled water and granola bar left from the owner. I will definitely stay here again.

Great little place, it's old but Clean! Very convenient location right off I-75 and we never heard the hwy. The staff is friendly and very accommodating. We were looking for a place that would accept our small dog and not charge a huge fee. The rates are very reasonable, they offer a nice breakfast and check out wasn't till noon so while we needed to get on the road, we didn't feel rushed to get out. Definitely will keep this place in mind for our next trip and recommend to friends & family. Thanks North Star ⭐ BTW you almost lost the barn wood star in our room lol I love it! You should make some up in different sizes and sell them in the cafe ⭐

We had a fantastic stay at the North Star Inn. We were looking for a place affordable and close to the Ark Encounter. The service was excellent. The rooms were clean and had basic amenities provided. The air conditioning was most welcome. The staff called to check our arrival time and gave self check-in instructions for after hours. It was very convenient. I highly recommend this motel.

Found this place in Corinth KY. Excellent customer service I loved that my bed was very comfortable and the refrigerator was great separate compartment for my freezer packs. Very quiet enjoyed my night very much. There's a truck stop just down the road with wonderful food . Charley was very comfortable too

This is a family run business. The rooms were clean and quiet. The rate was really good. The owners have a great sense of humor and made us feel special by having our room ready complete with a handwritten note and a couple of breakfast bars. When we are in the area again we will definitely stay here.Sweet and simple.

Great place to stay when visiting the ark. Reasonably priced, quiet. TV position in the room was odd and viewing was difficult. Heat and air conditioning was outdated in room 205. Amanda was very friendly and accommodating. Free breakfast was adequate.
