Worth the effort to climb there. You can take three routes: 1. Ferata (basically a climb around 400m long), 2. Hard route (shorter), and 3. Easy route (the longest but not by much). We took the easy route with kids but still you have to climb all the 300 meters above the sea level. The length was 1,2 km and took us around 50 minutes. The views of Omiš from the fortress were great and we enjoyed our short stay there very much. Because of the high temperatures in the summer, it is recommended to do the hike early in the morning. The site opens at 7 am. The entrence fee is 25 HRK, no discount for kids. If you need, you can buy 0,5 bottle of water for 20 HRK there. If this review helped you, please be sure to give it a like.

A very nice fortress to visit. Go up there with a certified guide and you'll find it easier. The view is spectacular.

Old ruined castle. Way is complicated and not for older people. View from the castle is unreal. Whole town and neighbour islands are like on plate...

I recently visited the old fortress above Omiš, and words can't do it justice - it's truly a must-see for anyone able to walk or climb there. The atmosphere and views from the top of the rocky mountain are simply stunning. It's wonderful that such a historical site remains accessible to the public. The newly refurbished main tower, reachable by steep stairs, is an amazing spot for capturing panoramic views and taking fantastic photos. To reach the fortress, you have two options: either take the exhilarating via ferrata Omiš route or opt for a walk from the other side, starting from the town of Omiš itself. Don't miss the opportunity to experience this incredible place for yourself. Trust me, it's worth every step!

What a stunning view and challenging hike! I choose the rocky hike from the tunnel car park and walked beck down the stairs to town. Decent footwear is essential for this route. It's not necessarily worth paying to see the fortress as the views are just as good outside. Take water and suitable clothes to cover yourself.

The old castle above Omiš with its guard, who has been serving for 12 summers. Sturdy shoes, water and leave in the morning. There is an entrance fee of 3.5 euros per adult. Children free. The views are amazing!

Seeing the fortress ruins from the bay area doesn't tell you the whole story. To get there you've got a choice of two, red marked tracks - one starts just after the tunnel and the other starts in the town center, the former being a harder climb. The climb is worth it as after you get to the top, you'll be astonished by the gorgeous view of the bay, the intensity of the sea color and the refreshing wind bringing relief. I recommend to enter the ruins for the small fee as the view from the top of the tower is breathtaking. Also please don't forget to get yourself a bottle of water and a decent pair of shoes, preferably heel supporting trekking shoes as especially after the rain the tracks may become slippery.

I highly recommend the easy hike that starts from the right part of the old town (around 50 min hike). Go in the morning and bring water with you. The entrance fee is 25 Kuna.

Hiked the side from town in flip flops, without water. Wouldn't recommend it, but it can be done if you have to make it work. It was well worth the views, but the hike up is not an easy one. Have cash euros to pay the nice gentleman caretaker at the top the entrance fee.

Path takes approx one hour from Omis to up. The option is also to leave your car at the last buildings, in the middle of the path from Omis then it takes half an hour.
