I really enjoy this hike. It's all uphill with some steep hills. Definitely go prepared. Start early, however I had great weather on my side. You Definitely get a workout and you have an amazing view the higher you go. I bet on a clear day I can see forever. This is one hike you should conquer at least once.

Great park, well. Maintained trails. Public restroom with flush toilets and running water. Picnic tables. Easy parking for 20 or so cars. Respect the neighborhood. This is next to the monastery in Sierra Madre.

Recommend to visit the water fall from the trial head on the right hand side of the parking lot, and return from the trial along the river through the Indian cave.

Great tough hike up to Joned Peak. Busy trail but hikers respectful and wore masks when passing. Some steep sections so recommend hiking poles to save your knees. If no parking inside, plenty of parking in quiet neighborhood just be respectful to neighbors.

Great hike. Quite steep in some sections recommended very early in the morning due to lack of shade.

A lot of cool things on this trail. If you go across the bridge to the right you'll come to a clearing with a couple rope swings! There's also a great area with a fire pit I'd love to use at some point. I had the opportunity to come here with my own wheel and use it in the trail, which was also a blast!

Nice little picknick area near the parking and if you keep going up you get to the trailhead to head into the Angeles National Forest / San Gabriel Mountains. Steep trail with nice views over San Gabriel Valley and towards downtown LA. Couple of benches to rest and take in the views along the way.

Visited this wonderful place as a family. My son was thrilled with the wonderful views. He even drew two pictures of the places he liked best. No sooner had we left home than our daughter wanted to come back here for her birthday. We will definitely come back.

I randomly found this park the other day when looking for hiking spots in the area. There's quite a few trails here for different levels of difficulty. There split off into different areas but I went towards the Bailey Canyon Trail and went towards the Canyon View Nature which was only like 0.5 miles one way and also walked through the small little Nature Trail on the way to Bailey Canyon sign which has a very suspicious bridge. You can also access Jones Peak from the same trail and if I read some of the signs correctly, there are also trails to Mt. Wilson from parking lot The parking lot can be a bit rough as it seems it can be quite packed at times and the lot is very small. I recommend parking on the street if you can for easy access in and out. There is some shade throughout most of the trails but if you are taking those longer trails up the mountain, I recommend bringing hat, sunscreen and of course water for the SoCal heat and sun.

I have gone to Bailey Canyon since I was a kid. I mean, for those that know, Eaton Canyon was my uphill go-to but as a Webelo I went to Wilderness Park in Arcadia so I'm familiar with the savage east. We went and sure enough, it looks much like it did thirty years + ago. Snap, I think that's the Monk place next to it and I should look it up on the inter webs but that not the track I remember it in. Pity. I wonder what it is... Anyway, it was awe some listening to my cousin from Lathrop saying how much he loves Bailey, etc etc and would go to where he'd access Hastings Ridge and go through it to get to My. Wilson Trail and / or Jennifer.

This was always a great place for a hike. Experience being ruined by a guy who over maintains the trail. He's either raking, clipping, shoveling or trimming. Every day. He leaves his little trimmings on the trail..4 to 6 inch pieces of plants and bushes. He chops at edges of trail causing it to erode. Mother Nature has done a good job with this trail and can do without constant OCD nit-picking. It's a Wilderness trail, not his personal garden. Last spring this trail was lined with beautiful wildflowers not seen in years. They were cut down with a chain saw and left in piles along the trail to dry out. Piles still there, ugly black and gray, fuel for a fire. What probably started out helpfully removing debris after a rainfall has snowballed into an obsession. Move on brother.

Really pleasant hike, and if you don't want to go all the way to the top, there are two rest points which alone are worth the view.

Nice moderate hike. Start early to avoid the sun. Bring your water, snacks & a friend always in the event of an accident. A fully charged cell phone is a must. Also tell someone close to you where you're heading just to be safe. A scenic view of the SG valley awaits you.

The restrooms are located at the entrance, i called the Sierra Madre police station to make sure that the trail was open because they are the guys that open the entrance and close down the park. The trail was hard difficulty, bring plenty of water and good hiking footwear.

Nice hike trail. If you want to reach the Jones peak it takes around 2h from the parking

The main trail just keeps going up and you become more and more exposed to the sun. There is a little trail I think it said "view" or "scenic" or something...it goes down off the trial to the left into the canyon. We took this trail on our way back and MAN was it worth it! It was shaded, cool, lots of interesting plants and TONS of beautiful bluebelly lizards! We even saw a blue tailed skink!!! They are only down in the canyon, we didn't see them anywhere else on the hike.

This is an exhilarating height to give you a great hike and make it dangerous right of the bat. Enjoy but never make the mistake to hike in rain. A tremendous effort is made by brave people to hold the mountain/erosion of eating away the trail.
