My husband and I went last weekend and had a great time. The temperature is rising, so there may be a few more weeks of pleasant weather. The scenery is lovely and we saw goats, gazelles, fish and a small turtle. Aside from the kayak (60aed for one hour), pedal boat (90aed for one hour), and another type of boat (I forget the price), there is a small supermarket, ice cream shop, restaurant, a small mosque and a lovely playground for children. Parking is limited, but if you arrive before noon, you should be fine. It's a must visit and we'll be back.

Couple of times we tried to get down there at weekend evenings. But we couldn't, since it was too much crowded. So we went there one friday early morning. And it was a good decision😊. Only a couple of families were there. The scenery was great. Kids enjoyed playing on the play area. They were excited over ducks in the dam area. The park is accessible 24hrs. But the boating starts only at 8am. We had a great trip.

Also, ladies wear pants/leggings under your Abaya 😄 The ride is 30 minutes, which is enough. However, some people arrived at sunset. It is not allowed to use the boats after that. The longue food was nice. For those who want to try the traditional Emirati food, this is a good chance. We ordered the (fawala plater) it is a mini selection of most famous dishes. The price was good 👌🏻 I would like to visit this place again in winter, inshallah.

Kayak and boat rides now available (no Jetskis). Great for Instagrammers as both morning and evening sun light gives you good angles for great photos. Can be accessed easily form both directions on the main road S142 (Khorfakkan road). Not a place for picnics, as the area is targeted for tourists. Close by is another great attraction Najd Al Maqsar Heritage Village developed and opened for the public recently (2023).

This place is absolutely neat and clean. There is a small restaurant, grocery store and an Icecream parlour where you can stop and relax. The dam has a few boats, kayaks which can be rented for 1/2 hrs or more by paying cash/ card. You can spot a couple of ducks on the water too.
