If
you
are
looking
for
a
weekend
or
midweek
break,
forget
the
big
hotels!
Oak
house
in
Laois
is
the
place
to
go.
It
is
a
beautiful
Guest
house
set
on
it's
own
,
between
Portarlington
and
Monasterevin,
not
far
from
the
M7.
Although
far
enough
away
to
not
to
hear
any
noisy
traffic.
Whether
it's
a
round
of
golf
at
the
Heritage
golf
club
or
some
Christmas
shopping
in
Kildare
Village,
also
a
great
spot
to
stay
for
festivals
or
the
ploughing
.
Oak
house
has
a
personal
touch,which
is
very
much
missed
by
most
hotels.
It
is
like
staying
home
from
home
here,
you
will
receive
the
warmest
welcome.
A
true
definition
of
a
Cรฉad
Mรญle
Fรกilte.
I
recently
stayed
here
with
my
family
and
we
couldn't
have
chosen
a
better
place
to
stay.
Trish
and
Padraig
welcomed
us
into
their
home
as
if
we
had
known
them
for
years.
Wonderful
hosts
and
couldn't
do
enough
for
us.
They
made
us
feel
at
home.
After
a
very
long
day
and
long
drive,
we
were
able
to
unwind
in
the
living
room,
with
a
super
comfy
couch
and
the
TV
to
ourselves.
We
even
received
a
lovely
box
of
irish
chocolates,
which
was
a
lovely
touch.
The
bedroom
,
was
clean
and
cosy
with
very
comfy
beds.
Tea
and
coffee
making
facilities
in
the
room.
Also
as
any
irish
person
knows
the
ritual
of
a
'crisp
sambo'
is
something
to
behold
and
now
part
of
our
culture.
Much
to
our
delight
there
was
a
couple
of
packets
of
Tayto
and
some
sliced
bread,
butter
and
a
few
other
goodies.
I
have
to
say
out
of
all
the
places
I've
ever
stayed,
this
is
one
of
the
most
memorable
and
we
wish
we
could
have
had
a
few
more
days
there.
However,
we
will
definitely
be
back
again.
