Their afternoon tea is a delight. Good mix of sweet and savoury, and very interesting flavours. I’d have liked a selection of loose leaf tea rather than Pukka Tea, but overall it was very good value. The person who waited on our table was lovely and attentive, and we were even given boxes to take home the cakes we couldn’t finish. The café has a unique selection of sweets and cakes, as well as lunch and dinner dishes. There’s both indoor and outdoor seating.

Absolutely loved the food here. Everything looked very appealing. Mostly middle Eastern dishes, including vegan. Scrumptious. Best aubergine I've tasted in a long while. I had filo pastry spinach pie. Big portion, with three salads. Chickpeas were very tasty. Cappuccino was hot and strong. Ordered inside. Ate outside.

Lovely place inside the Chester Beatty Library. Food is very good, there are vegetarian and vegan option, too. All around is very quite even if there is a lot of people. Around 10 tables outside the cafe and 5 inside. Prices are fair and quality of food for shure better than a lot of diners around (and maybe cheaper too). Enclosed some pics. Try and enjoy.

Wonderful experience at Silk Road Cafe, had an afternoon tea that we enjoyed so much we returned for dinner. If you’re apprehensive about Middle Eastern cuisine, don’t be - everything we tried was truly delicious. And the baklava! Heavenly. Combined with the lovely staff who were extremely friendly, accommodating and professional (especially in the face of one of my party making ridiculous seagull-related demands), this place is a real hidden gem right in the middle of the city. Highly recommend.

Really impressed, some of the best food I’ve had in a while. The delivery was quick and easy and the spinach pie was top notch! Keep it up so I can order from you guys again!

We had a hard time finding gluten free options in Dublin, but almost their whole menu was gf. You also get to eat in the elegant Chester Beatty museum courtyard with views of the Dublin Castle! Best meal of our entire two week trip! Absolutely outstanding food and reasonable!

A huge thank you to all at Silk Road. The afternoon tea on Saturday was for my hen party, and it was AMAZING! The quality of the food was superb, the quantity was amazing, the service was just perfect.... all in all, it was fantastic. As a coeliac, I was especially delighted with the gluten free choices - every bit as amazing as the food the others got. And the vegans said the same. It's very special to be able to feel like you're not missing out when you have a special dietary requirement. Every one of us were amazed and loved it. I've asked all to spread the word about the amazing offering to their friends and family (I think they will anyway), and to give positive feedback online/reviews, etc.

First class food in a comfortable spotlessly clean restaurant. Ibrahim, his family and his staff are very welcoming people. The restaurants caters for vegetarians as well as carnivores and is excellent value for money. I love this restaurant as I can always get top quality vegetarian food whenever I am in Dublin. I bring all my foreign visitors to this restaurant and everyone of them has spoken very positively about the quality of the food and the helpful staff.

The food here is delicious. You may choose fish, pork, lamb dish and fill it with rice and vegetables. Portion is huge, you can ask for half of the portion. Great place as well, on the gallery building. Price for such a plate is more then reasonable, especially comparing with cafe in the castle. Definitely recommend this place.

I recently (June 2023) used the "Silk Road Cafe" within the museum to host an afternoon tea as part of a baby shower for a friend. The location is central, has nearby public transport and car parking. The waitress assigned to us was very friendly and accommodating. They explained what each menu item we were served was, took photos and made conversation. The food was beautiful and each guest was offered a Tupperware at the beginning to bring extras home. While arranging it with the venue via email I found the staff helpful, supportive and accommodating. The pricing was exceptionally competitive at €30 per head (with no alcohol). The table settings were eclectic and charming.

The closest to home made Mediterranean/ Middle Eastern Cuisine that you can find in Dublin. The choices are eyewateringly delicious. I always want to order everything from the mousaka to the stuffed peppers. It’s tucked away inside the Chester Beatty Museum Building. You have to walk around Dublin Castle and cut through Dubh Linn Gardens to get there. Easy once you know. It’s an oasis of calm and beautiful art prints from the museums vast collection. I had the creamy paprika chicken with two salads and rice for €15. As a food tour guide and former resident of Istanbul, I can safely recommend this cafe’s food as unique not only in Dublin but Ireland.

This is realistically one of the best places to get breakfast or lunch in Dublin around Dublin castle. It is particularly cheap. With les than 20€ you can get coffee, a good portion of food from their daily menu with rice and salad, and a desert. Portions are fair and delicious dishes with many vegan and vegetarian options. Service is quick and you can be sited inside the beautiful Chester Beatty building or outside looking at the fantastic garden. Dishes could change daily, i left a picture of what I got but it’s not a permanent menu. Plus! Hummus is fantastic!

Excellent, tasty, and interesting food. I can see many of the dishes are from along the silk road, especially middle eastern, as the name of the cafe suggests (and reflected by the interests of the museum itself). The menu has a huge selection, with vegetarian / vegan options. Huge selection of desserts and tea as well. Staff lovely and friendly, offered to take my food to my seat as I was with the pram. Wheelchair accessible. Also wheelchair accessible bathroom nearby. There is also a baby changing room nearby.

Well located restaurant with a quiet and cozy atmosphere. The food is served as per the costumer's choice, with I found very practical. The food options are varied, vegetarian-friendly and really tasty. They also have a good selection of cakes and pastries that are totally worth the try. There is some queue by 12 AM to 13 PM, but nothing really long-lasting. Tables are available in and outside and reservations are possible. The staff is kind and friendly and the food has a really good price for Dublin patterns. The garden surrounding the place is a very good option to chill after eating.

Great vegan afternoon tea! It was just a pity we wanted more but they just do the vegan food by booking before hand... The afternoon tea was 5 savoury options and 5 sweet...

When trying to reserve a booking, the attitude and manner of the girl on the phone was an absolute disgrace, needs training in customer service. No loss, plenty of other places in Dublin pleased to take a reservation.

rude staff make you feel bad, they also make the worst coffee in dublin . *also there is nothing wrong with me buying a meal from somewhere else and getting coffee from you.I did not treat your staff rudely , the person who was rude to me was one of your chefs working in the kitchen using their hands to say get out of here . Instead of communicating with me verbally, you rudely used your body language so that you can get out from here. The staff who came for the second time warned my brother in a polite way, there is nothing wrong with him. but whoever gave us the first warning i really think there is a problem with communication. also boiling the milk, pouring it into the glass and then pouring the espresso over the milk does not make it coffee and these prices do not deserve it. Please be clear and I hope you find a solution to your problems asap . anyway , don't take it personal , critique is a present. thanks

Great cafe, with a wonderful selection of foods. There was a Tuskish menu, everything looked delicious. I opted for the vegetarian stuffed pepper, with a salad. Generous portions. There are tables inside and outside with plenty of space. Very friendly staff and great service. A nice ambience to the cafe. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Great place with amazing selection of coffees, cakes and lunch served with a smile. Visited the Chester Beatty library few days ago with some friends and we stumble upon the Silk Road cafe. And we were glad we did. We got some coffees and cakes to start before our tour and the cakes were delicious and great coffees. And we couldn’t resist not to have lunch after our tour. Great selection which accommodate our group of vegetarian and vegan friends too. Everything was freshly done in the cafe. And the service was friendly and professional. Couldn’t recommend this place enough. Will be back soon.

This Cafe inside the Chester Beatty museum looks to be a very inviting place with both inside and lobby sittings that's spacious. Food also looked very delicious. However the line on this day moved extremely slow. 15-20 minutes to move just a few people.

Fantastic food, kind service with plenty of traditional treats to try for dessert. Highly Recommend this spot for lunch or evening meals, from the amazing portion served and plenty of tasty beverages to choose from its a delightful little spot with a fabulous set up and an amazing garden to eat and drink outside. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, and was given great recommendations for the city. From the food to the service I’ll be definitely going back to visit and say hi again. 10/10
