Located
in
Dublins
financial
district
The
Harbourmaster
is
just
a
short
stroll
from
both
the
bus
station
and
Connolly,
making
easily
accessible
by
train,
tram,
bus,
taxi
or
car.
The
venue
itself
has
a
slightly
rustic
charm
feeling
a
little
bit
mismatched,
but
unapologetically
so
.
The
menu
is
fairly
simple
and
brief
featuring
classics
like
soup
du
jour,
chicken
wings,
fish
and
chips
and
lamb
shanks,
but
rest
assured
these
few
dishes
are
done
very
well.
For
my
starter
I
ordered
the
smoked
salmon
plate,
with
everything
you
might
expect-
the
bread,
the
lemon,
the
salmon
it
was
entirely
as
you'd
hope
to
find
it
.
Most
remarkably
though
was
the
sheer
size,
it
really
was
the
dish
that
kept
giving.
My
partner
had
the
seafood
chowder
which
was
very
flavourful,
incredibly
rich
and
creamy
and
certainly
not
skimpy
on
the
size.
For
the
main
I
chose
the
pan
fried
pork
loin
with
cider
braised
cabbage
and
creamy
mash.
The
pork
was
incredibly
tender
with
just
the
right
amount
of
crunch
on
the
fat.
The
cabbage
was
just
the
right
level
of
punchy
without
being
aggressive,
and
the
mash
was
unremarkably
mash.
A
hint
more
gravy
would
have
set
me
just
right,
but
that's
not
a
reflection
on
the
food
rather
my
love
of
gravy
and
there
NEVER
being
enough.
My
partner
opted
for
the
lamb
shank
with
seasonal
vegetables
and
creamy
mash.
The
lamb
was
perfectly
cooked
to
falling
off
the
bone,
and
beautifully
presented,
again
the
mash
lacked
a
certain
something
but
was
tasty
all
the
same.
In
terms
of
the
service
the
staff
were
very
friendly,
accommodating
and
generally
happy
to
help,
that
said
there
were
a
few
service
errors
such
as
the
water
glasses
not
being
topped
up/
no
water
being
offered,
no
salt
and
pepper
on
the
table,
and
we
asked
one
of
the
staff
for
fresh
cutlery
with
the
main
as
we'd
both
had
a
fish
starter,
he
enthusiastically
nodded
...and
that
was
the
last
we
saw
of
him,
to
the
point
we
grabbed
our
own.
Obviously
one
can
forgive
we
are
just
coming
out
of
a
period
of
no
service,
I
think
we're
all
a
little
rusty.
Overall
a
lovely
experience
with
very
tasty
food,
we
would
have
had
dessert
but
we
had
to
practically
roll
out
of
the
place.
I'll
definitely
be
popping
back
again.
