The
many
positive
reviews
attracted
my
family
to
this
restaurant
just
a
few
steps
from
our
hotel,
however
we
were
extremely
disappointed
with
the
service.
When
we
walked
into
the
cafe
upstairs,
after
waiting
several
minutes,
I
asked
the
barista
where
we
might
wait
for
a
dinner
table.
He
said
“downstairs”
without
looking
up.
When
we
arrived
downstairs,
a
server
impatiently
waited
to
head
up
the
stairwell
while
my
72
year-old
mother
finished
making
her
way
down
the
stairs.
The
host
promptly
greeted
us
with
an
immediate
“hello,
we
do
not
have
any
tables”.
We
walked
in
without
a
booking,
so
it
wasn’t
unreasonable
at
all
that
they
didn’t
have
something
right
away.
I
asked
when
a
table
would
be
open
and
he
said
that
there
wouldn’t
be
one
until
8:30
(about
two
hours
later,
also
fair
given
that
we
didn’t
have
a
booking)
all
the
while
not
looking
at
us
or
offering
to
book
us
a
table.
He
did
not
wish
us
a
good
night
or
day
goodbye.
We
were
clearly
not
welcome
at
this
restaurant
and
sadly,
I
think
it’s
because
we’re
American.
I
brought
my
elderly
mother
and
my
tween
son,
so
I
wonder
if
we
simply
didn’t
meet
their
expectations?
It
was
the
rudest
interaction
we’ve
encountered
in
our
two
weeks
in
country.
I’m
well-traveled
and
comfortable
navigating
new
places,
but
also
humble
because
I’m
new
to
every
place
I
go,
so
I
very,
very
much
want
to
respect
individuals,
businesses,
customs,
etc.
I’m
extremely
polite
and
friendly
and
we
were
treated
horribly
here.
We’re
staying
at
a
very
well-established
hotel
nearby
(not
to
sound
like
a
pretentious
jerk
face
myself,
but
this
is
a
super
special
trip
for
my
family)
and
while
our
jeans
and
ages
might
not
have
shown
it
on
this
specific
day,
I
like
to
frequent
highly-rated
restaurants.
I’ll
be
letting
our
hotel
(and
this
Google
audience)
know
about
this
experience.
I
hope
the
food
is
1,000
times
better
than
the
customer
service.
