As many other reviews mentioned, the rooms and facilities were VERY dated. It feels like one step up from a hostel, which is fine if that's what you're looking for, but I kinda expected a bit more from a '3 star hotel'. I don't usually leave 'bad reviews', and this isn't necessarily one either - just want to give people a heads up based on my experience. As an example, our room doesn't have any sort of mini fridge or air conditioning. We were on the 3rd floor, which was nice, but I definitely feel bad for the folks below us because the floors were noticeably loud. The bed was comfortable! But the room just felt very 'bare'. It was fine and clean overall, but I feel like the website and pictures they have were a bit misleading, or maybe of their 'best' rooms. That being said, it's in a very convenient location (I wouldn't necessarily say 'great location' - there were a few homeless folks hanging outside, and they more or less have a bar bouncer as a late-night security guard). Again, it's fine, especially at the cheap price point, and it's very close to downtown, so it would be perfect if you're really only looking for a place to crash. The staff has been super friendly! But overall, it isn't really what I was expecting.

Perfect location - city centre in the walking distance but also plenty of bus/tram stops around the hotel. The staff was really nice and helpful. Easy check-in and check-out. Good-sized rooms with a large bathroom. However, train track right next to our window made a lot of noise, even in the middle of the night. Also, A/C was out of order - it wouldn't bother us to be honest, but I think nobody expected the weather to be that hot, so having it in working order would make our stay more comfortable. To sum up - it is a great hotel if you are visiting Dublin for a couple of days.

We stayed at Beresford Hotel for just one night for a short trip to Dublin, the location was perfect with a coach station and tram stop to all ideal locations within 100yds of the hotel entrance. The hotel was well presented, the rooms were modern and clean. The hotel was no more than a 10 minute walk to city centre, and just a 15 minute tram journey away from the Guinness Storehouse which is worth visiting! Would definitely stay here again if return to Dublin.

Title: Great Start, Terrible Finish My recent stay at this hotel had me experiencing a stark contrast between the warm welcome we received upon arrival and the nightmarish encounter we had when checking out. Initially, I was impressed by the friendly and accommodating staff when we arrived. Our group of two had booked a room, but our situation took an unexpected turn when one of our friends missed the last bus home after a night out. We approached the receptionist that night, and she didn't hesitate to allow our friend to stay in our room for an extra fee. We appreciated her understanding and flexibility. However, our morning checkout was a complete disaster. We were met by a different woman who seemed completely oblivious to the previous night's arrangement. Rather than listening to our explanation, she reacted with extreme rudeness and disdain. She made it abundantly clear that she found our situation "unacceptable." As we tried to clarify the circumstances, she cut us off mid-sentence, going on a rant about how we needed to pay an additional fee. While we were willing to pay, the issue was her aggressive and disrespectful demeanor. She demanded payment, slamming things around and carelessly handling the card machine. The whole experience left us feeling frustrated and disrespected. I understand that our situation was not ideal, but we were stranded in an unfamiliar city in the middle of the night. Leaving a 20-year-old woman on her own in such circumstances was out of the question. It's regrettable that our stay ended on such a sour note, as the earlier interactions with the staff had promised a more pleasant experience. In conclusion, the hotel's staff had the potential to make our stay memorable for the right reasons, but the lack of consistency and the shockingly poor service during check-out overshadowed any initial positive impressions. This establishment has some improvements to make in terms of staff training and customer service.

The best place about this hotel was the location. About a 10 minute walk from the city centre. The room was very cold at night even with the heating on, bed was comfortable. The 2 ladies at reception were rather unfriendly, didn’t explain anything when I checked in, no enthusiasm, smile or whatsoever. The man that was there later on was quite friendly. I probably wouldn’t stay again.

On arrival: Only just arrived. Not too happy if I’m honest. Room not very clean, none of the lamps work and wires are all broken which is a safety hazard, bathroom mirror is broken, the room is like a hot box it is so overwhelmingly warm and no air con. This was supposed to be for our 3 year anniversary although I’m not too sure how we are going to be able to relax. After leaving: So we have now checked out and thank goodness for that. I paid for late check out (2pm) when booking the hotel but we ended up checking out early anyway as we needed out ASAP. I woke up with swollen, bleeding, crusty lips due to dehydration with how warm it was in the room despite having a 1L water bottle beside me, that ended up warm too. It was colder outside and nice and cool in the hallways of the hotel than in the room. This hotel should really invest in some air conditioning. I couldn’t get a wink of sleep I felt as I was suffocating I ended up hysterically crying. As someone with autism this had my sensory issues through the roof. May I also add that there was numerous flys just is swarms all around the hotel!! All in all I do not recommend! There are far cheaper and more luxurious hotels right in the centre beside O’Connell street that we’ve stayed in as we typically come to Dublin 1-2 times a year. This really has disappointed us. If I could recommend a hotel that I swear by, it would be Academy Plaza Hotel!!! Check it out :)

Great location, close to bus, train and luas to help get around the city. We had 2 rooms - 308 & 309. Both spotless. Our room was 309 & the mattress could do with replacement - it was a small double & the room could accommodate a king bed which would be so much better. The floors are also quite soft & squeaky so you can hear everyone moving around. The bathroom was spacious & clean with a shower over the bath. There was no bottled water in the room which was a small inconvenience. Staff were very friendly & I liked how the hotel was secure - the front door was locked when we came back late at night with staff checking off each resident by name & room number upon entering. They appear to be painting the main common areas at reception & all corridors on level 3 could do with the same. For the price we paid - £125 on a Monday in January - it was very reasonable. The location & price were ideal but unless they upgraded their beds I wouldn’t be rushing to stay again.

Nice hotel at a very good location in Dublin town. The room was cosy and well arranged. The service was good as well. The only thing I missed was kettle and a coffee in the room, but not a big deal. Overall very good value for the money.

Truly amazing staff at this lovely hotel. So warm and welcoming from the moment we checked in to every time we walked past the front desk, there was always someone with a smile wishing us a nice time. Fantastic location also. The room while not the fanciest was plenty for what we needed and great value given location and the hospitality. I've stayed in 5 star hotels that could take lessons in hospitality from the team at the Beresford. Big thank you to all the staff and keep it up, it makes all the difference to your guests!

Was here for one day. Took a day off from office work at Cork and visited Dublin. This hotel is right at the heart of the city, near Temple bar area. Red line train stops right at the hotel. My booking was at 3 PM but I reached at 8 AM. The manager gave me a room anyways. Amazing staff and location and best price

It was all right. Good for a very short stay but would not recommend it if you're planning on having some rest while exploring the city. Lift is extremely slow. There was only one window with curtains so you can't escape the sunrise unless you have eye masks. I could hear everything around me, voices in the corridor and laughs from neighbouring rooms. Not recommended if you're looking for peace. Wifi was very poor and not working properly. Poor signal in the rooms. Decent price, great location. Front of house staff was very kind.

Was greeted by Julian on reception who was very friendly and welcoming. Also another lady with dark hair. He gave us a great room on the second floor that was noise proof so had a great sleep as was weary after reading previous reviews about noise. The room was very clean with hairdryer and iron. We never booked breakfast initially but paid on the day. Paid around £27 sterling (should have picked euro as works out cheaper) for both of us. Food was delicious and a great range. Short walk to the Arlington bar O’Connell bridge and all the major shops including Primark (prinnys). Bus to airport is about 5 min walk

I highly recommended not to stay this hotel. Very poor maintenance. Room is small. I have very bad experience of that hotel. I got accident. Toilet accident. Slept in the toilet.i have lots of bleed but it's normal because I hit my head. But after that is gone. But the reception is panic she call garda and ambulance 🚑. She accused my boyfriend hit me or assault me. Lots of drama. Accident is normal. I don't like this hotel at all. What a very very very bad experience in my whole life. And very noisy the surrounding as well. Not recommended at all

Lovely clean spacious room and desk staff were very welcoming and Kelvin was very helpful. Good selection of hot food for breakfast but unfortunately it wasn't hot. The hotel is in a good location being close to the train station but is very noisy at night.

We seemed to be upgraded to a very sophisticated room on arrival. Very pleased with our visit. Staff were polite on arrival and departure. Any visits to Dublin that require us to stay will be here.

PRETTY GOOD, HOWEVER ... The hotel itself is really easy to find and is nicely located, so most of the main attractions on the east side of the city are within walking distance. The room itself is nice enough, not the most modern room you'll stay in - but perfectly serviceable for the duration of your stay. I found things to be clean and in order. The biggest asset is also is biggest downside: it's right next to Connolly Station! It's NOISY!!! If you're a light sleeper, ask for a room that's away from the side of the street. Because if you get a room like mine which you can see the station from out of the window - you'll be hearing bus and tram noise until at least midnight and then from 5:00am onwards. The soundproofing is not sufficient to block out the noise when the windows are shut. It didn't bother me in the slightest, but I know it'd ruin someone's holiday, so please bear that in mind.

We stayed here for one evening & had a good experience! The staff on the desk were absolutely brilliant, really kind, and efficient. The downstairs of the hotel has clearly been redecorated more recently than the rooms, which were a bit worn and dated in places - everything was clean though! The windows and walls are verrrrry thin. We could hear everything going on outside the hotel and sometimes other people in their rooms. Luckily, the hotel is tucked out of the way of the main buzz of the city so it wasn’t so bad that we couldn’t sleep. This is one of the cheaper places to stay in Dublin and it’s good value for what you get, although I wouldn’t say this is a place for people who are wanting a night in - it’s better for those out and exploring the city throughout the day and only coming to sleep really. It’s about a 15-minute walk to the main Temple Bar area and a 30-minute walk to the Guinness Storehouse - we never needed to use transport other than to and from the airport.

Do not stay here if you want to get any sleep! There is a hostel round the side who make noise at all hours of the night, the tram is also outside and runs literally every 15 minutes. You’ll be woken up by the people above and beside you as the walls and ceiling are thin. The rooms are not what the photos are online. It’s unfortunate as the location is good and the breakfast is excellent but we had no sleep and we’re kept awake all night. I have attempted to contact management several times and have not been responded to.

A beautiful hotel with excellent staff. Very friendly and informative. Decor is outstanding in the lobby. Lift is very narrow and slow so I would suggest using the stairs if capable. Rooms are spacious and tidy. Heating was turned off on arrival so the room was cold. Downfalls: Bathroom: Stained towels in the bathroom Stained Bathtub Loose showerhead on wall Cracked wash basin Bedroom: Although the building is old, the flooring was very squeeky Windowsill was not cleaned.

I liked this hotel - loved the bathtub. I felt safe and well taken care of. The breakfast room is an architectural marvel. Breakfast was terrific. Front desk staff were cheerful and helpful. I was able to drop my luggage off before check-in. Try to get a 100 series room - the 500 series are in the next building, joined to the lobby site by stairs up, and stairs down and winding hallways. Not great if your suitcase is heavy.

Pros: location is good, staff was friendly and the wifi was quite solid/fast Cons: very old fashioned and outdated hotel. When we arrived our room should've been ready, but it wasn't. Had to wait 30 min. Cracking floors, old carpet. The room had a very cheap bed with hard matras, woke up with sore muscles often. The sheets were old and stainy. You can often hear the train/trams passing by, quite loudly. The shower was cold and it took a long time to get warm. We stayed several nights but our room was NEVER cleaned or restocked with coffee/tea/towels/soap etc. I've never experienced this before at a hotel, the service is just non-existent. I guess you're better off paying for 4 separate nights so you at least get a clean room every day. Overall the location is good, but the whole experience was very, very poor for the price of €95 per night.

This hotel is a joke, we made a group booking and they couldn’t handle a booking of 5 rooms, everything got mixed up and we almost got denied entrance at night because we were too many people. Staff unhelpful, please avoid this hotel if you can

It may not be the best hotel, but I think it is in a convenient location with a reasonable price. The staff was friendly. It does give people wonderful memories. I totally enjoyed my stay here.

Nearly at the end of my week's stay. The reception & bar staff are all friendly, helpful & courteous.A full 5 stars for them. Wifi connection is very good. My room however is not up to the same standard. Bathroom clean. For some reason after 5 days of having 2 towels ,they reduced to 1. The general cleaning of the room just a surface clean. They can't change the fact that it's just a brick wall outside the window & I'm not here for the view, but the carpets definitely need changing, very tacky. On the plus side its quiet. I would book this hotel again ( but definitely NOT this room (552)). Its convenient for Dublin centre. Not too far from airport. Taxi stop just across the road from the hotel. The attached bar serves good meals and it's a friendly atmosphere .

We stayed 2 nights and would be happy to stay again. The common areas and our bedroom was nicely decorated and comfortable. Our room had a window which opened - a plus - as many hotels don't have these now - I like fresh air. The buffet breakfast was good and was held in the Italian themed restaurant. (Read the bit at the bottom about the railway). There was a pleasant and comfortable pub styled bar open to non-residents where we had our evening meals and a few drinks - also good. The airport bus drops off and picks up opposite the hotel and the main bus station is diagonally opposite the hotel. The hotel is a 10 minute stroll into O'Connell Street or Temple Bar which was convenient. Our room faced a side street and a light railway which made a clatter early in the mornings, this didn't bother us much - part of the local scene. We could have asked to change rooms, but we weren't fussed about this.

We chose this hotel as it was close to Connelly station, airport bus and centre of town. The front desk staff were wonderful, in fact all staff were wonderful. The breakfast room was amazing and the food was delicious. The bar served every drink you could mention. And their food menu was good if you didn't want to go far after a day sightseeing. The down side was first impressions. It was a bit noisy and like the other reviews our room was nothing like the photos. We had to pay 100 euros for any cigarette smoke (we don't smoke) or damage we might cause!! There already was quite a bit of damage when we opened the door (we took photos) Hopefully we will have the money returned soon. Would we recommend this hotel - yes it was good for a basic hotel for 2 nights.

I knew going in based on previous reviews that there would be alot of noise coming from the street. The noise level was the same regardless whether the windows were open or not. You have to remember that it is located across the road from a major bus station, train station around the corner, tram line, couple pubs, etc. I enjoyed the location as it was easy to walk places. The room was clean and great water pressure in the shower. Staff were friendly. They even arranged for an early morning taxi to the airport which saved the hassle of booking one myself.

This was our first stop on our honeymoon and we weren’t expecting much based on some of the reviews, but the staff were AMAZING. They surprised us with a free room upgrade and decorated the bed with rose petals. The staff were very very nice and really went the extra mile for us. The room was clean and comfortable. Despite being right beside the train line, the noise didn’t bother us too much. But it was really the staff that made the stay here awesome, thank you!!

Don't forget to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any hotel. This web site will compare hundreds of booking web sites and typically will have prices a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This resort is one of the most well known in the area. I have been staying here for a long time. If you stay for a few days you definitely won't be let down. Really happy with our stay here. The hotel was very clean, the staff were all so friendly and helpful and the location perfect.

Amazing place to stay. We stayed for 2 nights breakfast both mornings. Rooms were really clean and beds made perfectly. The breakfast was phenomenal and plenty of it. The staff are friendly and approachable and very helpful.

  • 1/5 Gary M. 1 year ago on Google
I cannot say anything positive about this hotel aside the staff were very helpful. The rooms are very very basic and for the price paid, I would have been better off staying in the local backpackers hostel. There were smoke detectiors covered up in the room, the fire alarm went off and on for nearly an hour during the night. The floors creaked, you could hear people moving around above you, then the noise of the trains during my stay. I had no hot water to bath in the morning and the list goes on. My advice, avoid this hotel at all costs, it's not worth the money paid.

Like many of the previous reviews I have mixed feelings about this hotel. I have started with a review of the room but please read my whole review as this was the only negative part. The room was a complete disappointment. We booked a room for three because our adult daughter was vacationing with us. The room was small and the furniture looked old and cheap. Our “king” bed was two singles pushed together and you could feel the edge of each mattress down the middle. The headboard was for a double so looked silly with the “king”. The window curtains were frayed and the sheets were on a wire (something from the 60s). The window ledge was painted white and touched up a few times with different shades of paint - not sure why someone should not just repaint the whole ledge. There was a hairdryer but it was attached to the dresser and we needed to wiggle the plug to get it to work. The bathroom was clean but again aged. There was shampoo but no conditioner. Plenty of towels. Water was hot. There was a kettle with tea and coffee - but only two cups and glasses - even though the room is set up for three. The chair was old and the covering was stained. We stayed here two nights - glad I hadn’t booked for longer. As others have said this room was more what you would expect to find in a hostel rather than a hotel. Now why a 3 star rating - because the rest of this review is about the good stuff. The restaurant and bar were both excellent. Breakfast was included and good - although we would have liked a choice of fried rather than scrambled eggs as they were hard and tasteless. Other than that the breakfast was good with a choice of hot and cold foods. The service was friendly and welcoming. The bar was modern, ambiance was lovely and service was exceptional. The foyer of the hotel was clean and bright and the staff were knowledgeable, friendly and very efficient. I consider the cost for two nights expensive due to the substandard room. If the room had been better I would have considered the price fair for down town Dublin near the bus terminal. I hope the hotel management read these reviews and update the rooms so that they match the other services. Unfortunately I cannot recommend this hotel - but the bar is worth a visit if you are staying close bye.

So far so terrible, arrived to the hotel after using the online check-in while also trying to figure out the looming 100euro deposit on prepayment warning . Arrived with all our details and got asked 21 questions just to check into our room . Staff were no way helpful and had given away our booked room to another guest . In exchange instead of getting a semi decent room ( one can assume ) we were instead given a dungeon room in which we had to go up and down stairs and through what felt like several types of hotel with the inconsistency in floors and walls . To go down two flights of stairs to the underground where our love double ‘room’ awaited . Instantly we were met with the smell of chlorine which and panes of glass as the windows were locked . The only breath of ventilation was from the bathroom window which in itself smelled of damp. I was honestly shocked that they shilled out this room to us which most definitely felt like a downgrade than what we originally booked while of course still getting full price for their mistake . I honestly will be avoiding this place in the future as honestly I’ve seen hostels in better spec . Feel ripped off to be honest

We spent 3 nights in this hotel. The location is very good, in terms of the center of Dublin, to take any type of transport. It is a nice place. Bedroom with kingsize bed, spacious, impeccably clean, full bathroom (if you don't have a hair dryer, ask for one at reception). Spectacular breakfast and in my opinion for all kinds of tastes. Highlight the exquisite treatment of the staff, both at the reception and in the rest of the services. Special thanks to Ursula, for her attention and for guiding us in terms of transportation, places to see and being so nice. I give a 10 to the hotel and a 10 to this trip.

  • 4/5 Frederik B. 2 years ago on Google
Lovely staff and the room mostly met our expectations. We were not expecting the noise from the railroad to be so prevalent, but it was not an issue for us. The part of the hotel we were staying in did however clearly need modernization. All in all we enjoyed our stay.
