Hubby loves the Irish Stew so we popped in for lunch.. the stew was excellent right enough. Lovely old, dark traditional Irish pub with great food and knowledgeable bar staff who were happy to describe and recommend from the array of whiskeys on show.

Nice, amiable and quiet atmosphere on a Wednesday night for the chat we wanted to have, but plenty of activity around with people coming and going. Food looked very nice, but we weren't eating that night; would Love to try it out sometime soon! Bar staff were attentive, friendly and professional, and had great banter with the regulars. This place really buzzes at weekends, due to its excellent location on Duke street, but thankfully remains a pub for adults! Will be back again soon.

"Home away from home" lovely atmosphere and great service. The gentlemen that served us were genuinely pleasant and our experience at The Duke will always be in our hearts with fond memories. Even though the establishment was understandably busy during lunch hour, we still managed to swap stories about Cape Town and the best recommended sights in beautiful Ireland. Thank you gents for making our visit to your lovely Dublin so memorable.

Had an amazing lunch there, haven't had a proper toasted special in 17 years. My wife appreciated that they serve half pints. Would love to visit again.

"The Duke in Dublin is an iconic pub that embodies the essence of Irish charm. With its rich history and cozy ambiance, it's a must-visit. The warm, dimly lit interior exudes a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for a pint of Guinness or a traditional Irish whiskey. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable, always ready to recommend the best brews or provide insights into the local culture. Live traditional Irish music performances add to the authentic experience, filling the air with lively tunes. The menu offers classic Irish pub fare, from hearty stews to perfectly battered fish and chips. The food is delicious and pairs excellently with their extensive drink selection. While prices can be a bit steep, the quality and portion sizes justify it. One standout feature is the outdoor seating area. The Duke's prime location in the heart of Dublin allows for fantastic people-watching and a view of the bustling streets. The only downside can be the crowds, especially during peak hours, but that's a testament to its popularity. Overall, The Duke captures the true spirit of Dublin's pub culture, making it a memorable destination for locals and tourists alike."

First time at the Duke Dublin. I had my usual Guinness and test to see how their fish & Chips are. Nice quaint pub restaurant. All servers and bartenders were very friendly and I can tell they all enjoy working together. That's a plus in my book. Guinness was delicious as usual. Fish & Chips were very good. Large piece of fish. Comes with fries and mushy peas. Fries could be deep fried longer. I like it more crispy, but still good. Mushy peas I'm still getting used to. I would definitely stop by again ! Thank you for a wonderful lunch ! 😋

Great pub for having a pint or two (or more), there are small tables on the corner outside and also few bigger ones, the interior is very beautiful, they also serve delicious traditional food. Definitely worth visiting. 🌞

Loved the literature pub crawl tour. Our guides were the best! Funny, hilarious and very good singers too. A must if you are in Dublin. You will get a lot of funny information about the history of Dublin, Molly Malone, James Joyce, Oscar wild and many more. I really enjoyed the tour and my stay at the Duke. They have a great range of delicious beer. Highly recommended!

I walked out of a couple of other pubs in the area because they were really loud and busy and I just wanted to sit down and have some food. This was one was quiet and the service was great. The seats are a bit awkward though so not very comfortable for eating. But overall a nice central pub.

Love this small bar...it's not small....looks like that from the outside..... just off Dawson Street and Grafton St. The food is A-typical of what you'd expect but cooked and served great. The atmosphere is fantastic but it's the staff that MAKES this place.

Fantastic spot! Visited the Duke at the weekend with a friend. We were shocked to discover that a generous size cappuccino in this establishment was only €2.90 and it was one of the best coffees I’ve had! If you are looking for a decent coffee where you won’t be ripped off, head to The Duke!

This was a good little out of the way pub to get something to eat in. The food, service and atmosphere where all good, just missing something to make it 5 stars. The staff weren't to chatty and simply took the order, despite being nice enough. The atmosphere seemed to be devided between locals and tourists and wasn't as inclusive as the other places I had been. The food, again, was nice but just normal pub grub.

A cool bar with great atmosphere, friendly staff and nice selection of drinks. Unfortunately the food quality was a little disappointing compared to everything else the bar offers. It's not bad, but I'd expect expect more than "beach standards" from a place that offers breakfast, lunch and dinner menu as well. If you're on a bar crawl, or you just want to drink a pint of Guinness/local craft beer, then The Duke is an excellent choice. But if you're looking for a culinary experience you can probably find something more satisfying.

Typical Irish pub always full of people from all over the world even just for a pint of Guinness. The irish stew is delicious. Very kind staff. The place needs to be renovated but the atmosphere is still very cozy

Stumbled across this place while looking for somewhere for a light lunch on a busy Saturday afternoon! The staff were super friendly and efficient! The seafood chowder was delicious, as was my wife's chicken and veg soup! I also enjoyed an excellent pint of Guinness for the dessert! 😊

A quick pop in for a beverage and nibble was not a disappointment! The chowder was rich, the nachos loaded and drinks cold!

Lovely, pristinely clean old pub with sweet, attentive, family neighbourhood style service and solid food. Great little nooks and crannies for private conversations too. They looked after me well and I will be back.

This pub is my local and has been for the past 9 years. Can’t say enough about it! Great for a quiet pint during the week or a lively catch up at the weekend. The Rugby, the Soccer, whatever the occasion! The staff are fantastic, all of which are looked after by an absolute gent of a manager. I understand it’s style is not for everyone but if you want a welcoming, local, genuine Dublin pub, you won’t be disappointed!

Really nice place: Delicious food, friendly service, great atmosphere! We went there on new years eve day in the afternoon, when it's too late to have lunch and to early to have dinner ;) Just getting a snack for us two to share. Took the mixed plate and it was wonderful! Adding some refreshing cider ontop and you're happy!
