Such a pretty pub! Staff was very friendly and live music was really nice!! I went with my friends on a Monday and still had a lovely time! We also ordered fish and chips and chicken ham pot pie to have with our beers! Both entrees were well made and fries are always a good snack to have after dancing and drinking~ Definitely recommend sitting in the balcony area to have a good view of the music and dancing below.

Great pub with live music during the day. If you have kids and want to experience Dublin culture, this is a great spot. Most places don’t have live music during the day and won’t allow anyone under 18 after 9pm - so take advantage of the experience! The food was fantastic and the atmosphere is perfect. Sit back and enjoy!!

This pub is very beautiful and the staff is very friendly. The live music was awesome. The food we got served was really good. We recommend the Merchant’s Arch because it is one of the pubs you must visit in Dublin. Overall we had a very nice evening, even though the alarm went off a couple of times, but that’s something that can happen to any place and the staff was trying really hard to solve the problem. Cheers to the musician.

Awesome pub with a great atmosphere. Check out the back room too, sort of a round room with a circular staircase. Staff was helpful. We just had some wings as an appetizer which where good, but nothing special. Recommended for a pint and hang out with some good music too!

(Translated by Google) The pure definition of an Irish pub with its top musical atmosphere and its ideal location, I recommend it more than the pubs located around it because it is more personal and less full than the others. (Original) La définition pure d'un pub irlandais avec son ambiance musicale au top et son emplacement idéale, je le recommande plus que les pubs situés autour car il est plus personnel et moins plein que les autres.

Nice decor, good beer and friendly staffs. The food menu is a little pricy but it is understandable because of its superb location.

Second time we went in there for a drink and a bite to eat , my partner went up the bar ordered the drinks , sat down and was admiring the decor, we was then approached and told after our drinks to leave because “boss man” did not like what we were wearing , comfy plain jogging bottoms and jumpers appropriate for the weather and walking , we felt really embarrassed and quite annoyed , we was about to order food , no where did it state what you had to wear to sit in a pub!!! Looking around people had walking boots on and water proofs , completely rude and unnecessary , horrible end to our lovely break in the city.

We have been in Dublin for a long weekend and whatever we have been doing we decided to end/start here. Definitely place worth visiting which won't break your budget. Even when is busy staff going to make you feel welcome and do their best. I will come back!

Great irish food, beautiful atmosphere, live music and very friendly and attentive staff. The Banoffee pie is a must have and the Ribeye Steak was great. We have been there 2 days in a row because the food is delicious. And even if it is too full the staff tries it's best, that you can take you're dinner.

We had the vegetable soup, which was pureed (2nd one like that) but very flavorful and savory. For the entree, I got Guinness Beef Casserole (which was delicious!!! The sides were ok...root veggies, mashed potatoes but with limited room in my stomach, I much preferred the casserole and didn't eat the sides) and my husband had their fish and chips. The fish was pretty good in my opinion, and that says a lot since i don't like fish normally. My husband said it was delicious and very fresh. Service was great and our seat by the window was lovely!

Merchant’s Arch has it all! Good food. Had a burger and fish and chips. Great drinks live music after 5:00pm (17:00). Best of all the photo opportunities are some of the best in Dublin. Absolutely a must!

Loud if you are upstairs in the restaurant and it's hot up there. Limited veggie options. Service is good but don't expect more than pub good. Hard to hear the singer over the noise of the patrons.

Loved this place. Excellent cottage stew. Friendly and welcoming staff and fellow diners. Very crowded downstairs. Had to walk around into the nooks and crannies to find a little room that had a place to sit and eat. The live music on the night I went consisted of three very talented sisters.

Nice place. Not too crowded. Great food and live music is good. Price of food is appropriate to what you'd see in this touristy area.

Popped in for some lunch whilst on a photo walk around Dublin. Hearty Cajun burger served up quickly was very much enjoyed, not too busy (it was late January) but still a great atmosphere helped along by the live musician getting the drinkers singing along. Friendly staff and the owner Tom, let me have a look at the upper bar whch at that time was closed until later in the day. Ideally located at the end of the Ha'Penny Bridge as you come into the Temple Bar area. Surely one of the best pubs in town to kick-start any visit to Dublin.

Nice bar with live music on a Wednesday evening. The performer was quite good, too! Bartender was very friendly and even gave tips on which whiskey is best as a gift for family back home in America. Food was delicious, and when we pointed out there wasn’t much meat in the Irish stew they brought a second bowl with more food at no charge. Would recommend!

This place definitely should be on your bucket list for your staying here in Dublin! Great atmosphere at night with live shows (the guy was doing many covers perfectly) the food was excellent and a great verity of beers for you to select from. Keep in mind that kitchen is open till 10:30 pm which is pretty late compared to other places we’ve been in and that is great. So to make a long story short- just go and you wouldn’t regret it.

What a fantastic place. Live music, amazing band. We've been here at 4pm on Saturday and party was fully on. Good choice of beer, food also available. Additionally plenty of space on the upper gallery.

I tried the traditional Irish stew with a pint of Guinness. I liked it. A nice place with a view on the Liffey river and with a live singer. The room on the third floor is big and well decorated with a supended plane from the ceiling!

The local beer, Smithwicks, is pretty good. The live music and service made the experience worth it. Great location right off the river. And Temple Bar is literally 50 feet behind the restaurant

The bartenders are rude, they got my drink wrong and charged me 14 euros for a double vodka?? (i ordered a vodka cola) Who drinks a double shot vodka in a glass anyway. Why not just change my drink? I never even took a sip of it.

(Translated by Google) Great pub! We were there twice, once in the evening and once for breakfast. In the evenings it is nailed full even during the week, but the great live music, the good food and the attentive service make it worthwhile to squeeze into even the smallest table. The breakfast is, surprise, very generous and we were glad that fried mushrooms are served here instead of the fried potatoes / hash browns. We can recommend breakfast here. Also, because you then have the chance to take a quiet look at the pub as a building, it can be seen! (Original) Super Pub!

Super nice Pub with good music and food! We easily got 4 places on a monday afternoon in March. Other times of the year, I would make a reservation in advance. We had tipical Irish food which was really good! As well as the good selection of beer and whiskey. I loved the decoration with many lovely details and visible history of this typical Irish Pub. There is live music every night from 5 pm untill they close. We had a lot of fun with the musicians.

I went in for a drink and a bite to eat with my family at 6pm on a Thursday. I was with my husband, my 12 year old son and my cousin who was visiting Ireland for the first time. We were refused service and forced to leave the establishment because my 12 year old son was wearing tracksuit bottoms. My husband and I are fro Dublin and were absolutely shocked. We were coming in from the office in our work clothes so just can't even fathom the idea of being refused service over our sons attire- which is totally acceptable for a 12 year old. We were warmly welcomed at the Temple Bar Pub. Im afraid due to the bad experience I wouldn't recommend the Merchant Arch Bar to families.

Staff treated us very poorly, food expensive. Limited menu - especially for the vegetarian and vegan options. Ruined our Christmas night out. Won't be returning.

  • 1/5 Conor L. 3 years ago on Google
The food was very bland and not worth the price paid. Drinks were average at best and the price for what was served was incredibly high. Not only was it expensive in terms of normal Dublin prices, we were left waiting almost an hour for our food which consisted of wings and burgers. I understand Covid-19 has interrupted service but this is unacceptable. There are plenty of other places I would much rather go than Cafe En Seine. The overpriced menu and uninviting atmosphere deserves a 1 star.

Fantastic place if you are first time in Dublin. Great selection of music 70's to 90's, live dj sets, great cocktail selection and friendly and professional staff. Always reserve a table as during the weekends it's always packed. Security gentlemans should be trained better for this high class night club, as they were asking some unappropriate questions after we confirmed our reservations. Anyway those little things can't ruin overall experience. Great for visit with friends.

This place has great food. We got the Burrata, the arrabiata and the duck parfait and it was all amazing. We got a brownie and a lemon posset for dessert... both unreal in taste and presentation. The bartenders made a special request cocktail for my girlfriend too. The decor and staff are great. The only reason I took away a star was that the music didn't suit the vibe (pop/house music) and the lighting was like a nightclub.

Completely new design — much better than before Just came back after a year: unfortunately, prices are over expensive for food and drinks, and if quality was there it would be acceptable, but it’s fade and there is very little in your plate. 2.5€ for extra bread :( Not worth it, won’t come back. Waiters are nice and paying attention. However they don’t know how to serve wine.. it’s not a pint, it’s a delicate liquor.

The ambiance as soon as you walk in is nothing short of magical! The 1920s architecture and plush furnishings are beautiful. Very good social distancing measures in place without being too obvious as well (thermal screening for temperatures, hand sanitizer and evenly spaced tables). The cocktails were delicious (please try the Café Martini!) and the food was amazing and very well thought out (New York brunchy goodness). Absolutely can't wait to come back! ✨

Nice ambience, but awful beer. This place need to clean their lines more often. I came here twice in four days and every pint the two of us had tasted mouldy. I’m sure it was the lines as just over the other side of the Ha’penny Bridge I had the same drink and it tasted a thousand times better. God knows what their kitchens are like if they don’t clean their beer lines…

Around the corner from the busy Fleet Street strip, The Merchant’s Arch delivers on classic pub food and delicious pints of the good stuff, Guinness. Enjoy live music after 5pm. What a gorgeous pub , I don't think I've been in a pub more beautiful than this . More whisky than you can shake a shillelagh at . Best pint of guinness. Quite peaceful in the day. Live music in the evening brings this place alive. Food was okay ,but the setting is fantastic.

Awesome atmosphere! We could dine in the "tower" that looks like it's from Hogwarts with framed pictures all over. We tried the Fish&Chips, the Cottage pie and the Ham&Chicken pie, with onion rings. Loved all of it! To top it off, they had an amazing singer who didn't catch a single break and definitely contributed to a memorable evening.

Great place for kickin' back some pints, and having a cottage pie while listening to some live music. Restaurant is separate from the pub. Oh, and chicken wings were really good!

  • 5/5 Patrick H. 5 months ago on Google
We had a lovely couple of hours in here. Despite it being a Monday evening (between 5-7pm) there was a fantastic live singer called Patrick O'Byrne on providing great entertainment and ambience in several different languages. This is a truly beautiful pub throughout that has a really great feel, and I was astounded by the spiral staircase which I discovered unexpectedly on the way to the (very well kept) toilets, with a lovely Christmas tree adding to the vibe. If you're in Dublin and want a great night out, or just need to kill a couple of hours before leaving for a flight, pop in here! I'll 100% be returning.

A very fun bar! Came on a Friday night around 8 but was able to get two bar seats still. The music was excellent and lovely festive decorations in November too. Drinks are expensive but you’re in the centre of Dublin, so it’s to be expected.

I certainly enjoyed the charm of this Temple bar while I tried some Irish Whiskey there. The bar tender was very informed about the types of whiskey available and catered to my taste. Try some method and madness single pot still, when you go there. It will warm you up from throat down!

Amazing !!!!( First time) Today, second Time... Despite a very pleasant first experience on our first evening in Dublin, I was quite disappointed on our last evening... Indeed, the service, the setting and the atmosphere are always very pleasant, but it seems to me very exaggerated to pay a glass of Connemara 12 year old whiskey at €26.50!! Especially after having consumed this same Whiskey the day before at The Temple bar at the price of €11.50.... I myself am a restaurateur and it seems to me that it is important not to confuse margin and abuse.... it's a shame, really, we loved the place...

Amazing atmosphere with great live music! Fast, efficient and friendly bar service. We had a great Friday night here, it was just the right level of busy. It is beautifully decorated with some interesting historical pieces. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

This place definitely lived up to the reviews! Incredibly decorated interior with very friendly service. The food was amazing, and the live music was a perfect touch. I recommend trying any of the pies!
