This hotel has such a great location to explore Dublin. I loved being able to walk around the city easily. Our room however felt outdated. With a little spruce up it would be five stars. The staff made us feel very welcomed with a sweet hand written note congratulating us on our honeymoon. I really liked that personal touch. We didn't eat the breakfast but it was a self serve Irish breakfast and cold bar options. I'd stay here in the future .

I liked the location, which is right in the heart of the city, a huge hotel with 6 floors where I stayed in a single room that I liked, only the Internet being bad, almost non-existent, I had to come to the entrance in a sitting sofa to get a good signal . Friendly staff, reasonably good breakfast, I found the atmosphere calm, relaxed, my room was very quiet and I managed to take some pictures from the window. I liked the decor and the room was warm. I made the reservation through booking but next time I'll do it directly with you because it's much cheaper, even breakfast, if it was included in the booking it was 14.99 and directly with you it's 9.99. Super fast check out, hand over the card and done. See you soon ;)

While we were part of a group tour and did not have our choice of hotels, this hotel was by FAR the worse! We must have been given the low budget rooms since all rooms on website looked completely different than what we were in. Room smelled like a goat. Bathroom was the size of a phone booth, and the bed was so small my feet hung off. For Americans travelers, it reminded me of a NYC side street hotel. Much better options in Dublin. Staff was also rude upon check in.

We have just came back from an overnight stay here and are already looking to book to go back next month with our kids this time. Staff were amazing and so friendly. Hotel is in a great central location with great access to shopping, transport and entertainment. Food in the restaurant was lovely too, my only comment on it would be a wider variety on the dinner menu would have been better, but not sure if this changes during the busier season. We will definitely go back to this hotel.

I’ll start this off by saying that I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The location is great, and I had a positive experience with most of the staff. No microwaves, no fridges. The AC shuts off in the middle of the night so if you sleep hot get ready to wake up a few times. The main reason I’m writing this review is my negative experience with the kitchen manager. I manage a kitchen in the states, so I’m slightly biased. I was denied service about 15 minutes before the kitchen closed (8:55 for reference, I believe they close at 9:15 most days) and all I wanted was a small frozen pizza. I was planning on tipping my last 50 euro to the crew, but I took it down to brannigans (they fed me with 5 minutes to spare, good lads and lasses). I don’t really like ordering at a place when it’s late, but I was tired and desperate. I had to wake up at 4 and my bus had been delayed to arrive at 8:30. I just wanted a frozen pizza and the chance to pack. I figured that wouldn’t be a big deal. In my mind, denial of service when the kitchen is open is an immediate serious conversation. Your mood should not affect your company’s bottom line. I was turned away without any reasoning from the MANAGER. So here I am, writing a review because I know how the algorithm works, and I know that this will be seen by somebody in charge who might not be well informed on how customers are treated when they aren’t able to see. This also makes me wonder how the employees are treated. Again, I manage a kitchen, and I believe if you’re treating the customers rudely that it probably a theme for the job and the workers. Maybe I’m wrong, but I doubt it. This left a sour taste in my mouth the last day of my trip. Enjoy your stay in Ireland, but don’t rely on this kitchen to be accommodating if you stay here.

Location of this place is absolutely fantastic. Located off O’Connell st in middle of Dublin city center area. Staff are friendly and attentive. Rate seemed competitive. Housekeeping comes rather early in the morning for my taste ~approx 0830 so keep that in mind if you are drinking competitively and plan on sleeping.

Academy Plaza Hotel is well situated in Dublin City centre for access to shopping, as 2 shopping centres are right on your door. It's just a short walk down to the river as well, and soon enough you can enjoy everything across there too. The staff were also extremely friendly and accommodating. My only issue I had with the hotel is I found the beds to be quite uncomfortable and squeaky. I kept being awoken in the middle of the night to rearrange myself and get comfortable again. In the lead up to a concert at Aviva Stadium, any poor night's sleep is not ideal.

We spent a week in this hotel. Everything was seasonally decorated, all Covid requirements were fulfilled and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The room maids were very attentive. Breakfast buffet was good. Our room was clean and equipped with all necessities. Very convenient location. Would definitely stay here again if visiting Dublin.

Good Central position. Small tweaks needed and would be perfect. The room only has a hanging rail for clothes, could do with something else as space to do so. Beds good quality but a little on the firm side for us. Quilt tog rating and thickness was very warm for summer. No information in room for hotel facilities and eating times etc. Overall we would recommend hotel and stay again.

Have to say I never felt as unsafe in all my life. People walking around the hotel no masks even the room service staff on every floor no masks on. I said it to one of the duty managers about why are masks not be worn he did react to phone someone and appolisgsed. But when I came down to leave the hotel again staff and visitors from other countries walking around with no masks. I now said it to reception staff and they told me management were not pushing the wearing of masks anymore even though it is law in Ireland to wear masks in all public places. Poor management. Room was nice but half clean, found 3 large long black hairs in bathroom, where I have very little so weren't mine.

Nice enough hotel but not four-star. Location was convenient and staff was very friendly. Some rooms will be located on a street active at night so be careful if you’re a light sleeper. Wifi was terrible in our room. Yes it was better in the reception area but that’s not very helpful for general guest use. Room was a bit dated with a fickle shower. Breakfast was decent but without much variety.

Great location wonderful service super friendly staff. Parking is a bit tricky. Driving in downtown Dublin is a nightmare. One of the better breakfast buffets I've had. A great deal at 10 euro. Would recommend

Nice, modern room however there were things about the room which let the hotel down: Shower cubicle had a door which was awkwardly designed. Every time you turn on the shower it will go directly on to the bathroom floor before you can jump in. Couldn't move the shower head to face somewhere else so the floor was constantly wet. Air conditioner/heater didn't work. It got got hot at night but we couldn't open our window as our room directly faced the Heineken garden bar. Very loud with club music and lots of people outside until 2:30am. Yes, you read right. 2:30am. Never had a decent night's sleep. We booked the hotel for two nights and it wasn't worth the hassle to try change the room. If you're staying make sure your room does not face the club side of the hotel.

Myself and my partner stayed here for 3 nights - the first night we were woken by a lot of deep music at around 2am. I spoke to reception and they immediately gave us a complimentary upgrade and we were moved first thing next morning up to the 6th floor, away from the music which was coming from a nearby bar’s cellar. Breakfast was very tasty and a good price. Staff were helpful and the hotel was clean and in a great location. I wouldn’t say the rooms have a huge amount of space and we didn’t find the beds too comfy but for a few nights, this was a great place to stay and the staff really went above and beyond to help us.

Nice hotel in a quiet location, just off O'Connell Street in Dublin. I stayed on the Monday night, just before Christmas day. I booked a small single room and was pleasantly surprised when I got there. The room had a double bed, tea or coffee making facilities, hairdryer, iron and ironing board, TV, phone, spare pillow, spare towels and a safe. The room I was in wasn't that big, but it was very comfortable for a single night stay. The hotel has a restaurant, bar, lounge and small gym. If you book through their own website, you'll get a free breakfast. The hotel has an arrangement with The Spire Q carpark, allowing 24 hours parking for 17 euros when you validate your ticket at the hotel.

This is one of my favourite hotels in Dublin (4star) and located just off O’Connell Street and very handy for the Airport bus. It is modern, well ran and the staff are well trained. Don’t be put off by the exterior as the rooms are lovely and well presented. Breakfast is excellent and this can be great value for money especially midweek.

Perfect location in Dublin. Short walking distance to museums, Trinity College/Book of Kells, restaurants, bars, and shopping. Each staff member we encountered, from the front desk and lobby, to housekeeping to the coffee bar were so kind and helpful. The room was wonderful and clean, and we will definitely not only return, but recommend it to family and friends.

Would NOT recommend this hotel. Definitely one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Not only are the rooms smaller than a college dormitory, the rooms were dusty with dirty bedsheets. The hotel phone in my room wasn’t even working and when I picked it up it had a thick layer of dust all over it. I have also never stayed at a hotel where the wifi is this bad. You can barely use it. Walls are paper thin and I can hear people next door talking. They have this fan in the toilet that you can’t turn off and it’s incredibly loud and disturbing. Also AC doesn’t seem to be working well and rooms get quite hot at night. However, most importantly, this hotel clearly has security issues. I understand that people make mistakes but feel like this is a basic one that shouldn’t be made. The first day I checked in, we were given keys to this unit that was already occupied because “they got our names wrong”. We walked in and there’s clothes and valuables everywhere - and honestly thank god we didn’t walk in on someone naked or resting inside. I felt extremely unsafe immediately knowing that they make such basic mistakes of giving keys away for rooms that are already occupied… on top of that, this hotel doesn’t even have extra locks inside the rooms… which I thought was a basic. The only pro is the location. Does not feel like a 4 star hotel. Will not be staying here again. Horrible horrible experience.

Its a great hotel to stay in while visiting Dublin. Prices are reasonable, staff was super friendly! The room was good(recently renovated) only bathroom was outdated and the show had almost no water pressure. The breakfast was expensive and not good at all

Stayed 3 nights- 2 early in our trip and 1 at the end. 1st 2 nights were fine. Staff was very friendly and our room was ready early, which was just what we needed. Last night- staff was friendly but about an hour after we got to our room we heard banging and cutting noises from above. We called downstairs to inquire and no one knew what it could be. It when in for a while and I went downstairs- no one seemed to know but said they’d send a manager to check it out. We go out for a bit and come back and a bit later the same noises. We call down again and a manager came up to finally let us know it was renovations and that they should be done by 9pm. They were still going on until 10 and woke us again at 7am. Great location to a lot of attractions and public transport and the coffee shop in the lobby had great staff and coffee.

Had a great 1 night stay here. Staff super friendly, prefect location close to the main sights. Breakfast buffet was great, plenty of choices and the food was fresh and tasty. Room really clean and comfortable. Would love to stay here again when I next visit Dublin

Really nice hotel- the outside doesn’t look special but inside - wow !! Lovely rooms, great breakfast and, as always, it’s service that pushes me to give this hotel five stars. Great service from everyone we dealt with. We had an issue with one room on our booking and it was dealt with smoothly, quickly and to our satisfaction. Would stay here again.

I had my doubts about booking with them at first regarding the lastest reviews I had read before coming. I need not have had any. Everything has been perfect from start to finish. The hotel staff has been very welcoming and even let us enter our room early after a long trip (we only wanted to ask if we could drop off our bags to the concierge baggage drop off at first but they just checked us in and gave us our keys straight away) We booked for a standard double room and everything was in a pristine state. And the location has been perfect for our program of the week. I would definitely recommend.

Stay here in August for 2 nights. Location excellent hotel staff very friendly. Have to say Nora at front desk so friendly and helpful. Room was small put very clean bathroom clean. No complaints re room . It was pre all Ireland night and had a few cork youths knocking on door but rang front desk and all sorted. Breakfast was great and staff friendly. Bar staff young fella very friendly. Got free dinner with deal and I found this a big disappointment the roast beef slices were so thin and the whole meal I just was not happy with. It was poor. Yes I would stay again as great value for money but I wouldn’t eat the dinner.

Had a wonderful stay. Nice staff, very clean and comfortable room, not noisy at all on the 7th floor. Breakfast was a bit limited for the sweet side. The location is perfect and the price is reasonable for Dublin.

The hotel is located in a great location feet from the Spire. The staff are amazing and moreover, really care about everyone who stays there. They even have a restaurant that serves great food for dinner and the breakfast was average unfortunately. The only downside to this hotel is the lack of plugs inside the hotel rooms. Like bring a phone charger battery because there is no way you'll charge your phone next to your bed. Lol. Other then that I'd recommend this hotel. :)

This hotel has a perfect location. It is in the middle of Dublin city, located near to the main square. The interior is very comfy with a bit rustical touch. Furthermore, the staff was really kind and forthcoming. Cons are: It is a little bit loud and the room was really small and dark. Because of the pandemic rules (August 2021), the gym was closed. However the hotel still did advertising with it and it was nowhere written that the gym was closed. That's a big no-go!

Our room was exactly what we wanted with everything we needed. Customer service was amazing from the reception staff to the bar/restaurant staff. Nothing was too much trouble for anyone. We were made to feel extremely welcome and will 100% be staying here again. Don't feel the need to look for anywhere else. Great location to everything and the room price itself was so worth what we got.

First off the location and the front desk staff were great. We were located walking distance to where we wanted to go. Front desk staff was friendly. The bad: the door was terrible to open and shut, and did not have a working deadbolt. When we took a shower the shower head dripped for hours and water splashed all over the floors. The worst: cleaning staff did not wear masks (during a pandemic). The hotel clearly stated to wear a mask while in the hotel. Because of this we decided not to have our room cleaned for the three night stay. A lot of guests decided not to wear masks. When a staff member did come to check on the shower head she did not wear a mask in our room. Very bad experience especially because of the price we paid.

What can I say but this place is ideal , it is right in the middle of town. The staff could not do enough for us. Had a birthday there and they put the balloon up in the room. From the moment of checking in until checking out the staff made our stay great. The room were spotless and the food was delicious. Such a great offer. 100% would recommend this place.

Cheap and quality accommodation and services, rich breakfast and friendly and highly professional stuff. Easy and cheap access by bus to and fro the airport. The hotel is located at the very centre of the city, close to the Spire, thus making it the ideal starting point of your tour in Dublin, most places, museums and sites within 10' to 20' walking distance in all directions. Highly recommended.

Extremely clean, I have been in various bathrooms all across Europe and never seen female toilet facilities so emaculate. The staff were very friendly and a special shout to Georgina who went above and beyond her job to make us feel welcome and unique, great asset to your company. We had dinner on Monday night and Tuesday morning and food was absolutely delicious, the staff very friendly and obliging.

Amazing location and very nice breakfast with lots of things to choose from. The staff was nice as well, remembered what trips we went on and asked how it was. The only thing that could be improved is that the shower head could not be taken off, so it made it hard to clean yourself well because it was quit tall. Besides that, would recommend this hotel!

We requested a baby cot and when we got into the room, the cot was already there! It never happened in the other hotels we visited in Ireland, so we were very happy about the service. The breakfast is good and definitely worth its price. The room was not big, not much daylight, and could have been cleaner. No minibar. However, there is a hairdryer in the room. The location is central, although it does not always feel safe at night.

I stayed at the hotel over St.Patricks Day week/to visit family and I really enjoyed the accommodation. The staff was super polite and professional. My room was extremely clean and the cleaning staff always asked if I needed extra towels etcc. Also this hotel is centrally located in Dublin so it's walkable to many pubs, restaurants, grocery stores and main shopping area. I even walked to the temple bar area from the hotel and it didn't take me long. I will definitely come back and stay there when I'm in Ireland again.

I've stayed here both for work and personal travel three times. Always a pleasure. Very convenient location. Very comfortable bed and excellent shower. Very good deal on parking too with the local Q carpark.

A hotel with reasonable prices and perfect location in the heart of Dublin. The rooms are relatively small, but comfortable and clean. We were not disturbed by noice from the city despite the location in the middle of the city. The breakfast buffet had a lot of choices.

The hotel was pretty clean, but very dated and small. The entire place was musty and dark. The internet didn’t work most of the time, but after calling twice they were able to fix it. The breakfast was good. Overall, a fine place to stay for 1-2 nights if you don’t have high expectations. But I still can’t get over the price. Definitely not worth this kind of money.

Stayed here last weekend when The Arlington was fully booked. It was OK for a base but not hugely impressed. It is situated on a back street off O'Connell Street and right next door to a night club. Evenings until early hours we could hear the base of the music going on, even above the TV. The room was very dingy with very little natural light and the view from the only window in the room was like looking out into the middle of a tower block. We had a double room but when towels were replaced on our second night they only left one towel!! Realised this after undressing to jump in the shower and had to redress and go looking for someone to get more towels! Also paid with cash for breakfast for two mornings in advance when we checked in, however when we arrived for breakfast on both mornings there was no record of our booking or payment. We were allowed to eat but i had to go to the check in desk to make sure we were not charged again...Still unsure what happened to our cash payment!! On the whole we were pretty disappointed but had a fun weekend otherwise.

A very comfortable stay in the heart of Dublin! This place was really reasonably priced and the staff was super friendly and welcoming! Our room was very spacious, the shower had nice pressure, and our bed was comfy (though the pillows were a bit flat so we had to use the extras in the wardrobe). It is very centrally located, making it easy to explore the city by foot. There are a few awesome restaurants right around the corner, including a pub called Murray’s that has live music and dancing a few nights a week! We chose to book breakfast at the hotel and we were not disappointed. We would definitely stay here again!

When we were researching places to stay in Dublin, we weren't sure how central this location would be (it looks north of many attractions). However, once we arrived and started walking around, it was close to many things. We had a quad room, with one double and two twin beds. The double bed was two twins pushed together. While the room was small compared to North American hotels, our (#615) had a small alcove with windows and a seating area. This made it feel a lot larger. The room itself was very clean. The bathroom shower "door" was strange. It would swing out over the floor, and if you weren't careful then you could soak the floor pretty easily. Funny enough, there were pencil marks on the walls so it looked like someone planned to install a proper shower door. Many reviewers noted they had a noisy room, with the pub in the courtyard below. Fortunately, we were facing the outside of the hotel and did not hear this noise. Some street noise, but nothing that would keep us up. The hotel is very close to some good pubs (we made Murray's our regular stop at the end of the night) and the Hop On Hop Off starting point (highly recommend this). Nice walk down to Trinity College and a little further to St. Stephen's Green where there are more pubs along the way.

First, the good: The location in the city is really nice. Not even 10 minutes to the Lefey river, 5 minutes from the start of the hop on hop off. The room is also nice. Not too big but good enough Now the bad We were given a "quieter" room. But it was not quiet. There are a lot of bars really close. They play loud music until 2h30am. That we could hear from our room. The cleaning crew was also not great. They cleaned the room when we had the do not disturb sign. And when we did ask to have the room cleaned, they did not change the bed sheets. Add to that the door banging at any hours and thank god for earplugs.
