Such an amazing church with an incredible history! The audio guide was excellent and I think the guided tour might be even better (apparently you get to ring the bells!). Definitely budget several hours to see it all. Keep an eye out for the corner with original floor tiles, the family crest with a monkey because their pet monkey climbed to the top of a tower with their heir and then safely returned the baby, the mummified cat and rat, and a saint’s heart that was mysteriously stolen and then anonymously returned. Definitely one of the top sights in Dublin!

Beautiful gothic cathedral in the heart of Dublin where you can find the mummified bodies of a cat and a mouse caught up in the church organ in 1860. The entrance ticket is 7,50€, but it's definitely worth it!

I must really thank our guide, Charlie (?) for the tour of this holy site, she was friendly, informative and helpful. She really made the place come alive with the stories of St Laurence, the pub under the church and the mummies! Well worth a visit!

A very beautiful place definitely worth the visit, however, for a cathedral, the entrance fee is pretty high.

Lovely garden with amazing flowers and cosy corners where to sit to breathe for a while out of the chaos. Love it.

This place is so beautiful. We went in after realizing it was part of our Dublin pass, and I’m so glad we did! I love that they let you wander and explore. We lit some candles for our family members who have passed. My aunt tried on some of the period clothing. We checked out the catacombs and purchased a few things from the gift shop. Loved every minute!!

This landmark is absolutely beautiful and filled with so much history. It is definitely worth it to buy a ticket and take a look around. Don’t miss the crypt down below, and if you see Tom the guide, you should ask him a few questions about the cathedral, he has a lot of interesting facts up his sleeve!

If you love architecture or are into history, you have to checkout Christ Church Cathedral. It’s absolutely beautiful. We even got to sit in on a service and it was a nice experience. There’s also a crypt in the basement that I found to be very cool.

Extremely gorgeous cathedral, and impressive underground exhibitions. BTW, the location is only about 550 meter away from the St Patrick Cathedral. You may visit them within a day if mind their opening time and make a good plan.

The cathedral is impressive and has gothic stile. The entrance is quite small but you can also stand and seat for a rest and enjoy the view of the building

Gorgeous place! Beautiful stained glass windows. I was a member of a choir that sang in the church. The acoustics were great.

Christ Cathedral in Dublin (Ireland) - this historical cathedral is one of the city's tourist attractions. The cathedral has beautiful architecture. But we saw only a very small part of the cathedral, since further entrance was paid. Since we were just walking around the city, we accidentally stumbled upon this cathedral, we had no strong desire to walk through it all. But for history buffs, I recommend it)

incredible how history is alive here. go see the crypt and archway across the road. The building dating back to 1000 a.d. and it's in such remarkable good shape,

Amazing cathedral with a rich & storied history. The tile & stone floors are truly magnificent! The stained glass windows are glorious. In the crypt, there is the original copy of the transcribed Magna Carta that was adopted by Ireland. London , England was replaced with Dublin, Ireland, when it was adopted as law. To this day, the MC is still written into the Irish political doctrine. The courtyard is a great place to sit for a visit. Inside cathedral, there is a daily service around 6pm. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. John & Tom are fine chaps. There are several stairs to get to crypt. Restrooms are in the crypt area near the gift shop. There is no street parking. Easy Uber or taxi drop off. 15 min walk from Jameson Distillery, 5 min walk fro. St. Patrick's Cathedral, 10 min walk to Dublin Castle. We did all in one day. Start or end at Jameson since you will need to RSVP a time there. 11 Euros to enter, and you can do a self guided tour, audio tour with choice of language, or take the guided tour. This site is also part of the Go City pass, along with the other sites mentioned above. It is also a stop on the Big Bus Dublin. We purchased 3 day passes, and they were well worth it. Saved us a lot of money on entrance fees and transportation. Cheers!

Actually I went in May 20222 but I forgot to leave a review. It was very beautiful place. And to avoid buying a ticket go there at the time of a service, in this way you enter for free, join the service and then can walk around for free.

This medieval church is mind-blowing and will leave you speechless after visiting. There are still many old elements that make this place a must when visiting Dublin. The fact that they still have the old tiles on the floor or that a mummified cat and rat trapped in one of the church pipe's organ. The crypt is also a fascinating location you need to visit. You can even dress up in some old traditional irish clothing. A shop is there to offer a great variety of options. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and always ready to answer any questions. They have clean unisex toilets. It's an absolute must to visit when in Dublin.

Anglo Norman Cathedral situated in the heart of medieval Viking Dublinia, just beyond the end of Dame Street no more than ten minutes from the front of Trinity College. It looks spectacular from the outside and although the gothic interior isn't quite as, it's well worth seeing if you can spare the eight euro entrance fee. There is also a crypt with artefacts and information as well as a screen showing as short film on its history!

Christ Church Cathedral holds so much history about the city of Dublin from the Vikings to current day and showcases it all in the beautiful architecture. The staff was so friendly and helpful (even offering up tons of interesting facts and stories when the WiFi for the audio tour wasn’t working). Tom especially was a delight to speak with. You can also attend services if you choose. FYI, there are a few stairs (maybe 15 steps) to explore the crypt under the church making it a struggle for those with accessibility issues. However, if you can go, it had many interesting historical items along with the gift shop down there. Absolutely worth a look.

This is a beautiful building. We went to the top and rang the church bells. It was a nice tour stop. I love old buildings like this.

Not the most mesmerizing, but has many Irish monuments its very well preserved. The floor tiles caught my attention, also has a huge organ pipe, looks recent but well integrated in the cathedral. 12€ its a little bit to much for a ticket

Had a lovely experience visiting this, the staff were super friendly and didn't hesitate to give me a student ticket even though I don't study in Ireland. The crypt is really cool. Highly recommended.

We had an absolutely fantastic time at the Christchurch cathedral today. It was a great way to finish off our time in Dublin. We were wondering around the main level, when Tom asked if we were having a nice time. He asked if we wanted to hear a story and told us about the Fitzgerald’s and their unique family crest. He then offered to show us something else, pointing out some medieval stonework, and then later, telling us a story about an incredible heist that happened in the museum. We were not expecting a personalized tour, but it was such a great experience to hear from someone so knowledgeable and passionate about the cathedral. We had a fantastic time in Ireland, but this is definitely one of the highlights!

I had the fortune of being on a tour group and was able to go kinda afterhours with drinks and snacks at the end. It was lovely and historical. Our guide was knowledgeable and charming. There's so much to learn you didn't know you didn't know. Very intriguing!

NICE CATHEDRAL Really interesting Cathedral, very historical and very important things have happened here. The crypt below the floor is super creepy and interesting, and you'll even find St Laurence's heart on display. Like I said, creepy & cool. But it's a beautiful cathedral with amazing stained class windows and you won't regret coming inside. The only downside: the pricey entry fee. And it doesn't come with an audio guide for the price, which you get at St Patrick's Cathedral down the road. Still definitely worth checking out.

  • 5/5 Michael M. 1 year ago on Google
Worth the visit. Dublin is more of an experience than a collection of sites, so this isn't Notre Dame, Westminster Abbey or St Peter's - but is an interesting visit, well presented and very helpful staff. The crypt museum must not be missed for its historical artifacts. Ask about the floor tiles with the foxes.... And the heart of St Laurence relic!

Christ Church Cathedral is well worth a visit. It’s really reasonably priced for a self-guided, audio tour at only €10 and there’s so much to learn and choose from on the audio tour, you could easily spend over an hour listening to the stories and admiring the grand architecture and stunning floors of the cathedral. The staff were really lovely too and went above and beyond to help when we needed it, and just little things like striking up a conversation about where we were from etc goes a long way. I am so glad we visited Christ Church Cathedral during our trip to Dublin, as it wasn’t something we had planned but I think we would have been really missing out if we hadn’t have gone. I really recommend it, make sure you don’t miss out either!

Definitely worth visiting when in Dublin. A beautiful cathedral with some bonus macabre attractions as well.

Must place to see in Dublin. The most memorable parts are interesting floor tiles (some original parts survived), the heart of Laurence O'Toole (recently returned after it was stolen for 6 years), stained glass windows, tomb of Strongbow (Richard de Clare) and the crypt. Note that it's cheaper if you take a combination ticket to Christ Church and Dublinia.

This was for us the most beautiful church in Dublin. It is worth a stop, spend some time in and outside the church. It is a huge building almost 1000 years old. You just cannot miss it. We did the hop and bus in Dublin and stop at the church.

The Christ Church of Dublin is definitely an amazing place to visit. The team is very helpful and so kind ! We were surprised how full of treasures was the crypt, very enjoyable for curious minds. The architecture is beautiful and the story you’ll learn about the Church is also very interesting.

Omgosh. This church was so amazing. It was one of our stops on a bus tour. We got off the bus and spent probably a couple hours inside taking pictures. Built by the Vikings in the 800s. And still standing. Although the roof did Kevin ones.
