We had been told about the Irish Rock 'N' Roll Museum by a family member who had visited a while back. I had added it to the list of things to do when visiting Dublin and made sure that we carved out some time for it. And, man, was it worth it! My dad, sister, and I had a great time with our tour guide, Brian. He was knowledgeable and had so many wonderful stories of the musicians that have graced the halls. His personal touches really made the experience. As musicians, it was really enjoyable to see all the different aspects of the studio. Our favorite part was the Thin Lizzy room with the Neve mixing console. My dad is a recording engineer and hadn't seen one of those in person in many, many years. There were only about 9 people (4 groups) on our tour total, so we were able to ask tons of questions and take as many pictures as we wanted. This day ended up being one of my favorite days in Dublin! Big thank you to Brian!

Amazing museum, lovely tour by our exceptional tour guide Scott. Recommend it any day of the weekā€¦ Also, you never know, you might bump into a rock legend. Scott is extremely professional, it was a pleasure to be guided by him, and they also played a song together with my boyriend šŸ˜šŸ˜Š we had a really nice time.

Amazing experience at this one of a kind museum, definitely a not to be missed Dublin attraction! The tour was absolutely captivating, funny and informative and we heard a lot of interesting stories from the best guide ever, Alan! Thank you sir! Even got a mini live performance from one of his colleagues, how about that? If you love music, you definitely must check this museum out, you'll have a great time here! Tip: the entrance in the museum is through the bar.

I started the tour with no expectations, but it actually is a great tour to do. I highly recommend it, and the guide (Brian) was extremely passionate on what he does, and transmitted that energy successfully. Really a must of the tours to do in Dublin.

Very enjoyable tour with guide Brian. Certainly good way to found out more about history of irish Rock'n'Roll musicians and to hear interesting story how some of them started their career. At the end my friend who is musician was offered to try to play guitare which was lovely experience for all of us.

Very pleasant experience, especially for something called a museum. But instead of seeing a boring exposition, this tour is about hearing all the interesting stories that are presented by a tour guide. You will hear about the history and what formed the Irish music culture, the biggest starts, and the current bands. I strongly recommend. It will tell you about Irish culture more than any monument sightseeing of the city.

Got a chance to visit this absolutely beautiful place filled with rich Irish Music history. Our tour guide Alan was very funny and filled with knowledge. He shared a lot of interesting details about the place and the music history. We got to be a part of live performance in one of the recording studios. This visit was definitely worth it.

Small but it smells and breathes Rock'n'Roll. The guided visit allows to have some nice anecdotsmes about the place and some of the bands that compose Irish & Ireland music scene. Would be cool to see some the inside of the studios still used today.

My girlfriend and I had such an amazing time learning about Irelandā€™s rich history of music. Alan was an amazing guide who provided so much interesting detail in his tour. I even got to jam on a guitar with one of the workers! Super fun.

A great little musical museum showcasing Ireland's role in shaping modern music. The museum works on a guided tour basis and takes you through a journey of what music has been recorded in the studios and rehearsal spaces with a particular focus on Irish bands and musicians.

Shout out to Glenn, very passionate and loves what heā€™s doing. (P.S. Glenn, if youā€™re reading this and interested in more Ghost, I Recommend Cirice, Ritual, Rats, Dance Macabre, and From The Pinnacle To The Pit)

I went here with my husband on a whim. I'm so glad we did!! Alan was amazing, he was so knowledgeable and passionate about the Irish Rock scene. He was very comforting when I got emotional about the Michael Jackson exhibit, an artist who's music has influenced me and been a major part of my life. My heart broke the day MJ died (he died the same day as my great-grandad). Alan recognised how upset I was and gave me a great big hug, told me that getting emotional about music is heavily encouraged and seemed quite moved by my reaction to the exhibit. I wasn't expecting it and I was so pleased I got to see it and learn that little bit more about what MJ was doing in Ireland before he passed. I loved the video and seeing so many musicians that helped develop my love of Irish Rock and Punk. I thought the Thin Lizzy exhibit was amazing, the guitars were beautiful and the tour jackets were great! If you go, I hope you get Alan, he's funny, caring, passionate and such an easy person to go around with. If I'm ever in Dublin again, I hope to go back and I'd really like to see this museum grow.

Amazing tour, such interesting information about their bands and current musicians who use the space. Such fun and interactive rooms and time to play the instruments and play dress up in some costumes. Our tour guide Brian was so helpful and had so many funny stories to tell us including the artists displayed. Would definitely recommend to a music lover.

I give it six stars, turn the volume to 11, and raise my lighter in salute! The Irish Rock 'n' Roll Museum Experience with our tour guide Alan was an absolute blast. We stumbled in with no expectations because things like that sometimes suck. However, this deep dive into music nerd paradise was the exact opposite ā€“ a hidden treasure of tourist gold. As soon as Alan, a cardigan-clad rockstar among tour guides, showed up, we knew this was going to be a gig to remember. While there is plenty of rock 'n' roll memorabilia on display, it's more of an experience than a museum. Visiting the dark rehearsal studios (and jamming if that's your thing), walking the dank hallways and emerging onstage (no crowd surfing advised), and gazing on the same vintage recording equipment so many rock legends have used to craft their art that continues to inspire generations on, left us awestruck and happy. Alan exuded a true fanā€™s passion for rock 'n' roll that was contagious. His knowledge about the history of rock ā€“ Irish and otherwise ā€” and the stories behind the artists was fascinating. His warmth and keen Irish humor kept us enthralled and entertained. Although music is a universal language, apparently English (Irish?) is not. Alan ensured that the German-speaking couple on our tour got full access to the deep tracks by recruiting a willing intern to translate on the fly. My friends, if you have even a sliver of love for rock 'n' roll pulsating in your veins, the Irish Rock 'n' Roll Museum Experience with our tour guide Alan is an absolute must. I give it six stars, turn the volume to 11, and raise my lighter in salute! It's a shining supernova in the vast rock 'n' roll universe, and you don't want to miss it.

Fantastic! Was a bit sceptical at first but our (amazing) host Bryan soon charmed us with all the stories of the artists who came through these rooms. The entire tour lasted a bit less than two hours but time flew by so fast. We got to see Michael Jackson's pajamas, sit on Bono's sofa and my kid got to play the drums. Sounds weird now that I'm writing this. Anyway. So much musical history in this place! Would definitely come again.

What a lovely experience! Our tour guide was Bryan and he was amazing. Very friendly, full of interesting facts and willing to answer any questions. If you want you can grab a beer in their bar and bring it along with you. You'll see a lot of amazing instruments and musical equipment, and also watch a short film about Irish music history. You will learn a lot from Bryan so don't miss it when you're in Dublin!

Scott was such a great tour guide and the whole experience was so much fun! I would definitely recommend getting tickets or seeing tour times in advance because you can only see the museum on a tour. There is a bar, record shop, and music venue with so much history that share the building. such a great spot!

If youā€™re a fan of Irish musicians Van Morrison, U2, Rory Gallagher and Thin Lizzy, youā€™ll enjoy a visit to the Irish Rock ā€˜nā€™ Roll Museum. As Temple Lane Studios, itā€™s been a recording and rehearsal studio for hundreds of bands since 1984 including Irish bands, but also artists like Michael Jackson, Def Leppard, Rihanna, and The Rolling Stones. In 2015 they added a behind-the-scenes tour experience. Our guide, Alan, made our visit even more memorable with his great stories about SinĆ©ad Oā€™Connor, U2, and Michael Jackson's pajamas.

Great experience, this is not a museum. This is a much better place, live studio recording facilities with a lot of memorabilia from U2, Thin Lizzy, Rory Gallagher, and everyone who was recording at that studio.

If you have a chance to see this museum, I wholeheartedly recommend it. These types of studios will soon be things of the past. I learned so much about Irish music and our guide, Conner was informative and had a terrific sense of humor.

Went in very unsure of what to expect, but was absolutely so blown away. I thought the whole tour was really really entertaining and the guide was fantastic, funny and helpful and very interactive with everyone. Staff at the door was so super friendly and I came out having learnt so much, and spent the entire time with a huge smile. I wish it was even longer as I didnā€™t want it to end. Thanks for a fantastic experience!!

It's really not much of a museum but rather the personal collection of the memorabilia that one of the owners has gathered over the years. The building is a rehearsal space still in use by many amateur bands and in the past by some of Ireland's biggest acts, including U2. A tour guide will take you through about 6 rooms where you will hear some mostly accurate stories about some of the bands that used the space but you will mostly just be told the names of which acts have used the rehearsal space at one time or another in their early careers or that performed in the venue attached next door. You'll see some old road cases and equipment that weren't owned by any of the acts in the stories, but you will see a pair of Michael Jackson's pajamas. In one rehearsal room you'll see some U2 memorabilia that was mostly purchased, and in the final space (part of the old recording studio) you'll see some of Phil Lynott's instruments and some Thin Lizzy tour jackets along with a decommissioned Neve mixing board. That was exciting for me but I didn't learn anything new about Thin Lizzy's history or about the recording process in the old studio. Unless you're completely bored or a rabid U2 or Thin Lizzy fan, I would recommend you skip the Rock 'n' Roll museum. The information offered is less than what one would find on a Wikipedia page and the memorabilia (framed records and a couple of autographs) could be found in any motivated collector's stash. On another note do go find the Phil Lynott memorial statue a few blocks away.

If you're planning on going to Dublin, this tour is an absolute must. Located literally around the corner from the famous Temple Bar pub, the tours vibrant location sets you up for what lies ahead. Bex was our tour guide and was exceptional in her Irish music knowledge but also her audience engagement as she made everyone very comfortable the tour. Highlight for me was being able to have a go on the drums and even do a mini jam with Bex herself! Definitely value for money and is very likely to be a top memory of your trip.

Bryan was welcoming, a great host, explaining the history of the old Studio and working new, during the tour through the corridors hung with memorabilia, recounting the many many Irish success stories, who had shared their talent with the world and created memories from Bono to Van Morrison ,The Poges and Lynott from Thin Lizzy fame! Our son got to jam with Bryan on drumsā€¦ A fun, little tired but enjoyable hour!

We had an impromptu stop at the Rock n Roll museum in order mainly to get out of the Irish summer rain. We were very pleasantly surprised. Our tour guide was really enthusiastic and gave us lots of insights into this venue, the artists who have performed and recorded there and also gave instrument players on the tour, the opportunity to rock out in the same room as some of their heroes. Highly recommended!

I adored this museum and and working studio (Temple Lane Studios) for so many reasons, but obviously for my love of music, history and Thin Lizzy. If you are a U2 fan, it's a must visit, although lots of other artists have recorded there, including the recently departed Sinead O'Connor, who was also a patron. Our tour guide (Glenn or Colenn?) was great fun and hugely knowledgeable and passionate about the studios. Had a chat with him as a fellow massive Lizzy fan. Also situated in the Temple Bar area of Dublin for a few slurps, although the museum has it's own nice bar too.

The Irish Rock 'n' Roll Museum Experience is one of many hidden gems in Dublin. Look for the Wall of Fame - you can't miss it. It might be the only wall like it in Dublin - it's also very red. There are many doors, but only one leads directly to the front desk. The other doors will lead to you towards the alcohol, so not a huge mistake if you open the wrong door right? Inside you'll get a tour of memorabilia such as gold records, musical instruments, removed doors, removed clothing, recording equipment, recording stages and many stories of past and current Irish musicians. If you love Rock 'n' Roll then you can't skip visiting the Irish Rock 'n' Roll Museum Experience.

A nice short tour (about 1 hour) . It was entertaining but if you are not a U2 or Michael Jackson fan you may find that a big part of the tour focuses on those two. The Thin Lizzy part kinda saved it for me.

Great tour, especially since it's still used for practice and recording by musicians. I didn't realize how many great musicians come from Ireland. Well worth visiting

Nice little museum which is also a working studio & venue. Nice bit of music history and seeing a real Neve desk was wonderful. PS sorry to all who witnessed my poor guitar playing!
